I would appreciate any input on best place to stay & best place for poker. I am leaning toward playing & staying @ MGM or staying @ MC & taking shuttle to Belllagio. However, I have no idea how the “shuttle” works.
Thanks.
The tram between Aria and Bellagio runs from 8 am to 4 am daily.
From MC you have to walk through the former "Street of Dreams" shopping area to get to it. That area is currently a long hallway surrounded by construction. If you want to play poker at Aria, you don't even take the tram, you just directly enter the casino instead after the ~5 minute walk down the hallway. And it's another couple of minutes to the poker room.
To play at Bellagio, you take the team all the way, and then walk by the pool area, conservatory, and Jean Philippe until you reach the hotel lobby, then you walk through most of the casino to get to the poker room. That's at least a 10 minute walk at a decent pace. But taking the tram is still faster than walking the Strip.
If are willing to walk to save some bucks, MC is an option, esp. if you want to play at Aria. If you want the poker room to be close to your hotel, I'd take MGM. If you want to gamble in your hotel at all, I would pick MGM. The gaming floor at MC is pretty messed up right now.
I also can't say how it feels to walk through that construction hallway during non-peak times.
