I got Diamond status with Founders card. It cost me $295/year and had to sign up for 2 years. So $590.

Lets assume I only travel to Vegas once a year for a 10 day trip. This means that I do not have to pay 10 resort fees which saves me $300. I also get a $100 celebration dinner and get to cut the long lines. This means it is +ev for just one trip. The more trips I do take the greater the +ev gets.

The max I put into poker machines is $20 a day. I do not play other types of slots and never play table games. I do play poker 1/2, 1/3, 2/5 though but these do not earn me enough credits to get me anywhere near diamond. So $295 is a cheap price for me to pay.

Or you can use it instantly at restaurants. I don't think MLife does that. Thus if you come to Vegas less frequently than every 6 months, you can use your points while you are on your trip to at least get something out of it.
They now have easy ways for people to renew their points that expire after six months so you do not loose them. Sign up for the Say and Play questionnaires and attempt to complete one before you points expire and it renews it for another 6 months.

Hi,

I'm going to hit mLife platinum status on my next trip to Vegas. Two questions. Is there any tangible benefit for chasing Noir? From what I've read you put in a ton of action and get recommended by your host. Also does Caesar's offer any kind status match? I'm planning on staying in Vegas during the series and comped rooms at the Rio would be sweet.

Thanks in advance.

Can someone tell me how long it takes for TR offers to come in?

I did the 5k Tier points for diamond in a day (holy **** what a grind) and I am wondering how long I'll have to wait to start seeing some comped rooms.

TY in advance

Both are pretty worthless now that TR stopped giving unlimited hotel to seven stars.

MLife is great if you don't get enough E-mail and want to see at least a message a day.

Not sure about TR.

If you get Platinum in MLife than you can status match to Diamond through Caesar's. Even if you get Noir you wont get higher than Diamond though.

This will not effect what comps you get though. It will give you benefits of the Diamond level but none of the benefits of actually earning tier credits. Comps are based on play and money spent (tier credits earned) and not on your status.

This means you get things like:
1: No Resort Fees. (This can save $30+ a night on your hotel)
2: Priority lines that allow you to skip long lines.
3: A $100 celebration dinner.
4: Other perks.

It may take up to 30 days for a status match to go in effect though so as soon as you get Platinum apply for the diamond match.

Does MGM status match CET Diamond?

Don't think so.

My first trip to Vegas the wife and I basically split our play equally between Mlife and TR.

The offers from TR were much better and we've basically been Diamond ever since.

Stayed at a suite in the Linq last trip with free RFB, upcoming 8 night stay at the Cromwell in June is $180 all in, with free Gwen Stefani tickets included

Could be wrong, but doubt I'd get that at Mlife with the same play.

The only reason I would want to get Mlife status is to park free. As of now I almost never go into MGM joints.

What kind of play are we talking about here?

I don't know our coin in exactly. She usually plays slots with max bets in the $3-6 range.

When I'm not playing the poker, I play Blackjack at $25-$200/hand and sometimes screw around playing other pit games like Ultimate Texas Holdem, 3 card poker or Pai Gow.

We're not high rollers by any stretch of the imagination, not even close, we barely make diamond every year landing at 15-20k tier points, but that gets us the comps described above, so works for me.

I know it’s 2019 now but I just looked into booking a room at Bellagio and it seems the platinum discount, which was a whopping 35% two years ago, has dropped all the way to 10%. There is basically no reason I can see to get platinum anymore. Might try that Nobu hotel at Ceasars.

I agree, Ceasars rewards are 1m times better. I am platinum at Mlife and Diamond at Ceasars and it doesn’t even compare. There is no reason to ever stay at an Mlife property when booking online with the platinum “discount” because booking online at Ceasars with diamond I get free rooms with no resort fees anytime I want. If I want “free” rooms at an mlife property I have to go through the hassle of calling my host and even then they won’t waive the resort fees until they review my play at checkout. Another big perk of Ceasars diamond is they give me free drinks at the bar just for showing my diamond card. Showing my platinum card at any mlife bar doesn’t get me anything.

I am platinum due to spend with MGM and diamond due to play with Caesars.

I am coming out for a week long solo and I was comparing rates for rooms at various hotels owned by the two companies.

What looked like a really good rate at Vdara turned bad when figuring in the resort fees. The cost of the room basically doubled.

That is one of the reasons I am booked with a Caesars property.

It’s been discussed before. The price difference between MGM and CET properties- even when comped- does somewhat reflect the quality difference between their properties. Caesars Palace isn’t as nice as the top MGM hotels, and the middle tier are generally better at MGM too. So you get what you pay for (which increasingly gets worse at both companies).

At least with M life you get free parking if you grind enough for pearl status

If you make diamond M Life will give you auto upgrade to gold. Gets you in the lounge at Borgata which is pretty nice. Not sure what Vegas perks are.

This is only at the Borgata, not any other MGM property.

Saw some blurb on VitalVegas apparently MGM is gutting Mlife discounts for next year which begins October 1st. Apparently they are moving to a non-refundable prepay route now as well.

From everything I've read and heard on earnings calls the past few months, sounds like comps are about to become all but worthless for anyone who isn't legit high roller status (Noir, Seven Star, etc.). The gold/silver/platinum-type tiers are getting cut across the board at all properties to amount to not much more than free parking.
