Plane tickets to Vegas cost almost nothing right now. I see $37 total for round trip flight from NYC.

But are there any good hotel deals?

I am considering going to Vegas to mostly hike and explore the national parks for a week or so.

Plenty of hotels are open, in Las Vegas and everywhere else in the country. You can even sit it out at Trump‘s hotel in New York if you feel like it.

LV Strip resorts are closed, but if people don’t come for gambling or other forms of social interaction, they should be fine. Friend of mine is staying basically free at Tuscany right now, waiting it out til the end of the month when he can move into his new place.

So with Khourys, Total Wine, and Lee’s closed, where are we getting the booze these days? I went to my Smith’s (Rancho and Charleston) yesterday and the selection was... lower end, let’s say.

The Target at Charleston & Rampart now has a Spirits section. Disclaimer: I've never bought any alcohol from them. But, they cater to the "Summerlin Lifestyle" so u may find something other than rubbing alcohol & Mad Dog 20/20 there.

Good to know, thanks. I was at Trader Joes yesterday at Buffalo/Wash and popped into WinCo which at least had angostura bitters. Looking for good liqueur selection. I think quarantine is activating our "artisanal" genes - home improvement, yardwork, cooking, baking, fun cocktails :shrug:

I wonder if in states with liquor only sold in seperate stores if they’ll close them down as they did in states like NV where you can still buy liquor at essential businesses like grocery stores?

Pennsylvania "state stores" have been closed for almost two weeks. You can buy beer and wine at some grocery stores but no liquor.

In the Kansas City Metro (both Kansas and Missouri sides) liquor stores are essential businesses and open. The one close to our house has had a packed parking lot all day since the stay at home order went in place. Went in there around 11AM on a weekday last week and it was as busy as on a regular Saturday night.

My local bike shop also is considered essential. They have 50% more business than usually during the early Spring.

What is considered to be the most luxurious casino in Vegas? I'm talking about regular casinos open to the public and not things like The Mansion at MGM. Would it be Wynn? Aria?

Venetian/Pallazo would like to contest for that position, but probably aren't quite the top.

I wouldn't put Cosmo in that same category. It's a bad explanation to say they sacrifice a bit of luxury to make themselves way more trendy than the others in this category, but maybe you understand my meaning anyway?

It's been several years since I stayed at any of them, but I found Wynn and Venetian to be about tied for the nicest places I have stayed, while Bellagio was considerably lower than either.

Depending on what you think of Cosmo's "trendiness" as mentioned it either goes between Wynn/Venetian and Bellagio or is roughly the same as Bellagio
