I recently sold my house and I will be moving into a new house around Thanksgiving time. I’m not positive of the exact date as the seller’s are having a house built and I move in once their house is finished. The house is a 5 bedroom, 5 bath house with 4658 sq ft. The house has a pool, jacuzzi, 3 car garage, and 2 sitting areas. One sitting area will have an extra TV and 2 leather chairs. If the living room TV is in use then this room can be used to watch a different football game than is on in the living room. The 2nd sitting area will have a pool table, convertible ping pong top, and a Ms Pac Man machine that has about 60 arcade games from the 80’s on it.

The house is located in the Green Valley South area in Henderson and is right next to Legacy Golf course. The house is in a guard gated community and security also monitors the area 24/7. I am looking for 3-4 respectful roommates that are poker players like myself. I would prefer that these roommates sign leases that are 6 or 12 months. Each bedroom will be fully furnished with a brand new bed, mattress, sheets, pillows, dresser, end table and 65” Samsung TV that will receive Dish Network or DirectTV. I will also have a cleaning service come in once a week that will clean the entire house. Each roommate will have use of all the common areas (pool, jacuzzi, outdoor grill & smoker, game room, living room, kitchen, laundry room, etc.) Each bedroom has its own bathroom and closet. Each roommate will also get one of the parking spaces in the garage. The 4 rooms available differ slightly in size (2 are similar in size and are upstairs, one is a casita and is downstairs and has a private entry off the garage, and the other is a large room about 35% bigger than the other rooms where you can fit a bed, have a sitting area or extra couch or sofa, and it also has a small bar, sink, and mini refrigerator). This room is also upstairs.

I am looking to get $725 per month in rent for each of the 2 normal sized rooms, that will come fully furnished, and then to make things easy I will charge $200 a month ($925 total rent per month) for Dish Network or DirectTV (will probably have some type of NFL sports package and movie package), electricity, high speed WiFi, water, gas, sewage, lawn care and pool service, weekly cleaning service, HOA dues, etc. You basically pay your own phone bill and any costs related to having your own car.

I am looking for $800 per month +$200 per month ($1000 total) for the oversized bedroom that will come furnished and that also has a bar, sink, and mini refrigerator.

I have also been a professional poker player for 14 years and the last 3.5 of those years have been in Las Vegas. I normally play 5/10 to 20/40NL and I am a poker coach so if you need help with your poker game then I’ll be more than happy to help you if you end up renting one of the rooms.

I used to live in Las Vegas and I'm pretty sure I bought the top day of the market in 2007, then moved to New York, and I am awaiting to hear from some hedge funds about trading for them.

if anyone is solicited by Zefa to rent a room via PM, you should know:

i recently stayed in his tenant house and found out i developed a case of ringworm (fungal infection on skin) after seeing a doctor after moving out.

is it from the house? can’t be sure, i certainly haven’t had any direct skin contact with anyone during my tenancy (veiled beat) and very minimal exposure outside of the house though.

i can say there is no ongoing professional cleaning or cleaning by the ongoing tenant to the best of my knowledge.

Wow, homer, that's a low blow. I've lived with Zefa for nearly 2 years and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. This on top of the fact that you can't get ringworm from living situations, especially considering the house homer is referring to is less than a year old.

Your anger wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you couldn't pay rent and were asked to leave, does it? Does it have anything to do with the fact that you spend all your money on weed and $30 dinners that you post about in the casual dining thread to fit in? Because you make $5/hr playing 1/2 and are bankrolled by your mom? Are you just angry homer that you didn't make it in Vegas and had to move away? Awwwwwww so sad

We weren't going to say anything in here because we figured having a bad roommate happens from time to time, but holy ****, you were the cream of the crop. If you have a room in Vegas, do not rent to homerdash, he is a grade A piece of ****.

I'll let Zefa/others comment on all the stories they have of homer being a complete psychotic piece of garbage. They are pretty entertaining.

Hey Chris, I really find it a little odd (though not entirely surprising) that you would post this. For the past 2 years, I have housed 15 different people, about 10 of them twoplustwo'ers at my place and with the exception of yourself, every one of them have been great and they've also told me they've liked staying at my place. I've also ran a separate airbnb with a perfect 5 star rating across the board for about a year in Vegas (4.8 on location though) and have never run across any issues.

You are literally the only person I've ever asked to leave my place. I can't help but feel you posted this out of spite or resentment.

Even after I asked you to leave, you told me you really liked the house, the people, and asked if I would reconsider and I told you I would not. Then suddenly you started to find things to complain about, (neighbors, light leaking through the window, and now a random case of ringworms that you yourself even admitted may not be from the house but feel the need to warn twoplustwo about me???)

The only thing I can do at this point is basically defend myself since you're essentially slandering me and my reputation on the public forum. I had originally considered all matters between us settled as I don't go out of my way to screw others (even if they're pretty awful human beings).

So here is my response to twoplustwo, a very sincere warning when dealing with homerdash in the future.

1.) He has anger issues. A twoplustwo roommate and I invited him to lunch when he first moved in and we went to a local asian restaurant. He drove us there. At the end of the meal, I asked the waitress to pack up my duck to go and in the process, she splashed a small drop soy sauce on Homer's shirt and he got visibly agitated to a very awkward and uncomfortable level. He muttered things along the lines of "never coming back here again", "shouldn't even tip", and I told him to relax its just some sauce that'll wash off. He responded in kind by asking me in a passive aggressive manner why I didn't pack it to go myself. Really odd thing to say to someone you literally just met and the underlying implications of what he says is pretty clear. On the drive back, he was still frustrated about the meal and honked at 2 separate cars. And when I say honked, i mean, smashed his hand multiple times at his horn when a car barely cut him off. I've never rode in his car since.

2.) He brake checked a guy on the highway out of anger and caused an accident. The guy hit him and thus he got to collect insurance payment. Really reckless behavior.

3.) He got into a fight with a high school aged boy selling candy at venetian. None of us were there so we only heard it from him but effectively he ended up tackling this kid or something and cops were called but its just another really odd scenario. I think he posted this story somewhere else on twoplustwo.

4.) He doesn't have a job and plays poker as his primary income but from what I've seen he grinds like 10 hours a week.

5.) He was the first person I've ever housed to not pay me rent. I'm very laid back about this sort of stuff so when I asked him a couple weeks in about it, he just said "oh right, money..." and then changed the subject. A few days later I asked him again and he told me he couldn't pay me yet. This was when I decided he had more issues that what I'd like to deal with so I asked him to move out. He suddenly sprung up the idea that instead of paying rent, I back him and he grinds for me. Yea... like I'd do that for someone who doesn't even upfront mention to me that he's gonna have a tough time paying rent and who grinds maybe 30 hours a month.

6.) He finally got some money from his mother and texted me to meet him so he could pay me. On the day I went over to collect, while my other roommate was there, he suddenly started complaining about how the light would leak in the window shutters, and the neighbors were noisy and I never installed blackout curtains for him so it negatively affected his sleep and his ability to grind poker for money. This led to him concluding that he should get a free pass on rent for a week because I was the cause of all this misfortune. Since my other roommate was present for all this, he can verify all this going down though he's not obligated to if he doesn't want to get involved in this thread B.S. I didn't really want to deal with this so I said forget it and told him to keep this money since he's basically busto and told him he just needs to move out at the end of the month.

7.) Despite effectively stiffing me for the last week of the month, he asked to stay one more day to leave in the morning. I said thats fine. The next morning he asked if he could stay for one more week and he'd pay me the money he owed me for the last month but he mentioned he wanted it to cover also for the extra week he'd stay. Wtf??? no.

I'd also like to mention that one of my roommates (knivesout) predicted that this could happen where after he moved out, he may badmouth me on twoplustwo out of resentment or something. I thought it was unlikely as homer was so clearly in the wrong in all aspects if he did bring some BS up about me, I'd just call him out on it. No one can be that oblivious of their own faults and these situations right? I also felt like since I just let go of the whole not paying me rent thing plus let him stay an extra day, I felt like we resolved it peacefully and no other issues would arise. Guess I was wrong.
