"Unfortunately, we will be closed until further notice. We thank our customers for their loyal support, and we hope to open again soon. Please check back. Thanks!"

they stopped accepting credit card transactions a few days ago, and now this.

I will be staying downtown next weekend. Does anyone have recommendations for a health club that offers day passes so I can workout next Saturday? I will have a rental car so it doesn't have to be really close but I don't really want to drive 30-40 minutes either.

I called Bally's and they said their dry cleaning service costs around $6-7 per item. Does this sound right? I was told to expect it to be expensive out there.

I've never had dry cleaning done in Vegas but that sounds about right, it's more expensive than my local dry cleaning place.

You can always call the Bellagio/Venetian/Wynn and ask them about their dry cleaning service, if they quote something much higher you can just attribute that to your source staying at nicer places than Bally's.

If you play table games go through the consierge and you should be able to get it taken care of..

Otherwise, there is a dry cleaning not far down the street from Ballys. It's just off the corner of Flamingo and Paradise, in a strip mall next to Morton's steakhouse. Something like $2 an item last time I used them.

cal - That's good to hear. I was expecting something rediculous like $50 (a $15 haircut is $55 at the salon/spa, was expecting similar markup). The items I want done would cost me $16 here, so it's close enough.

Clay - Thanks. I'm just gonna go through Bally's service. I'm lazy like that.

Wynn Comps question here.

Anyone know how player ratings work when playing slots or VP? If I play at $3-5 per spin/hand should I expect comps? Last weekend I racked up about 2k Wynn points.

One other thing, to avoid throwing off my rating, if I want to play .25/spin should I do it without my players card in?

You get credit for amount played, so playing quarters won't F anything up. It'll help since playing quarters is greater than playing zero.

I don't know what 2k Wynn points means in their universe, but yes, play enough slots/VP and you will get comps.

Is this all Roadrunners? Or just the one in your area?

youre normally only rated when you play table games... ie to "rate" someone is to figure out their ave bet per hour... this isnt really necessary with machine games, because they can just use your hard totals without having to use averages to estimate... afaik 10 spins on the $10 slots is exactly the same as 10000 spins on the penny slots for comp purposes (but i think for comp purposes slots>vp per dollar wagered)

After thinking about it a bit more they probably just multiply "coin-in" times "EV" and go from there. A 6% edge at slots or whatever earns twice as many comps as a game with a 3% edge. So wagering $10000 at -6% EV earns them 600 in equity. From that number is where we start to negotiate comps.

I think i know the answer already, but I'll ask anyway.

The group of people that I'm planning to go to Vegas with consists of a dozen adults and one 19-year old girl who looks like she's about 17. How limiting is her age going to be to our group of otherwise acceptable casino patrons?

Will she even be allowed to enter the casinos period? If Vegas is anything like the casinos I've been to, most security will check her ID, while there will be others who won't. Obviously we wouldn't even chance getting her a drink or letting her gamble if she did get in.

It's more along the lines of "we're on a family vacation and don't want to make her sit outside and twiddle her thumbs while we tour the casino floor and have a drink at the bar." Will she be able to accompany our group provided she just stands around?

She will be fine. If she stays in your group she can probably even drink. Just don't make her buy/order her own drinks. I'd stay away from any bars where you have to be let in. If you are all hanging around a casino bar nobody is gonna give a crap. There's roughly a 1% chance she will get carded just standing around and maybe 5% chance if she has a drink.

fwiw, the only casino in vegas i've been carded at is the palms, and it happens almost every time I am there. and i do not look young, so stay away from the palms.

Unlike many casinos, generally in Vegas there is little to no front entrance security. Everything is wide open and you just walk in. I don't think you will have much of a problem if she is never drinking or gambling. I started going to Vegas when I was 22 and have only shown my ID once, which was while ordering a drink at the Mandalay Bay pool.

Outside of getting in a club, I don't see it slowing you down all that much.

.

I'd put it at more like 50/50. I got carded pretty consistently until I was at least 25.

A helpful hint for the OP- if you do your drinking in restaurant bars instead of casino bars you should be fine (assuming you're not sitting up at the bar). A casino bar will require everyone there to be 21, while most restaurant bars don't.

fwiw, Mirage was carding many/most of the players at the craps tables a few weeks ago. Saturday night I think. So maybe consider game selection.

First time I went, which was earlier this year, I got carded at almost every casino I was in; but they were carding when while playing table games. (I was 22 at the time)
