Which room did you ask the floor at? Perhaps asking at a room that has been player friendly about this already based on examples above would yield a more positive experience. If you did make your request at one of the rooms players have already had positive experiences at then maybe you got a lazy floor sup and you should try a different person later.

Free parking for Nevadans. Guess you have register your car too, and it is more than CA as of 4 years ago.

The "up to 24 hours" will curb those locals who park at MGM to avoid parking fees at the airport.

Yeah. I left my car at Cosmopolitan for 6 weeks last year.

Speaking of which--how soon before they start charging for parking? It's a pretty easy walk from their lot to Vdara.

It starts June 6.

This link has plenty of info and you can also watch the videos on there. The videos would be a lot better though if they didn't act like they were doing us all a favor by charging. They act like their customers are idiots.

What a cluster.

They've turned something as simple as parking into something that needs explaining with videos, charts, tables, info graphics, bulletted lists, a FAQ page (with 67 questions), I mean jesus christ what a convoluted mess.

What is closest non-mgm property parking lot to park at for Aria and Bellagio poker rooms? I am thinking Cosmopolitan for both? Maybe Ceasar's lot is closer to Bellagio room? I know the PH lot is way at the back of the mall.

People like you are going to get CET to start charging for parking. Just play at non-MGM properties. The games will be good everywhere during the series.

Did you make the request with the same wording and tone that you used in this post?

Because what you posted here comes off very entitled. When something new starts up, there's always a huge amount of confusion at the ground level because there may be contradictory instructions given to employees by management and inconsistent rulings by different managers. It may take a while for you to get what you deserve, and it may take a while to figure out what you deserve.

Even if you know you played 164 hours 23 minutes and 13.8 seconds, it's a lot less confrontational to start off by asking how many hours you have, and how many are needed for the next level. If they realize you're close they may bump you. If you want to contest your hours, it's unlikely that a customer-facing employee is going to have the authority to change that. You probably need to ask in the back, politely, and maybe they'll ask to bring in your records "to help resolve the discrepancy."

And don't discount the possibility they're right. Maybe they subtracted all your bathroom breaks and you included them. And this is where the sense of entitlement really hurts - if you act like someone who deserves something, their response is going to be, well, they'll let the computer decide if you deserve it. On the other hand, if you act like a nice guy who's confused and disappointed, they'll be more likely to do a manual override.

This may appear unrelated but it's not: everyone makes (or used to make) a big deal about the $20 "trick," the secret set of words that somehow forces people into giving you an upgrade. The truth is that at least in the past there was an even better trick, the "ask politely and get an upgrade for free" trick. The real trick is to act like you won't throw a hissy fit if you don't get it.

I am just one guy, I won't tip the balance. There's a tournament at Aria I want to play. And I sometimes travel there outside the series when Bellagio is the only place that spreads games I want to play.

MLK was only one guy. Gandhi was only one guy. Think about it.

Yep. Mostly the locals who work for tips. They'd rather give the money to a cabbie than the port.

Your just one guy posting about doing it and telling others. You might see how that can impact more than your simply doing it.

Not at all. It's about the cost. If the cost were to run the same people wouldn't do it just to support cab drivers.

Parking at a different property is a pretty obvious solution. I don't think anyone is going to read my post and have a light bulb go on.

Also, if everyone started parking at Cosmopolitan or PH or wherever, I think this is more likely to lead to MGM removing their parking charges than the other places implementing them. Because PH might be annoyed if their parking lot is always full, but MGM is going to be even more annoyed if theirs is always empty. And they will assume people are not just parking, but also playing, at different places.

Go back 10 years, replace "parking charges" with "resort fees" and "parking lots" with "hotels", and see how well that worked out.

Yeah kinda like when CET properties claim to fame was "no resort fee ever" and then we started getting railed with resort fee's

Wasn't aware that MGM parking lots started being empty after they started doing resort fees.

You guys go ahead and pay your parking charges and I will just ask around where the cheapest non-MGM property is to park at when I get there, since apparently no one here wants to help.

The concern isn't that everyone does it the concern is that enough people do it that it bothers the neighbors.

Of course if instead of just parking at the neighbor you give them some business that would be an agreement for them not to charge parking fees....
