I’m moving to Vegas. One of my buddies is convinced he can kill it at sportsbegging so he’s paying me $1200/week plus for my apartment to be in Vegas and place bets for him. Depending on his results there is also bonuses I can achieve. $65000/year plus he’s paying for a sick apartment on the strip? Not a bad deal IMO. I figured I’ll find other guys who need someone to place bets for them too so I can make even more. $2500 a week would be ideal.

Tell him I'll do it for $1000 per week.

Ok I probably shouldn't respond seriously, but I'm too curious.

How long could this business possibly last? When a book sees a new guy suddenly start slinging around $20k bets, usually on the sharp side, it becomes preposterously easy to figure out what's going on, right? How could this possibly not get shut down in the first few weeks?

Is Sportsbegging when you beg for your team to score and the other team to fumble? I am good at that.

Pretty sure Sportsbegging is about who makes the most money sitting on the Strip asking pedestrians for money. Think sportsfishing, just with beggars.

He’s not going to be making $20k bets. He has told me that $5k per bet is the highest he would ever want to get. Beyond that it’ll be my job to vary where I place the bets so that we don’t get busted. If our max bet is $5000 and I really am smart about placing bets at different places I think we should be okay for a while at least. My bigger worry is his system not working and the bankroll going bust.

I made a comment about something that I’m doing that fits perfectly into what this thread was made for. I’m no troll. I’m doing this forum a favor by not clogging it up like everyone else does by making a new thread about themselves

How big does your friend think his edge is? Seems like if he's only betting $5k a pop he'd need to be making an assload of bets to cover the $1200/wk+rent he's outlaying to his beard.

An individual providing messenger betting services is illegal. Given that if done smartly, hard to detect, but is it worth the risk? If you set it up as a business it can be legal, even if placing bets for out of state clients.

Consider working with your sponsor to play this angle and make bets for a pool of folks.

My buddy is doing everything he can to do this in the most legal way possible. He set up an LLC and I’m an independent contractor. He will pay taxes on his earnings and I’ll pay taxes on the money I’m paid. We’re not trying to be shady at all and want to be as legitimate as we possibly can be

He’s run the numbers and he thinks it works out. It will be a TON of picks.

So he will be betting College bb and NBA, NHL and Football?

Like was mentioned above he would have to be making well over 20 plays a week at 5k a pop and have a good winning % to make it work.

All points spreads and totals or ML also?

This is your first mention of this and should have been brought up earlier.

In any case you graduated to a your own thread.

He will be betting all of the sports you mentioned, and then is really excited for baseball. He thinks he has a fool proof method for baseball. So we will see how that goes.

I mean if the guy has a 3 unit per week average win betting $5000 units he’s making $13500 or so per week which is $702000 a year. He won’t be betting 5k per bet to start. But he’s also not expecting to make $700000 per year profit.

The starting bankroll will be somewhere around $30000 and the starting bet will be somewhere between $500-$1000. He thinks he can make 10 units a week which would make him plenty of money to pay me, pay for the apartment and make a profit. Until the bankroll grows he’s not going to be making a huge profit for himself. But once he grows the bankroll a bit and can make some bigger bets it has the potential to be very profitable for him.

$1000 bets x 10 units is $10000/week - $1200 (my pay) - $500/week (apartment) and he’s making over $8000 a week, which is over $400k a year

March Madness will provide lots of opportunities also. When are you starting this?

Sometime in the next 30 days. The contract is signed, so he has 30 days to place the first bet or he is subject to some major fines.

The contract that we put into place is very detailed.
There’s punishments if I fail to place a bet, or place any bets that I wasn’t told to place.

He will show up at random times to collect his winnings so I can’t try and **** him and just do whatever the **** I want with the money.

I’m not allowed to drink on days when I’m placing bets since he’s worried about me getting drunk and deciding to take the roll to the craps table.

I get fined $300/day I drink when I’m not supposed to.

If I spend any money on anything besides placing the bets (table games, poker, buying a new car) I have my pay seized until double the amount is paid back.

I’m really looking forward to getting started. I think it should be very profitable for him, and for me.

You can't spend your own money on poker or whatever?

You will basically be on call most of the day and night right?

Once I’m paid (weekly on fridays) I can do anything I want with my money.

The stipulations were in regards to the company bankroll for betting the games. Since I will have $30000 or so minimum at all times, and far more if we have the success he thinks we will have
