You need a sun shade for sure and usually at least 5 minutes of AC running in car to start getting cool air when its 110.

Casino parking garages are brutal then, even at night.

If you're arriving after 6 PM and planning to leave before daylight, park on the roof.

I saw on caesars rewards page that only 7 star member get early checkin and late checkout. Is this accurate? I have a flight to vegas on the night of July 4th and my reservation starts July 5th and I used to do this in 2018 and they'd let me check in at 2am because I have a diamond card.

You might have gotten lucky back then. I think the majority of hotels charge you for a full additional night if you want to check in earlier than 8 or 9AM?

If you could check in at 2AM with a diamond card, people would get to LV, drop off their stuff with the bell desk and check into their room when they’re going to bed, effectively getting a free night.

Most likely they just comped you the free night, assuming you gave good action. If this not true, you were extremely lucky and would not count on a repeat experience. The earliest I've ever checked in was 7am on a midweek day. Nowadays casinos are charging fees for early check in.

Depends on what you’re doing with it. Unless you’re breaking any rules, you’re allowed to.

Can’t remember the last time I played live poker and phones weren’t allowed. Horseshoe in Tunica was one of the last places I remember that banned iPads but I think even that has changed.

Anyone know if Wynn valet is open? I think that is something most properties have kept shut down.

Last time I was at Bellagio, you were allowed to have a whole damn conversation on the phone while in a hand. Definetly not the norm outside of vegas, and I don't remember other Vegas rooms rules regarding actual calls.

I don’t think that’s the actual rule even though people do it all the time. But the one time I complained about it to the dealer because the other player held up the game, the dealer told the player to end his call or fold.

Looking for suggestions for a place that has 2 bedroom suites, on strip or close enough to walk. Doesn't need to be ultra high end.

Thanks!

I think at least the larger resorts all have 2BR suites? Aria, Bellagio, Cosmo, MGM, Venetian, Wynn for sure.

The #1 question is what you’re willing to pay. Sometimes people have the misconception that a 2BR that sleeps 6 is cheaper than two or three regular rooms. That’s usually not the case.

If you want a specific recommendation, I really liked the City Suite at Cosmopolitan. Unless something changed over the last year, you can get that one for $500/night on non-busy weekdays and for $1200-1500 on regular weekends. I think 2BRs at other Strip resorts are larger, but they’re also more expensive. At least at comparable resorts.

The bargain might be Mandalay Bay. Madlex is correct all the hotels have these, we looked at most of them when we were looking to get a suite for a week when we got married. Pre covid at least you could even tour them.

I wonder if you could negotiate the price of larger suites right now? Birthday/ bachelor parties probably account for a disproportionately large percentage for those. With clubs and bars closed, I’m pretty sure the vast majority of them have been canceled and occupancy is really low right now.

Everything is negotiable to a certain extent but only if you're a big player.

Major resorts (and smaller ones) have software that price the cash rate of rooms based on booking curves. i.e., if bookings this year are trending worse vs last year, prices will be lower. Sometimes you have a bunch of room types all yielded separately, and sometimes they tie them together, e.g., there's a fixed $20 price diff btwn king vs 2 queens. All room types should have minimums, and those on suites may not have adjusted much (and if they did, it will be reflected in the cash rate).

Smaller places will often not sell their suites, and they'd rather go down with the rooms than give them to non-premium players. They don't want those rooms to get "low end" wear and tear. Lots of times they won't even comp good suites to mid-range players if they are available, as you don't want those players to start expecting that room type - creates a guest service nightmare later.

In any case, your avenues to getting a price are: (1) call group sales, who probably won't be able to help you too much unless you're booking a bunch of rooms, but it might be worth a shot if you want to talk to a human, and particularly if you want any catering - couched as a hospitality suite they might at least point you to the right person; (2) call the call center, who won't be empowered to override the price in the system but at least you know what it is (the supervisor may have limited power, for example to honor an expired coupon, but he/she probably can't change cash rate) and you can see about any deals and ask if those suites ever sell for XYZ rate, and a friendly agent may be able to give you some info; (3) ask at check-in for comp or cash upgrades; (4) talk to your host; and i guess obviously (5) know someone inside who can talk to director of hotel, etc.

There’s a pool party season, Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, during non-Covid19 times. But those dates are by no means binding and some parties happen earlier and later than that.

Other than that, there isn’t any kind of season. Some pools are open year round others close over the winter. I remember being at a Planet Hollywood pool in late November one year. Somebody told me they were still open because weather was nice but would shut down til Spring as soon as it got colder.

Anybody know why pools close early? I have seen as early as 5pm. Is it to save money?

Must be Covid19 related. I think regular pool hours are to 6PM or 8PM, depending on the property. After that, people are supposed to start spending serious money somewhere.

And during non-Covid times there's also the stuff like Marquee pool at Cosmopolitan where DJs play at night.

Marquee is open on the weekends.

I know that Cosmo daybeds went until 6pm. Not sure if the pool closed, but they do have the movie nights at the Boulevard pool on the weekends, which could cut into that closing time.

To be honest, after 5pm the Boulevard/Chelsea pools clear out and IG seekers come in to snaps pics.
