One week til Vegas. McLovin is heading to Brooklyn today to watch his beloved Wake Forrest try to fight their way into the Dance. My son Pixelboy and I will be heading there Thursday night to watch FSU and Notre Dame and whatever patsies they draw.

Just spent Friday night into Saturday in AC with McLovin again. Or rather, we drove down together. I have a longstanding policy against sharing hotel rooms with anyone other than Mrs. Pixel, but he could only get one comped room so it was that or the dumpster behind Harrah's. Too cold for that. Lucky for me, once we got checked in, had dinner, and played a brief blackjack session together he disappeared. I played cash at Harrah's poker and finally hit the hay around 5 AM. When I woke up at 11, he had never come back to the room. Showered, gathered my gear and went to the Borgata for the 100k tournament. I found him in the craps pit, deep into a 13 hour session. Degen hero.

Our freaky east coast weather has been messing with us. Bizarre 60 degree days in February. 25 degrees this past weekend. Going back up to 60 tomorrow and down to the 20s again this weekend. The forecast for Vegas next week is low 80s with 0% chance of rain. Every day. Yesssss.

Just talked to ABC and I lost the bet, he's booked into the Aria. So now I have to pay for the Death Cab tickets and go see them with ABC. He's a conservative wing nut and ardent Trump fan, something we love to give him grief over. I wonder how he's gonna feel when he hears their new music:

Also going to be in town MM week for some NCAA gambling and PLO/O8/NL. Probably play mostly at Aria/Bellagio/Wynn. HMU to say hello always good to know the 2p2ers around. I saw a 10/25 NL/PLO rotation running at Bellagio today around noon (checking Bravo app already to get a sense of the games) - anyone know how the games have been in general?

After one of the mildest winters in recent memory, Old Man Winter decides to lash out with one last donkey punch. It was nearly 60 degrees in the area 36 hours ago. Currently, it's about 18 degrees with 30 mph winds.


I love the northeast.

Forecasts for Tuesday through Wednesday (when I'll be attempting to fly to Vegas) are currently calling for the possibility of freezing temps, 50 mph winds and anywhere between 8-30 inches of snow.


Snowmageddon 2017?

Not sure yet how this will affect travel plans, if I'll have to head to Vegas 2 days early or 1 day late. I'd hate to miss a day of the Dance in the sport books, but I also don't relish the idea of two extra days in town and all of the extra $ and lost sleep that entails.

I did ship the WSOP 10k last night though (brag), so I've got the extra flash if needed. But 6 nights in Vegas may be more than my system can handle.

I've been meeting up in LV with buddies on the first MM weekend for about 15 years now. My trip reports (and friends, for that matter) are considerably less interesting than Pixel's, though. Enjoyed the read.

Most of the guys had to bail this year, and I uncharacteristically wasn't able to block out the whole weekend, either. So I'll be there from the 13th to the 17th, staying and (mostly) playing at Aria. Supposed to be cold but not windy or snowy on the 13th, so I'm optimistic about the outbound flight.

If you just want to watch basketball for cheap, Gold Coast is setting up a room with big screens, $2 hot dogs, $15 bucket of 6 beers, etc. Free entry afaik.

Seriously sweating the flights out tomorrow. Current snowfall estimates are horrific, but it's supposed to be essentially over by Wednesday morning. My flight not til 5 PM local time, maybe they'll be caught up by then? McLovin has a morning flight scheduled, no way he leaves on time. Aaaaargh.

Dude, seriously, take the earlier flight. I hear you about being in Vegas too long, but missing part or all of the trip due to weather is unacceptable.

This year I'm going out Wednesday to Sunday. My wife laughed at me because she says I come back a shell of man after three nights, but after 4 nights she expects me to be close to dead.

I see now that I wrote "tomorrow". We are both flying Wednesday. Flying today was not an option for work reasons. As of now, all air traffic is cancelled in the NYC area. Snow is supposed to tail off around dinner time tomorrow, would give them almost 24 hours to clean up and clear backlog before my scheduled flight. Fingers crossed.

Got away from upstate NY before Snowmageddon, but ran into it at my connection in Detroit. We were all set to land, with the gear down, then suddenly we were gaining altitude again. The captain told us the plane that landed before us almost skidded off the end of the runway. Not sure he needed to share that while we were still in the air...

But all ended well, only an hour or so late into Vegas. Currently pissing away $100 at $1-3.

Snowmageddon had less teeth than expected in NYC, though it was only 20 degrees this morning. McLovin's flight left on time this morning and mine left more or less on time in the afternoon. Landed and rode from the airport with the windows gloriously open. Threw my gear in the room at Caesar's, got bets in for the morning games. Currently at Bellagio to open a PlayMGM account then may play a short PLO session at Aria before retiring at a reasonable hour.
