The Springs Preserve is nice, but I wouldn't want to go there in the summer, it's way too hot to enjoy everything. My nephews liked the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur, but I haven't seen it myself.

Yeah, in the summer we tend to go early. There are indoor exhibits, we take the kids to see the animals, and we ride the train. We are members, so we don't feel the need to extract max value. Spending 1.5-2hr there is more than enough.

We haven't done the Excal -- would be too much for my 6 yo, but my 3yo would love it and would almost certainly find a way to actually impale someone.

I commend your offspring for wanting to get full value for your entertainment dollar.

tyty for activities.
Whatabout the moneys, need some chips/cash, someone recommended Bitcoin ATMs(wtf fee). I'll bring some cash with me but rather hold that for tipping and whatnot. Most places in Europe you can make a payment with your card and get chips, anything like that possible? P2P crypto transactions?

I know it used to be possible to buy chips with a credit card at the cashier cage but it was a bit of a process and there was a significant fee but I don't remember whether that fee was charged by the casino or the credit card company or both. This was about 15 years ago after a long night of drinking, I had busted all of the cash I brought and had withdrawn the max allowed from my bank account for the day so I hit up the cage with my card and they were able to hook me up.

I'd definitely call before relying on this option though, especially if using a card from overseas, a credit union, etc. Also ask about the fee, I seem to recall it being 7-8% or something crazy like that.

a few times while traveling abroad i came across an unexpected casino and was able to use the credit card at the cage but it was never a simple process, had fees and max limits that were often less than a full buyin

in macau a lot of the jewelry shops would swipe your card, charge you $10,050 for jewelry and then give you $10k in cash but i doubt that'll work in USA#1

That would be an amazing credit card rewards scam.

Is it safe (in every sense of the word) to walk from the Rio to the strip between 7a-9a on weekend mornings?

I've went the opposite way for WSOP events a few times, and never felt any danger. It's not a nice walk (trashy, nothing to look at), but it is safe, I'd say.

Did that many times even at night, never felt unsafe. Not very scenic though and the bridge area smells bad.

Is the pedestrian bridge the only area that is a concern? I've run it many times in the early morning. Aside from some homeless people, who have never bothered me, and some trash I'm not sure anything else stands out on that stretch.

Just remembered. This year I stayed at Harrah's, so took a slightly different route. Through Caesar's. After passing the garages out back, one block north to the stop light (Twain? not sure), under I-15, then up the hill to the backside of the Rio. Not scenic either, just something different, and slightly less of a walk from Harrah's.

There used to be, but I think I read that it was discontinued. CET seems to have given up on wanting people to go to the Rio.

Fashion Show Mall is on the Strip, north of TI and across the street from Wynn.

That said, if you want to go to Bellagio or anywhere South on the Strip from there, the walk from Gold Coast might be shorter than from Fashion Show Mall. Especially with pedestrian traffic. But walking the Strip is obviously significantly more scenic.

I’m interested in trying edibles in Vegas for the first time (wife will be partaking too).

Is there a place relatively close to Flamingo Casino to get these?

I saw some place called Cookies got good reviews but that seems to be a little far away.

I have very limited experience, but The Grove is on the way from the airport.

And very close to the Hofbräuhaus if you need to pour down a Masskrug with the edibles.

Med Men used to be across the street from the Hof. Same place? Haven't seen Med Men advertising in a while.
