Yes, even the penny slots count. The drinks are free in the sense that you won't be charged for the drink. However, you're expected to tip the waitress - $1 per drink is standard, $0.50 for water is acceptable, and if you made special requests a larger tip is warranted.

The waitresses don't really care if you're actually playing or not, but you have to look like you are. If you just want a beer, find a waitress, figure out what direction she's heading, sit down at a slot machine, and deposit some money. Pull the lever once as she's approaching and then order your drink. Premium liquors are often reserved for "real" players, so you might need to find a $1 slot machine or sit down at a table game if you want something nice.

Ohh ok Makes sense.. Another question.. Is Golden Nugget's location a bit further away from the strip, and how long with it take to walk from the hotel to the strip..

Thank you.

don't walk. it's a crappy area and you're much better off taking a shuttle or a cab or something. or a bus. anything but walking.

The Nugget is downtown on Fremont about a $15-20 cab from the strip. You're probably not walking it-cab or take the Deuce.

Ivan: The Golden Nugget is downtown. Downtown is cool and I like it, but the real action is on the Strip which is too far to walk from downtown. Your cheapest transportation is the bus system. The "Deuce" bus runs up and down Las Vegas Boulevard and is the easiest to figure out. If you're leaving a club drunk or with a women and heading back to the Nugget, take a taxi.

Cheap eats downtown: Lucky 777's Buffet at the Plaza, $7.77 all the time, cheap yet edible; Paradise Buffet at the Fremont Casino, $8.50 lunch buffet, nice dining room, good food; Binion's Coffee Shop, sit down order from a waitress restaurant, daily/late night specials; Uncle Joe's Pizza, local pizza joint on Fremont Street east of Las Vegas Blvd; Kareful Kitty's Kafe at the El Cortez Casino, old style Vegas coffeeshop/restaurant with cheap prime rib special; McDonald's, two locations, one at the Plaza, the other at Fitzgerald's.

Weather should be sunny with high temperatures 70-80 degrees F, lows 40-60 degrees F. Probably jeans, t-shirt, light jacket weather. Nugget pool will probably be nice from 2PM - 4PM in afternoon.

Going to vegas on 10/30 to 11/1, there will be five of us, and we're looking for two rooms.

Any good deals out there for a decent room? We're looking to pay under 80 bucks for one decent room per night.

I'll add Golden Gate to that list. 99 cent shrimp cocktails with players card. Sandwiches not bad, but for the money, you should just go to a buffet.

I'll add the brew pub and the buffet at Main Street Station. I can't think of anything else cheap downtown that I'd willingly eat.

Brag: Managed to get Garth Brooks tickets.

Beat: Thanks to the Wynn's awful reservation system, I got kicked out while filling out the form, and went back in for tickets on the wrong date.

Sick beat: I have two useless tickets to Garth Brooks and will have to eat $300.

I think getting the tickets at all would be the beat.

I know they put something in place to stop scalpers but is there any way you can transfer the tickets or let someone else buy them.

No, I checked. Whoever bought the tickets has to sign for them at will call on the day of the concert and accompany their entire party into the theater.

Funny thing is, there are people on eBay putting tickets up for thousands of dollars, but because I don't live in Vegas, I can't even get face value for mine.

Have you called asking about a refund?

Put 'em on ebay. If you can sell them for thousands, take an early flight out to pick them up.

They can't Fed Ex them to you? Tell them they're a gift for someone else. They can't expect you to travel to Vegas to pick up a gift.

edit:I see they are being a pain in the ass about it.
Quote:
Ticket holders must enter the Encore Theater with their entire party. Wynn reserves the right to request valid I.D. of the ticket holder prior to entry into the Encore Theater at show time. The person who purchased the ticket(s) must be a member of the party entering the theater.
So the only way anyone is getting in with a ticket off ebay is if the buyer goes with them.

You could tell them you plan to scalp the tickets.
Quote:
Management reserves the right to cancel any ticket and refund the face value of the ticket to the ticket holder, if management determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, that such ticket was purchased from a ticket reseller at an amount in excess of face value.
Worst case, if they won't give you a refund, bounce the charge with your credit card issuer.

Will they let you use them (or more accurately, the credit) for a different show? He is playing there like 4 nights a week for years.

I'm going to be in Vegas in two weeks, so I'm going to ask in person. I'm fully expecting them to be completely inflexible on this.

Going to vegas for a week in December. I love night clubs, but Ive heard to get into a nightclub you either have to stand in line several hours and maybe not even get in or you have to reserv a table for $1000. Is this correct?

Any nightclubs you can recomend+

I hate nightclubs, but my understanding is there are a couple ways around this(not including money-losing methods such as losing a fortune in the pit and having your host get you in).

1. Arrive right when they open. And/or unpopular nights, like Sunday or Monday.

2. Go to the unpopular clubs. Like if Circus Circus had a nightclub, go to that one.
