1- Use google, kayak, hotwire, priceline etc. Yes, CC and Stratosphere are some of the cheapest hotels. They are also a bit removed to the north from the actual strip. Maybe look into Excalibur or something, still cheap but better connected to the strip. All these are pretty s***y hotels.
2- The resort fee, in short, yes
3- See 1. Or look into airbnbs, no resort fees

1- You go into a dispensary and buy it

If all you need is a bed and shower consider one of the non-casino hotels or motels in the area. There is a Travelodge right across the street from the Aria and you are walking distance to several properties.

Always check the fine print for any resort fees and parking fees. The Travelodge does not have any.

Hey all.

I have a few small questions I was hoping for some answer to/opinions on.

- I have an unlocked phone, it looks like you can buy a SIM at Mccarran airport. Is there a specific package I should look for, or should I buy it elsewhere?

- It looks like there are a few websites that offer discounted tickets for various shows and also ticket booths that offer the same service. Is one option better than the other, is there any specific ticket booth I should look for?

- Planning to hit these food places: Umiya Sushi, In n Out, Chick fil A, Earl of Sandwich, Dirtdog, Eggslut, Pizza Rock, Donut Bar. Anything else I should add to this list? Also looking for a few good Fremont food options.

- A good fine dining option and a steakhouse option - both on the strip. I'll be eating solo and have only been to one fine dining place before so I'm looking for more relaxed atmospheres where I can eat at the bar if possible (for both the fine dining place and the steakhouse).

Thanks!

Last I looked in July the SIMs at McCarran were ridiculously expensive, like 60$ for a 14day package IIRC. I bought one at Walmart for 30$ a while back that was good for a whole month (nowadays I buy USA SIMs at a local flea market for much less than that so not fully up to date on local options).
The food places you listed are mostly fast food joints, they are fine, but at the same time they're nothing special, not sure you need to make visiting these a priority.

Thanks for the info.

I will hit some random restaurants too, although I don't have as much info on them. The fast food joints listed aren't available in my home country and I've heard good things about them (mainly on youtube).

Hey all, im going to be in vegas for a week from october 6th-11th. Was hoping to get some info on the best tourneys to play at various casinos. All i saw was the dailys going on and no major wsop stops/events during that time. My max BI will probably be around 400 per day.

Thanks in advance!

Boom.

Obviously this is the schedule for today. But you can compare each weekday, vs the weekdays you'll be here. It will be 99% the same.

Flying in Friday..! Super pumped. Got an evening planned for downtown.

If we can manage it Sunday we're gonna try and hit the Knights vs Phoenix NHL preseason game Sunday at 1:30... might come quick being jet lagged a bit and hung over.

What's the market like for these tickets? $80 online.m will there be scalpers or nah? Any way to get freebies through gaming etc?

Where are some good spots both downtown and on the strip to get a nice buzz on while gaming?

My friend mentioned Pai Gow which looks decent enough. I've never been a table game player but don't have a mega poker itch. Will likely play a bit of cash.

Someone said slots at Cromwell but I feel like I'd rather rip my eyes out than play slots... is video poker decent? Seems like basic strategy is easy.

Anyway.. what games/locations for a low-sodium roller for quick drinks and good times?

Pai Gow. Slow pace, regular drink service. Video poker is fine too, but unless you’re at the bar forget about quick drink service.

Pai Gow works well, and ask the waitress not to salt the rim if you order a margarita.

So... my wife and I -- two NYC yuppies -- are moving to Vegas. I haven't played poker full time for like 8 years, so not poker related. If you could go back in time and tell your vegas newb selves 1-2 things what would they be? Gonna try to live the good life in Summerlin and will be there for min 1 year but who knows how long.

Put on sunscreen.

Explore the city/state outside of gambling/pokerz. Go hiking and see all that is around.

Re-evaluate your tax situation before year end. NYC is high tax....Nevada has no state income tax...I'm guessing you two will most likely have a drop in income (but lower costs). Your tax situation will definitely change.
