What's the best way to see when your status expires? I'm still showing Gold for now, albeit with my 120k points wiped, and I'm almost certain I'll never be able to hit 75k again under the new system.

I finally got tier matched to Gold. This was from matching from Caesars Diamond at the end of January.

Regarding the $100 Tier Status Dining Credit, there is a reference to *75K Tier Credits Required. So sounds like if all you do is match then you don't get the Dining Credit.

This is true even after you get gold, which sucks. I only got to know about this last week while in Vegas. So you need to earn Gold status and once you have done that you need to earn another 75k for the dinner credit.

Sounds like getting Gold from poker room hours doesn’t do it then.

Can confirm my friend got Gold (150 hours at Aria) this trip and apart from waived resort fees he got no offers or anything.

Is MGM still upgrading based on Royal Caribbean status? In the past, I was able to upgrade to Gold based on my Royal Caribbean status. If they still do, can I upgrade after check-in and then get my resort fees waived for the trip?

From what I've been told, this is because the dinner credit (as well as the flight credit perk) are new, and only available to those who newly earn platinum with credits earned in 2022 (for 2023). So kinda sucks as technically platinum lost some perks in 2022 but don't receive the new ones.

(I got some tier status for having an MLife credit card, but I could not tell you what I ever used that status for other than one or two meals comps.

It is a real mistake to chase status or points or whatever crumbs you're thrown, ......f*ck em, just play your game that you enjoy, tip dealers and servers well, and let the casino chase you for their revenue stream.)

I have the MLife credit card and for the past 6-7 years have been doing all my spending on it to earn points and pretty much eating for free for a week every year. You could use the points on anything Mlife, stores in the hotels, food at 90% of the restaurants and even on your room balance.

Covid has cancelled my last 2 years so I have around $850 in points saved up and was pretty excited about it because I am finally going back this July. After the changes, I logged into my account and they have converted (conveniently so they say) all of my points to "slot dollars". Basically now, no free anything except slot play. UGH.

Run it through video poker once
Honestly I'd rather have 850 slot dollars over 850 comp dollars

How many hours of poker does it take to get the minimum status for free parking under the new system?

I'm thinking of getting the MGM credit card just to skip to the free parking - any reason not to?

Still 75 hours for Pearl, 150 for Gold. If you’re really close to 75 even Bellagio is willing to combine hours from another MGM room to give you Pearl.

It worked for me, but that was a number of years ago. Still valid in 2022, with very little MGM play, other than running $1 thru a video poker machine annually to keep it alive.

Still have food comps accrued to use, denominated in USD.

I may be mistaken, but I doubt poker counts for anything.

Bellagio will also validate parking, provided you log at least four hours in at the poker table. You'll need a player's card and have to have it logged in to track the hours.

I've never heard of an mlife validating parking. Is that just the bellagio that does it or anywhere else?

Now I am concerned about an assumption I made above in post 64, that my status and food comps still exist .....sounds like fodder for a possible class action, as you earned X before the change. Next month, when I am in Las Vegas, I'll check to see if my balance of meal comps was materially changed.

Thanks for the heads-up

Not sure, but my MLife got me free parking for years past, I got the MLife because I had the credit card ..... I'll check when I get to town next month.

In the Park MGM garage they still have a sign up promoting the card saying it will give you free parking (because getting it upgrades your status to Pearl).

Never heard of getting free parking from playing 4 hours before, that’s interesting if true.

No idea if any of the other rooms are doing it. I'm not even certain how long Bellagio poker room has been doing it. But it is an option if you'd prefer to rack up the hours for a status bump without getting the credit card, doing a status match, or trying to earn through non-poker means.

Just make sure you have your player's card, make sure it's getting logged in at each table, and make sure you've brought the parking ticket that you got from the kiosk.

Simple question, how do the slot dollars work? I hardly ever touch slots, but appears my Mlife points from last year converted over into these. Is it just freeplay on the slot machine by using that balance from the card by entering your pin?

Yeah you put your card in the slot, enter your PIN and then go through the menu to freeplay and download it to the machine. At most machines you also need to put in act least a little bit of cash but then it won't actually use your cash unless you use up all your free play. You just have to gamble at least the amount of the free play. So if you have $100 free play on a $1-$5 video poker machine, you tell it to download the $100, put in at least $5 cash, play 20 hands of VP at max bet, then cash out and you'll get back whatever you won plus the $5 cash you put in.

Normally you can cash out your winnings anytime. The machine will pay you back any cash you entered plus any winnings and leave the balance of free play on the machine. Some machines will give you a message that free play can’t be cashed out. I have seen a few machines that will tell you either the cash or free play balance in the text window where player info is displayed.

Some places if you pull your players card out, any remaining free play on the machine goes back in your card. Some places it stays on the machine and any free play you down load must be played on that machine. So don’t download $2k on a quarter slot 5min before your dinner reservation.

I received an invitation for the MGM Mastercard that automatically makes you Pearl status. The paperwork also talked about earning points AND tier credits with money spent on the card. Are these tier credits the same as the tier credits earned when gambling?

So if I'm trying to get to 75,000 tier credits in order to get to Gold status and avoid resort fees, I could theoretically do this with just credit card spending? Is that correct?
