Grazie encouraged us to swipe everywhere as well. I just never felt the benefits were there long term. That said, the Palazzo is beautiful.

To me, mLife has the best rewards in comped rooms, where others may have better gaming specific rewards. We definitely get out points from resort spend more then gamble, as my wife does not gamble.

Every time I see Shadow Creek it's hard to believe it is right in the middle of North Las Vegas. I am looking forward to hearing about your round.

March 27-31 Legendary Trip Report (early preview)

Shadow Creek 10/10
My game 7/10
Caddie 9/10

Where do I start? First, the course arranged transportation via limo. I assumed it rolls up, picks you up and whisks you off. I head down 20 minutes early and look out across the fountains and wait for the driver to pull up. Then I hear, Mr (Mizzoulegend), are you ready?

The course uses the existing fleet of mlife limos stationed at the hotel. This is crazy convenient, but threw a wrench into my partners plans. I hop in, and the driver asks if i know my playing partner. Yeah, sure. And we head to get him. Uh oh! He thinks he is getting picked up in 20 minutes by a different limo and is at breakfast. So my limo takes me to Starbucks!! I like this guy already.

The limo is parked outside Vdara in this shot, it seems like the easiest Starbucks access we could find.

We pick up my buddy, and off to the course.

Re: March 27-31 Legendary Trip Report (early preview)

We get to the gates and security verifies I’m Mizzoulegend and once the gates open, the next part is surreal. Imagine driving up to Augusta or some resort seemingly miles off the road. Yeah, it’s only a short drive, but any resemblance to the desert just vanished and The Carolinas just appeared. The old white clubhouse is quaint, one story and understated. It’s understated in a way that unless you are invited, you know not to walk in. The course pro greets us, and our caddie “Stick” grabs our bags and takes them away.

We head inside for the tour, and quickly arrive in the locker room. We skip breakfast, which makes me mad a bit, but i acquiesce to my partner who just ate.

There are 100+ lockers and you’ve heard of most of the folks who have them. Halfway during the round, Stick lets us know a secret of shadow creek. The nameplates are removable, quickly, and a bunch are on top of the lockers. That way, when a member or regular guest shows up, they get their locker. I wonder if they even know who they share them with otherwise.

All of the presidents have lockers as well, except Trump, which surprised me. I wondered if the Wynn connection being gone affected that choice.

One other tidbit. I know many take photos of these lockers. We were convinced the lighting is purposely set up above to make sure you don’t get a good photo. It took three tries to get the first one to come out.

Re: March 27-31 Legendary Trip Report (early preview)

The first hole!

This long par 4 plays as a slight dog leg and the farther right you go, it makes the second shot really long. It becomes a par five for many. Go left and miss? You’re dropping a ball quick. After watching us on the range, Stick instructs me to go over the trap on the left, and not miss left. UGGGGH. Of course i sent a screamer into that creek and it shoots 30 yards straight up, and left. He says, not the best, but it will work. Oh, and you are pitching out, only option.

Sure enough, i have zero angle at the pin, and hit wedge back into the fairway. I now have a decent shot at the green, and a perfect angle.

My mid iron goes to six feet, i sink the putt and par my first ever hole at Shadow Creek.

Woohoo!

Stick sounds great but you should have followed instructions better.

Agreed. I am a really good bowling coach, but nobody listens to my advice.

You are very observant. This will be a theme, I promise. The man saved me five strokes on the front alone. He also cost me $ in a side bet, indirectly, so he gets a 9/10.

Honestly, if he actually said “don’t miss left” aloud I would be pissed. I’m a strong believer in your body not being able to filter out the negative.

So
“Avoid the water” just becomes “the water”
“Don’t go long” becomes “long!”

And
“Not left” becomes “left”

You are probably mentally stronger than me though.

That’s why i said ugh! You are so right. I never even thought of left as a factor, in fact, i knew i could fly that with driver. Tell me where i can’t hit it, and that’s where it’s going.
He got dinged half a point there.
