Any help on this- I have comped room offers for mgm properties. When I sign on to my account and book- no booked rooms and prices are much higher than the emails I get? I noticed my account was linked to an old account so I called mgm up to have all accounts merged- still bad prices on hotel rooms and no comped rooms even though I get emails.

Any idea what I should do? I called today so maybe just wait a day to see comped rooms pop up? It’s annoying I get emails stating I have comped rooms and lower prices yet they don’t show up and I need to book a vegas trip soon. Thanks for any help here- I might just call again this weekend.

I imagine the emails say something like "rates starting at..." or "offering as much as 2 complimentary nights" which means it's likely higher or you won't find better than that. I don't think there's an error, the emails say something great but it's what your account says or what shows up when you try booking that matters.

Just north and north east of downtown is pretty seedy. Some parts of far east not too nice either.

Nah the email says comp on the date with better prices on the days that aren’t comped. It’s very odd. I’m going to guess I have to wait a day or two for the system to catch on but maybe not.

Like when I go in they have rooms at $180 when I’m offered $60-90 for the lower rate dates that aren’t comped. I’m getting the same rates as prior now- a day ago my old account # was on my main mgm rewards page but now I have the new account #. Just odd mgm has such a bad system.

he's older and prefers quiet(er) places. staying at aria... neither of us are afficiandos, but he doesn't gamble and would enjoy smoking one and having a drink while just relaxing.

i've done a little research and seen that casa fuente/davidoff/montecristo cigar bar appear to be options, so i'm wondering if out of these options which is the nicest/quietest or if there are other alternatives. Thanks for any help!

They linked all of my accounts but no changes occurred to the prices of rooms or comps showing up. It’s really odd. I had offers from a few rooms for 1-4 comp nights etc and other goodies like food comps. My account from last year where i punted a lot was added and no change to prices- Aka rates are same as before. All I can guess is the system needs to catch on- I’ll just call in a few days if nothing changes. I would love to stay at mgm but not 3k for a week and a half trip when I give them action (as shown by fact I receive emails stating comped rooms etc).

Have you tried just asking them what days you have available for comps and asking them to book for you? Even if they are supposed to be "online only" comps, hopefully they would be willing to do that if you're still having problems with the system.

I like davidoff across from the Wynn a lot. You can smoke outside or inside + they have great drinks and cigars. Not cheap but def a nice place. Also montecristo bar is fairly nice (in Caesar’s). It’s fairly quiet and dark inside + they also have solid drinks. A little cheaper than davidoff. Finally- Arturo fuente. Prolly the lowest class of places on this list. It’s kinda loud bc it’s inside the mall so maybe not a good idea. Drinks here are also solid. Only Arturo cigars

I don't smoke them anymore, but appreciate the enjoyment of a good cigar, and a nice cigar lounge. Totally cool. I'm glad they exist.

I enjoy cannabis, a good strong fat joint, just like some folks enjoy cigars. I hope to live long enough to experience a cannabis lounge, like a cigar lounge in the safety and comfort of a resort hotel, or at the very least a simple outdoor reefer smoking section on the premises, off the street. That would be nice.

I won't hold my breath. Until the corporations who own the joint can sell you a joint, there will be cannabis prohibition. As soon as they figure out how to monetize it, it will be allowed, similar to tobacco and alcohol. But these types of changes take a long time. Cigarette and alcohol companies don't want the competition, and have powerful, deeply entrenched political lobbies .

It's come a long way from reefer madness, but still the evil weed is only quasi-legal, as we still have widespread prohibition even in states that legalized sales, like Nevada. It is legal to buy, sell and pay taxes on, but not to use, outside of private property.

I realize that law enforcement does not care if I walk down the street smoking weed, which is cool, and I will do, somewhat discretely, but it would be nice to be able to actually use legal flowers legally somewhere more safe and comfortable than out on the street, especially late at night, because there aren't many, if any, legal public places to actually smoke the weed, including a hotel room. I've even been locked out of my room and charged a $250 fee for reeking up a hotel room (I did not get evicted, and eventually got them to remove it, but it was a bad experience).

Encouraging. Thanks for the link. An industrial area right next to I-15, a few blocks behind Circus Circus and empty lots. Looks like future possibilities if the north part of the strip thrives and gets more developed. This kind of property could turn out to be a good thing, or another overpriced sleazy cheesy boutique hotel. Lipstick on a pig. Probably best to have a car if you stay here. Not far distance from Strip but seems like an unpleasant walk, and potentially unsafe late at night.

I got it fixed today. They had to delete my account and have me create a new one to get it to work. Now I have comps. Btw anyone wanna share what their comps are with mgm here? I got comps for the lower end properties- mgm is my best prolly for what casino offers.

I’m now on the end should I stay at Excalibur super cheap bc I have 4 comped nights or just go mgm or parkmgm with less comped nights. It’s a tough call. I might mid Excalibur/ mgm or park to get my comped rooms. Edc vegas is raising my prices bc it’s end of weekend I leave

What are your plans? What do you want? What is your budget? How much time will you stay in your base hotel?

I’m going to just play poker tournaments each day so rarily in room. Also don’t mind walking to other casinos with better food options for dinner or breakfast. The thing is- I can easily afford a nicer place like mgm grand or park mgm but I don’t see the point of spending the extra money when I get better deal from Excalibur. Pretty sure I’m going to stay at Excalibur my first week+half and then go to mgm grand when I go back for a week bc I have really good comp nights from mgm the first weekend of June.

I kinda wanted to stay at park mgm bc my favorite breakfast spot is there (primrose). I don’t mind a quick walk each morning though to get there though. I’m the type of person also that doesn’t need a nice room to be happy. Sure it’s a nice thing but I don’t see much value in paying a lot for a room I’m rarily in bc I play poker tournaments all day. As a side note- how do people justify Wynn? I booked 2 nights at trump for like a tad over $400 bc I want to be close to Wynn for a pool party. I checked Wynn price just for a laugh and it was $1100 for 2 nights in lowest rung room on a weekend- just blasphemous. I could have all the money in the world and idk if I would pay such a high rate for a room. Just seems goofy. I know most folks get comps bc they degen punt but still.

sounds like you should go with the cheapest reasonable option, which would be Excalibur. fwiw I think Luxor (if the price isn't much different) is underrated

Luxor is great value from a room perspective since they remodeled a few years back

Just read that the A's have chosen a tract of land near the strip for their new baseball stadium, but the article didn't give the location. Does anyone know? I couldn't find a thread on this issue, but if there is a discussion of it somewhere, please let me know.
