Help! I'm meeting my mom in Vegas for 5 days and she doesn't really drink and she definitely doesn't gamble. What should I do with her?? She's also not really into cheesy shows, but she would probably see a cirque if it was good (i've already seen love). Are there any good places that would be a day trip away to explore? (This is happening in mid November).

thanks!

in before why are you going to vegas if she doesn't like to drink / gamble etc.

Ok sorry for telling you that there's threads about this already so that you could go look at them.

Since there's threads about it it pretty obviously isn't a "quick question".

(cheapskate alternative is standard for anyone under 30 IMO).

Be realistic - what are your chances of sexy time to begin with? Going from 4/room to 2/room is a big price jump, and you've got to decide whether the extra money you pay is going to be worth the extra nookie you anticipate, especially since you're self-described as busto.

You're probably not going to spend the whole night with anyone you bring up anyway, so 4 to a room and a tie on the doorknob is probably going to be the best compromise. Assuming your name refers to your birth year, chances are 90% of the foreplay's happening on the dance floor anyway.

Downtown, as all the SD games on the Strip are 6:5. You're not going to get away with anything more than a 1:4 spread for any reasonable amount of time, even if you're red chip.

bj21 and blackjackinfo will have better forums for asking this question than LVL here; wizardofodds also has a LV Survey which should be used at your own risk (penetration numbers are highly dealer dependent).

Most hotels requirers that you have to be 21+ to book a room. One of my friends might bright his GF and she is 19. Is there any problems if a 21yo book a room and stays with a 19yo?

I think that's a little shortsighted. If you assume that card counting equals spreading 1:20 on SD, then yes, Vegas sucks. But there are plenty of other opportunities in Vegas that don't appear anywhere else in the world.

Wonging = win
Dealers hired for their boobs rather than their brains = win
Casinos taking purple action without batting an eye = win

Obviously you wont be able to get away with a 1-20 unit spread. But 6:5 on all SD on the strip is absurd. I will never ever sit at a 6:5 table, regardless of the boobs of the dealer.

Yes, it is.

But there are games other than SD on the Strip, you know.

What if it was 6:5 plus feeling them?

I'm currently talking to one of my friends about Vegas nightclubs and had a question...

I heard somewhere that there is a club in Vegas that was named after a word that drunk people would slur in their speech when they were picked up by a taxi and then the taxi would take there them instead of where they really wanted to go. It was done to generate more traffic to the club.

Is that true? And if so, does anyone have any idea what it is called?

Vegas trip for February. First time, going with girlfriend and another couple.

I won't get too much gambling time...hopefully at least a 16-hour session of poker + some other minor play. So we'll be spending much time on excursions and walking around.

Where should we stay? We're cheap-ish, but if the price is right, we would splurge.

A few of the options (1-week stay, per person, incl. airfare):

- Imperial Palace ($376), Harrah's ($416), Bally's ($440), Rio ($429)
- Caesars ($588)
- MGM Tower ($631), West Wing ($689)
- Trump ($716), TI ($725), Vdara ($770), MGM Signature ($775)
- Encore@Wynn ($1124), Venetian ($1181)

Aside from TI and Caesars, what you should expect is correlated with the price listed.

TI is a little overpriced and Caesars is a little underpriced IMO. Move TI to where Caesars is and Caesars up one category and you've got yourself a flat price-per-value curve.
