Dinner at Lago! The best thing I can say about how amazing this meal was?I only took one picture of the food. Sure, the food at great Italian restaurants in many towns is definitely on par with Lago or the other top places in town, but sitting fountain side with good friends and telling stories made for a memorable meal.
We pretty much knocked out the menu. The bruschetta was fresh, and just the right amount of acidity. The carpaccio, salads and meatballs were all fine. The only downside, and I liked the pizza, was the size. Even as a small plate it was on the small side.
Desserts were creative as we did the chocolate cake, tiramisu and some lemon cello creation. They were more art than taste, but delicious nonetheless. Then bill came in about $100 more than what a comparable place back home might charge.
One caveat. The James Beard winner my wife works for may do better Italian, but he doesn’t have this view!
