As others have said, either one will hold them for you.

What makes the choice come down to Luxor or Tropicana for your stay?

People on here could give guidance that might help you with your decision.

I haven't stayed at Luxor, but I have stayed multiple times at Tropicana.

Free rooms at both. Might try the $20 trick

If it is a case of use it or lose it, you don't mind moving, and your trip is long enough, why not stay at both?

If you want to stay at just one, I would suggest Trop on the basis of location as neither one has a poker room and Trop is right across the street from MGM which does have a poker room along with a monorail stop.

If you are looking for the place with newer slots, that is probably Luxor. Haven't stayed at Trop for a number of years, but the wife and I were struck by the same slots year after year when we did stay there.

If you have more MGM family of casinos than you do Penn National family of casinos in your home area, then that would be a point for Luxor. If the opposite is true, than that would be a point for Trop.

Am I the only one getting annoyed by the amount of posts from Doc T River? I already ignored him but now I have gaps in every topic of LVL.

Even after someone pointing out the useless info he posted in the Uber vs Lyft thread, he still managed to post 5+ times in that thread after stating he hasn't used either one.

Come on, post your questions or relevant answers but keep your other thoughts to yourself.

I know I don't post much but have been lurking for over a decade and can't imagine being the only one who noticed this and is getting more and more annoyed.

Exaggerate much?

I haven’t posted in every topic of LVL so therefore you can’t have gaps in every topic.

He's kind of right - 2+2 has always been a 'hey i know what's going on I'll pipe in' instead of straight noise type of place.

That's not to say the enthusiasm isn't appreciated - It's just a little much, that's all.

This is a question and answer thread not a discussion thread so I do agree with the above post.

I meant Red Rock, but perhaps I'm misremembering. It was several years ago.

Personally, I'm glad to see him back.

Sorry, I take issue when someone attacks me with lies and I am going to respond publicly when the lies are posted publicly.

My continued posting in the Uber v. Lyft thread after someone took issue was due to people directing questions or comments to me.

I will try to do better, but people need to remember that different people come here for different reasons and react to threads differently.

That evidently isn't me as I have no mental acuity left.

Probably shouldn't do this if you care about keeping your ADT up

I am such a fish, at the poker table and in the casino, that I am worth so little I should probably pay them.

Well, in a way I guess I already do.

What up people!?

Lady and I are heading to LV this weekend and we actually have about 1.5 days planned to go to Zion NP first. Our general plan is to land in LV on Thursday around 8:30, pick up our rental car, and then head for Springdale, UT. We'll be out there Thursday night and then chekc out of our Lodge Friday morning wiht plans to spend the day in Zion. Initially, my plan was to stop at a Walgreens or a Walmart to pick up some supplies for Zion and then just head straight for Utah. And then, when leaving Zion, to get any additional supplies for Vegas and head straight to Vegas.

Any suggestions for things we should see or do around Zion, on the way to Vegas, or in Vegas. I'm not accustomed to having a car so maybe there's a cool restaurant we could hit somewhere different in Vegas?

Somebody has mentioned St. George as a stop or maybe the Garden of Fire? Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I believe you mean Valley of Fire instead of Garden of Fire. Valley of Fire is a nice place but if you're going to Zion I wouldn't stop there or even St. George and would instead try to maximize time at Zion which is wonderful.

A couple of quick questions.

1) I am dining at Stripsteak at 6pm on Monday and would like to play the deep stack at The Orleans which starts at 7pm. If I finish dinner by 630pm, do you think I could make it by 7pm?

2) I have been looking on Bravo to see how well attended tournaments are at Ballys and Caesars, but I never see any listed. Do these two casinos just not report tournament attendance to Bravo or are the tournaments just not getting enough players and being canceled?

I think you can make it in 30 minutes from there to Orleans by car. That being said please don’t try to rush a nice steak dinner and even than 0 chance you can get in and out in 30 minutes. I’d move your reservation to to 4:30 or 5 and give yourself enough time. Doubt many people eat so early so shouldn’t be an issue.

The tournaments at Bally's and Caesars are both showing on bravo right now and that started earlier. You have to click "Display Clock Data"

See for my local casinos, when they run a tournament the number of tables is under live games and I am not seeing that with the Vegas casinos.

When I click "Display Clock" I get the tournament name, but no other information.

I thought I posted this response, but it doesn't seem to be showing up.

I should have made it clear that I did this after getting the tournament listing, but nothing came up. I guess my Bravo is semi-busted.

Heading to Vegas for the first time Friday with some friends, have a few quick questions if anyone has a minute.

I noticed on Bravo the MGM has an August morning promotion, was thinking of catching it Saturday morning? Worth? Anyone have experience?

My friends arent really gamblers, they've never played poker in a casino. I was thinking maybe doing one of the cheap daily tournaments with them if they want to dip their toes, noticed bally's and flamingo have some under 100. Any preference or recommendation for cheap tournaments?

Similarly, would like suggestions on casinos for lower limit table games. We are staying at the Cosmo but my understanding is their min. limits are fairly high. Not much of a table game player myself so bit uncertain in this dept.

We are mainly going to drink and eat and sight see but ill be sneaking to a poker table when time allows. Hate to ask the age old question but would love to hear peoples preference for soft 1/2 and 1/3 in walking distance.

Thanks!
