this will be my first extensive trip report, just got back into my original account here even though i read the board daily. We are doing our first of hopefully three trips this year, and will offer many pictures, hopefully many wins and analysis of great food and entertainment.

I was last in Vegas in early November as my wife wanted to see Britney before she quit. This trip we are heading out with another couple, and they all are headed for the food, pool, shopping and drink. I will mix in as much 2-5 PLO and 5-10 NL as I can.

So far:

Bellagio booked. ( my new favorite, as we always stayed at Palazzo)

We arrive at 6:30am on Thursday morning so breakfast at the Bellagio, early check in and the pool all morning.

Lago booked for an early dinner that evening.

Updates and plans coming soon.

It's a long way off (I'll be there before you -- March 28), but subbing for updates. Good luck and have fun.

Seriously. I know everyone's excited about their upcoming trip, but still. There's a thread called "When are you coming back to Vegas"
https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/1...5/index48.html

So post in there when you make your reservation, then let's say a week or a few days before your trip, start the TR. It's not like 2+2 runs out of server space and you have to reserve a thread 2 months ahead of time...

The reason I started the thread, and assumed it would fall of the first page fast, was the ability to get back into my original account after years of not having access.

the plan is to report on the buildup, once it got closer, sessions leading up to the trip as well.

I have a journalism degree, and have contemplated ways to make this really interesting.

Nice. How much action did you have to put in to rack up 40 free nights? Average wage / hours / game ?

I’m thinking he was looking at calendar view and counted how many nights were free. No way mlife would let anyone book 40 free nights up front lol

Excited to see this journalism degree in action

When I get back home or to a laptop I will screenshot the offers. I’m not sure how I’m on the list, or what list, but it’s offering four nights at every resort, and has replaced the offers at the two I’ve booked so far. My wife is now linked to my account and will be using an offer with her girlfriends I’m sure.

Obligatory shoe shot when I packed last night. Also, we are crashing soon, as we’ve been up 23 hours already.

So 3:30am and we are off the the airport. When you beat TSA to the security line by 15 minutes, you are up too early

These guys have had a rough week PR wise, but it’s still the easiest way to get to Vegas or Florida so it appears the engines are all in tact...and off we go!

Hello again my friend! After so many trips to Vegas over the years these last few have allowed me to appreciate the simple escape from day to day life and just get away for few days. It almost feels like a second home sometimes. Visitors like us I’m sure have not only their favorite spots, but a routine. It’s fun to mix it up, but hitting old standbys is always a must.

Cage Bellagio is going away this year. While this was delicious I think over medium eggs look better. Either way, a good start to the day.

What a cool installation.

Outdone by this one.

We lasted an hour at the pool. I’ve never seen wind here create actual waves in the pool. Friday will be much warmer I’m sure.

Dinner at Lago! The best thing I can say about how amazing this meal was?I only took one picture of the food. Sure, the food at great Italian restaurants in many towns is definitely on par with Lago or the other top places in town, but sitting fountain side with good friends and telling stories made for a memorable meal.

We pretty much knocked out the menu. The bruschetta was fresh, and just the right amount of acidity. The carpaccio, salads and meatballs were all fine. The only downside, and I liked the pizza, was the size. Even as a small plate it was on the small side.

Desserts were creative as we did the chocolate cake, tiramisu and some lemon cello creation. They were more art than taste, but delicious nonetheless. Then bill came in about $100 more than what a comparable place back home might charge.

One caveat. The James Beard winner my wife works for may do better Italian, but he doesn’t have this view!

I’ve now seen O twice and two things come to mind: it was brilliant the first go round, and the story was captivating. Now I watch it like a broadway show.

This time? I understand the plot less the I ever did. Oh well. The stunts are really good. My wife was a diver, so maybe that’s why we appreciate it so much. But man, for such an enjoyable show, this may have been my last viewing.

Contrast that with Hamilton, which I would see Over and over again. I know, not fair, but to me O is a two views and done type show. Great for what it is, the best in Vegas. But I’m curious how long these current shows will last. I know overall ticket sales have struggled for cirque lately, and yes it was crowded tonight. But how many people will keep coming out and seeing these same shows?

Great TR; lots of cool pics and good descriptions. I didn't know Cafe Bellagio was closing; I googled it; sounds like the new place will be good. I saw O for the first time during my 8th or 9th Vegas trip; I enjoyed it a lot, but don't feel compelled to go again.

Nice report. Keep it going. Bellagio Conservatory is one of my favorite places in the world. Is Café Bellagio closing? Always a good meal albeit expensive.

love the fountain view. Does Bellagio still have a channel you can tune to where you can listen to the music synced up with the fountain show?
