Ummm, more so referring to the fact that the CDC said that vaccinated people do not carry the virus.

Yeah ok I get that. What I don’t follow is where the article says people’s risk of infection goes down 90% after both doses, or even to 95% in another study. Then the CDC says without infection, people are unable to spread the virus. If there’s a 5-10% chance that a fully innoculated person can get infected, then once he/she is infected, he can transmit the virus. Yet the director said that vaccinated people do not carry the virus. Seems to me that there’s still a chance they can but maybe I’m parsing it too narrowly.

And now the CDC has walked back the Director’s comments and now say “the evidence isn’t clear whether vaccinated people can spread the virus to others.” And “it’s possible that some people who are fully vaccinated could get COVID-19.”

Because you entire understanding of efficacy is misguided. 90% efficacy does not mean a 10% chance of infection.

We could go back and forth analyzing the data but it would be far tldr. In the end there are no absolutes but current chances that a fully vaccinated person will pass the virus is rare but not impossible

Whatever, once everyone who wants a vaccine gets one there won't be enough covid going around to overload the hospitals. So they should open up 100%.

Some people are going to get sick like some people get the flu. As long as its not gonna overload hospitals its crazy to keep everything closed.

This seems to be the most logical and common sense thing to do, so hopefully this happens. But logic and common sense seem to be on the back burner these days.

Well it's politics. But there will a lot of pressure to open up. Both from the tourist industry and the locals.

They carry it, but it's a matter if a large enough viral load can be built up in a vaccinated person to be contagious. When the vaccines were approved for use, the pharma companies didn't know.

For now, please keep that mask on your snout, whether you are vaccinated or not.

Other and more vulnerable people's lives are likely to depend on it.

I've heard Fauxchi say recently if you get vaccinated you can hug your grandma, etc.

It's crazy to keep anything closed as long as hospitals won't be overloaded any more.

Follow the money. If we require 100% certainty and 100% perfect protection live can never resume normality. Why might govt desire to encourage such? Do biological scientist ever speak of absolutes?

I would read the walk back very closely. It is not convincing to me. Don’t forget this same cdc official was pleading for mask use 24 hours earlier. She is a scientist with much more info than you or I. This isn’t a Trump political spokesperson out there chirping.

Why haven’t those more vulnerable people taken the vaccine? At some point widespread mask usage will cause more disease than the spread of COVID-19 it will prevent. Masks will likely still be a overall ev+ for disease prevention but that was true long before COVID-19. So why is a mask requirement now correct when barely over a year ago it would not fly?

Btw, I wore a mask this am to Easter service covering my snout even though I am fully vaccinated and it was not required. But that was my choice and I will thank you to keep your snout out of my business.

According to this CBS News article, what referenced doctor said was something along the lines of "if grandma is vaccinated, she can hug her healthy grandkids".

Not quite the same.

Keep up the masks guys. Y’all are doing great. Doesn’t matter how many trillions we have to go in debt or how many small businesses go out of business. If we can save even just one grandma it’s worth it!

Is there any word on when the plexiglass might come down? It inhibits so many aspects of the game. I see an article that it came down at Ellis Island, but wondering abiut poker rooms and when it will end there.
