Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong forum...

I am heading to Vegas this upcoming Saturday, the day before the Super Bowl. It's alledgedly for a work conference, but we know how that goes.

Usually I plant my ass at the Bellagio for 5/10 all week, but I want to play both PLO and mixed games... PLO up to 5/10 and mix either 20/40 or 40/80... pref the 20/40 since I have very little idea how fo play some of the games. Any specific casinos where these are regular?

there isn't a regular mix at the 20/40 level. But there is a 9/18 mix at wynn nearly everyday that starts around 5pm.

I would think on a busier weekend, at least one of the 3 of 20/40, 30/60, 40/80 should be going at Bellagio?

Yep for sure unless something's changed in the last 6 months.

I have a few questions. Do the 9/18 30/60 40/80 and 80/160 have a similar mix of games? Is there anywhere to find which games are usually included?

Last time I checked which was like a year ago, the 20/40 had most of the HORSE games plus a couple more while 40/80 was a very wild (10?) game mix that included weird stuff like Badacey and Badeucey and at least two super stud variants. My friend who played in that game told me he was a little scared first because he had no idea about super stud games but at least based on his reporting afterwards nobody else had any clue either. A year later, I assume they either changed the mix or people figured those games out by now.

Thanks. I’ve never played any of the weirder games that aren’t available online and I’m also a little scared to just jump into them at highish stakes. I’m hoping them 9/18 game has some of them so I can learn them at a reasonable price.

There was a TR in this forum fairly recently where the OP played in a number of sessions in the B mixed games fwiw (on mobile or otherwise I’d try to find a link)

Thanks for the heads up. Just read the thread. It seems the 20/40 has a kill and is mostly super stud games and draw games (badugi 2-7 and Archie) with o8 in it also.

Theres a vegas mixed games facebook group. You must look at it.

I tried to post a link but cant for some reason.

Just google for facebook mixed poker vegas or something.

They are always posting where there is going to be a mixed game. The stakes usually seem to be between 4-8 and 9-18 i think.

A lot of times they will either say which games they will play in the post, or someone will say it in the comments.

Its a public group so you can read it even if you dont have facebook.

Thanks guys. I'll be there from later today until Friday, losing copious amounts of money in games I haven't played before.

Free 20k up for grabs!

I'm a lurker in that aforementioned Vegas FB group (since I'm not a Vegas local) but I think they mostly only post up to 9/18 since that's what the group members are interested in. If you post our OP in there, you'll prob get info about the Bellagio higher stakes games but also note that just because those games aren't mentioned in the FB group often doesn't mean they don't run every day. I check Bellagio on Bravo every few days for lulz and I always see 40/80 mix but haven't seen lower than that at least in a long while. Also judging from the FB group the lower mixes at least have a ton of Drawmaha and associated variants, but idk if that's true at higher stakes too. Glgl and have fun! Long live mixed games and I look forward to joining you at the tables some day.

Cheers for the heads up on the FB group.

Might have to see if I can give some money away in the lower stakes mixed games in the summer.

Pretty clueless, but don't mind donating a bit if the game is fun to play in.

Also the Wynn 9/18 game is like printing money if you know the games halfway decently.

Thanks. Just subbed to that page.

Is the mix at Wynn a lot of unusual games, or the more standard 8/10?

Got a couple months to try and at least learn the rules if there are any funky ones

Last year during WSOP it was unusual games, including Stud hi/low no qualifier and all the badugi split pot games; can't recall if double board omaha was in the mix. Like 15 games or so.

Thanks

I'm bad enough in the 8game on Stars, I would probably just piss everyone off in that game, even though I'd be a massive fish.

Nah, the regs there are pretty patient with new mix players for obvious reasons, . They will be happy to explain the rules, and what a general decent hand is in each game that is new to you if you ask.

The 70+ crowd in the stud game will be annoyed if you ask questions. Mixed game players are ecstatic about new players who don’t know the rules of the games.

I might have a look in over the summer, then. Thanks.

How long does it take before the regs get annoyed with a new player being a nit?

Usually the nit gets annoyed first at not having as much fun as the rest of the table.
