No the lot doesn’t close. And A LOT of people are incredibly lazy when it comes to walking and exercise. Just look at how much people care about how long the walk is from the parking lot to the poker room. The closest parking spots to elevators tend to be the busiest because people hate walking.

Also there are plenty of out of shape people and walking is a lot tougher on them. Same is true for older people.

A lot of people bring guests too or need to get somewhere on time. They aren’t likely to park there just to avoid a $15 parking fee.

MGM doesn’t give away comps that easily. When they started the fees hotel guests definitely had to pay. I haven’t heard about any changes to that. Their website literally said the parking fees would conveniently be added to your bill if you were staying at one of their hotels. Yes, they actually said that.

Do you have to pay parking charge when staying there even if you don't have a car?

You only pay the fee if you park there. You don’t pay if you don’t bring a car. But you still pay a resort fee which is different and covers all resort amenities besides parking

Quick solution, drive to the V and park for free. Walk (or uber) from there.
O ok good to know they offer free as well. A few posts prior someone said they validate for poker players for x number of hours for poker as per Wynn.

Did you have a block on your credit reports? This is an anti-fraud move that I had in place and had to remove in order to get approval.

Don't give them any ideas. Next they'll be charging you for Cirque shows that you don't see.

Your own fault if you don’t use those tickets that are part of your $199/day (+tax) entertainment fee.

You can only open 5 credit cars over a two year period now. Not sure if that's it, but it'll cause people to get declined.

This is an incorrect blanket statement. Chase holds to the 5/24 but even that is not an absolute. However, Chase has nothing to do with the MGM card which is actually issued and managed by First National Bank of Omaha.

Plenty of people are getting far more than five cards in any rolling two-year period of time...they just don't get them from Chase.

Edited to add that, yes, I have the MLife card.

Didn't realize that rule only generally applied to Chase cards. Haven't opened any cars since the Reserve. The Chase Hyatt Visa use to get you automatic Gold Status but now it'll get you Pearl. That has a yearly fee though and they watered down the signup bonus compared to a few years ago. (Use to be worth upto 1500 bucks if you worked it the right way)

Just stayed 3 nights at NYNY comped through my wife's play. We were told up front that parking would be $15/night but might be waived based on our (her) play. Additionally we would be charged the daily resort fee. Checked out this morning and the bill for our comped stay was $170. That included $45 for parking so I guess that might be removed although my wife said she didn't play that much there so we'll see.

To me the only redeeming aspect of the parking fee is that you do get in/out privileges and you can park at other M Life properties by using your room key. One night we went to Bellagio and were able to park without having to pay. Yay!

Browsing the M-Life website regarding parking fees.

Is it correct if I’m staying at Luxor ($10/day self park) that I can park at ANY other mgm property w in and out privileges just for the $10/day rate from Luxor?

Ex. Staying 3 days = $30. And I have access to park at aria, mirage, bellagio etc throughout the trip

Correct, and please keep in mind that this new fee is to improve your parking experience. Enjoy!

Im not a fan of the fees (who is!?) but if they give you access at no additional charge to other sister properties on the strip then that is reasonable IMO.

Better to just get their credit card. Get free parking and $110 in comps.

How long does the free parking with MGM card last? I still have the CET card but no longer get free parking.

You just have to charge something on the card every 6 month or year or something I believe and you will keep free parking.

I would have to look into it closer to make sure tho.

I hadn't heard about the free comps offer. Does the card have yearly fees?

I just checked the fine print and it says you stay at Pearl as long as the card is “open and in good standing” so that makes it sound like you don’t even have to ever use it

No fees. I believe you charge $1000+ in the 1st 3 months and get $100 worth of comp points and you will get another $10 from the $1000 charged.

Mandalay/Luxor free parking tip. There is free valet (tip expected) for the Mandalay Shops. The lot entrance is next to the Luxor off Mandalay Bay Road. Open 24 hours. They are pretty efficient using text messaging to check and retrieve your car.

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Raising Resort Fee After Offering Guests Free Parking

"Guests who aren’t physically active or attempting to communicate with others using archaic methods of yesteryear don’t benefit from the daily $35 resort fee that the resort currently charges." lol

They're in your head. They have convinced you that something you're paying for today but yesterday was free is of value to you.

The suggestion to get the credit card is made pretty frequently around here, but it's not like there isn't a cost involved even if you don't use it or pay it off every month. If I'm taking on additional credit, it will impact my credit rating. If that's of no practical concern, then yeah go for it but that won't be true for everyone.

Taking on additional credit in most cases will help your credit score by allowing any carried balance to be less of a % of available credit.

I pay all my cc bills in full each month but the amounts are still like a carried balance to the credit bureau, since I charge that much each month.
