I always tought there was a 72 hour wait periode between comped rooms, but during my stay this month i’ve noticed that all you need is -1- paid night before comps are back on the menu.

1-7th of june i stayed at park. 4 nights comped, 2 payed. Day of checkout, i got 3 nights comped on excal up on my mgm app from 7-10th. stayed at a airbnb 10th-13th, then park again from 13-17th.

Then i tested my theory, and after paying for 1 night at Luxor, then waiting until the resort fee for that night had been charged to my room (happened at like 2 am) i got the option to comp rooms from saturday.

Anyone else experiencing this? Basicly this week i have 6 nights comped (with comped resort fee as a sapphire member) and 2x 150$ food credit.

Before the resorts fee were charged to my room, park mgm was quoted as 135$ + resort fee.

Couple of questions -

Is MGM still matching Caesar's Diamond with MGM Gold in Las Vegas?

If I am matched on a trip, can I get the resort fees waived on that same trip or am I stuck with them having booked prior to matching?

I matched at the end of June without issue.

Would I be correct in saying MGM expires later than January, and I could status match my caesars diamond now to MGM Gold and then back again next summer? Or do they check play/points etc?

Just because someone matches in June does not mean that will expire in June. I don't have my MGM card handy, but I recall it expires sometime near the beginning of the year. Might even be before CET TR.

MGM definitely not only won't but can't check your points/play at CET. CET can't check MGM. So IF they don't expire at the same time (I don't think they do), IF the first to expire is offering a match when they expire and IF you can get there before the other one expires, you might be able to match back.

Does anyone know which pools you can access with a gold card if any? I know diamond was able to access some pools without being a guest, not sure if that is still the case.

Has anybody figured out the formula they use to calculate tier credits from Video Poker?

We used to average 2k - 3k tier credits from each 1 -1-1/2 hour session, leisurely playing between 3 and 6 lines of quarters at max credits on a 98% game (9/6 TDB). Around 30 sessions per year and we were comfortably Gold Card holders.

Now, it seems, we struggle to earn 1,000 tier point from the same gaming efforts.

It is a bit convoluted, but by running $100 once through a 7/5 Jacks-or-Better machine (tough deal), for a theoretical loss of $3.83 this dude reports to earn 33 tier credits.

If my calculation is right (?) that means, that you earn one tier credit for a theoretical loss of 11.6 cents. So we would need to run $6,270 through a 98.15% return 9/6 TDB machine to earn just 1,000 tier credits. This is clearly not correct.

Any input or experiences much appreciated

In order to earn tier credits by playing in the casino, you’ll need to earn base points which are then matched by a multiplier in tier credits and used to determine your rewards. For every $3 you wager on slots, you will earn 1 base point (10 tier credits) and for every $10 wagered on video poker and speciality games you’ll earn 1 base point equal to 10 tier credits. For table games, the formula isn’t published on the site but it’s rumored that you’ll earn around 300 base points per hour at blackjack with a $25 bet.
That's from this article:

According to this thread, the base rate is 8 TC per $1 in theo (very close to the 1 TC/11.6c you reported). But the thread also mentions that some machines seem to be overly generous in calculating theo, especially in Atlantic City.

I locked up Gold again for next year via the MGM Mastercard, but I think I'm done playing this game. I love the MGM properties (hate Harrahs/Caesars). I'll spend 10-11 nights at Bellagio/Aria this summer so not having to pay the $50 resort fee will be great, but I think I get more value from using other charge cards and cashing out the benefits via frequent flier miles. And I doubt I spend enough to hit Platinum, so trying to maintain Gold seems a waste.

Yes, MGM is still tier matching Gold to RCL's Diamond. I've been doing this for well over a decade, most recently on my Las Vegas trip over Memorial Day. I can't answer your question about upgrading after check in, but if you think that will be a problem, why not just go to the Rewards Desk first, get your upgrade to Gold, and then go check in?

For those with MGM platinum in Vegas Cosmo is tier matching and it's good for a year from the date of your match.

Main benefits are no resort fees,2 comped nights and 2 comped companion nights ,half off the wicked spoon buffet and skipping lines.

By your benefit list, I assume the match is to Identity Gold? If it's platinum there are quite a few more benefits.

Unless you have to earn some benefits, then $250 annual resort credit and airport transportation, as well as others are also nice. Everything you listed is with gold.

I thought tier credits reset on January 1st of each year ... mine have not reset and my app is still showing my total from 2022. It's even showing new tier credits that I've earned in the past few days, which has added to my total from 2022. Is this the case for anyone else???

Mine is doing this as well. After seeing this I feel even more comfortable about giving up the MGM rewards game and just eating the resort fees when/if I stay at their properties beyond 2023. MGM needs to get their **** together.

Mine reset as well, but it’s absolutely insane what “benefits” they give. It’s very sad and I won’t give them any action this year. The $600 air fare and the $200 food credit for platinum for 2023 is there but you have to earn 200k points AGAIN to get them. So what exactly does Platinum get me, except waived resort credits? Quite a steal for $150 000 wagered.

This means you reached 200k last year. You were able to redeem these benefits when you reached 200k last year, no?

Your consternation seems misplaced. So it took 3 days, which was first working day of the year, to reset the credit count. BFD. So long as any 2023 earned credits were left alone, what is the problem?

You expected 2022 credits to carry into 2023? Why?

Mine finally reset this morning. But with the increased difficulty earning tier credits now being 4x per dollar spent as opposed to the old 8x, it's gonna be hard to maintain gold for next year.

Also, as an aside, my Caesars Rewards balances reset to 0 on January 1st, around mid-day. I just figured these things were automatically built in to their computer systems which is why I was wondering why it was taking so long for MGM.

Yes, but I’m still platinum for 2023 so wouldn’t it make sense to have the rewards while I’m platinum?
