I'll be in Vegas for 18 days (3rd June to 21June) and looked at cheaper hotel options by myself (excalibur like), but would love to share the costs in order to stay at a better hotel that has a decent poker room (get poker-room rate maybe, we would each play 2.5-3 hrs/day at the hotel).

Your share would only be $25 a night (2 beds obv) at America's Best Value Inn off of Trop and Koval (5 minute walk to MGM Grand). I know it's a budget hotel, but I've stayed there the last 2 years with no problems. It's clean and super convenient.

It has parking right by the room. Easy strip access. Close to gas stations, close enough to walk everywhere you need to. Only thing it's far from is the Wynn and you can get ride the tram thing at MGM if you need to.
