I dunno. The system my company uses can be set up to check whether the incoming e-mail contains certain words (say: "parking" "ripoff" and "money-grubbing leaches") and send an autoresponse in reply if it does.

All of you complaining about how greedy MGM is realize that it's a public company, right? If you think they're going to fleece the tourists, you can buy stock. If you think it's going to destroy them, you can short their stock.

Hmm, you would likely have to buy a lot of stock to make a profit of $10 a day...

While this sucks, I actually just think this is bad business and will likely cost them some customers and overall not really generate any extra money for them but I have a lot less of a problem with it then deceitful resort fees that provide nothing of value. While I hope the poker rooms will validate parking,at least this won't be a hidden fee and I would be getting charged for parking which I'll actually be using rather than hidden fees that charge customers for **** they will never use.But MGM at least spare me the bs of this is better for the customers.Hell maybe Cesar's could make the argument that their terrible lots need to be updated but I'm always in and out of the bellagio and aria very fast.

If you had shorted MGM stock on the day this thread was created, and sold today, 323 shares would have done it.

Isn't that sort of like telling everyone where the "Best" 1/2nl or 2/5nl games are? Will make the "Best" alternatives diminish if everyone finds out about them.

At the MGM check-in desk, will the first bag still be free, or will there be a $25 charge?

Free.

You'll earn airline mileage based on the actual number of miles between the elevator and your room.

That's like a free round trip to Hawaii in like 3 stays.

Can a mod change the name of the thread to be more appropriate?

My humble suggestion is: Why Vegas Hates Poker Players

Poker players are only a small percentage of the people complaining about this. The comments here are actually not as harsh as other comments I've seen from locals and tourists who use cars in Vegas. It's been all over the news and is a pretty big deal in Vegas.

I've never actually shorted a stock so I have no idea what the terms are. Sorry.

The point was that if you really believed this move was earth-shatteringly good or earth-shatteringly bad, you could just make a bunch of money off of either case and then use all the money you make off the stock to pay for parking.

I was thinking of shorting CET a few years ago and that would have been a good deal.

I briefly messed with Stocks and Forex, When shorting, you are selling at the current price before you even own any stock and then at a later date you will buy the stock at hopefully much less price than you sold it for and profit. If price goes up and you want out then you buy at higher price than you sold and lose money.

I have no idea whether this move will be good/bad for their bottom line, or (more to the point) how/if it will affect their stock price, or (even more to the point) whether parking fees will be the key factor in determining their stock price. Is it okay if I continue to have a personal opinion about it?

What, so you guys are saying that MGM stock has gone up recently? From C's comment about shorting I thought they had gone down. This is disappointing news...

I think the point is more like (for most ITT) that this takes away severely from the quality of LV. Whether or not this will be + or -EV for MGM overall remains to be seen but this is none of our concerns.

Not terribly surprising. Company has been losing revenue. CEO announces plan that should generate more revenue. Investors buy stocks on speculation that company will make more money. We won't see the real effect until this policy actually comes to life.
