The entire reason comps exist to begin with is psychological. Losing 2k at the tables feels the same as losing 1600 mentally but losing 2k and getting 400 dollars in food/hotel comps feels way better to lost people than losing 1600.
I don't know what the number is but at some point people are gonna push back at these fees.when they were 5-10 bucks a day whatever but what are they gonna be in 5 years? 75-100 a night? Eventually it won't fly especially at lower end properties.People at **** holes like circus circus paying these fees can't last forever.
But before then I wouldn't be shocked if at some point Caesars properties stop letting diamond members skate on the resort fees.
I did the whole clubbing thing a few times between in my 20s between 2006-11, but never went crazy. I'd sooner spend my money on a nice meal and a few drinks, or a show. Horses for courses, so good luck to the ones who do enjoy it.
I spend a month there every summer, and just factor the fees into the costs.
I've got no knowledge of any other US cities, but have read on other forums that RFs were over $100 for a hotel they stayed at when travelling the US, and the parking was ~$30 p/n, too.
I can't remember exactly where I read it, or I'd look for it. No idea if it's true, but they said that compared to other places they're not that bad. We get rinsed for hotel prices in cities over here, so I guess that softens the blow some. However, given the nosedive in exchange rates for us the last 10 years, I'm probably not far from having to move back downtown for my summers
I've never got the whole playing for comps mentality. I'd sooner just pay what I pay, and have no obligation to do anything other than what I please. I'm on holiday, and don't want to feel obligated to gamble just so they might throw me a free steak, or a cheap show ticket.
