Recommend you tip the driver of the free shuttles, especially if you are going multiple stops such as Fremont->Sam's->Harrah's.

Do any casinos offer player banks/deposit options? Looking for somewhere to store money for playing poker, will they facilitate this if you're not table game gambling? Assume a box is the only other alternative?

Bravo lists 'Rio' and 'WSOP' as different rooms.

I assume this means WSOP is in the tourney pavilion, but they still run a small room at the main casino area?

Curious/thanks

Rio is the regular poker room. WSOP is the cash games in the WSOP area.

I don't particularly want to hire a car and was wondering how far the walk is from Palms Place to Rio and are there any tips/shortcuts i know its pretty near and have been to Vegas few times before just never at Palms. I presume its safe to walk from Rio to Palms 24/7.

Thanks a lot
EZ walk. Do this:

1. Palms Place is connected to the Palms Casino. Walk thru the Palms casino and go out the entrance by the check-in desk.
2. Head right and down to the street (Flamingo) until you come to the first stoplight you see. This will be directly across from the Gold Coast.
3. Cross Flamingo and head to the Gold Coast. Look for the parking garage you will see to your right. Walk into the ground level of the parking garage (there is an open doorway, go thru there) and walk to the other side of the parking garage.
4. You will see an exit to a street (Valley View) which is directly across the street from the Rio. Cross the street at the crosswalk to the Rio.
5. You should see an entrance directly in front of you from the crosswalk. This entrance goes directly into the regular Rio poker room. The convention center is a bit farther of a walk.

Either Rainbow & Spring Mountain or Charleston & Jones/Torrey Pines (in between).

Both locations are overcrowded generally. Gun to my head, I'd go to the Charleston & Jones/Torrey Pines location if forced to chose.

Apoligies for likely being the millionth for asking this but,

Is rental car driving still a thing anymore vs uber?

Atm i can get costco basic car for $20/day

I’ll be staying @ palms place across from rio for 9 days during main

Obv parking fees is the main deterrent, but enough spots along the strip are free that merely knowing where to park & walk should be good right?

Yes. I’ve rented a car every trip to Vegas, but this year I decided to go Uber for the first time.

For me, it’s a close decision due to the convenience of just getting in your car and going (like to the bank, convenience store, In n Out, etc) to places I’d hate to pay to Uber to versus the hassle of paid parking, long park and walk, risk of car damage, etc.

This year I plan to head immediately from airport to Rio to play Sunday 8-handed at WSOP so I didn’t want to deal with the interminable car rental line at the airport.

Note that you will probably pay another $20 per day in taxes and fees.

Basic cars should go for less. If you cant find them, maybe compare at Kayak and have a look at Turo. Last time I rented a great Mustang on Turo for 50ish/day all incl. but you can find good cars with excellent reviews for 30ish easily, or less if you dont mind small

Other question in that regard: Will be arriving 11pm'ish assuming no delays next week, so probably at least midnight before free. Also staying close to Rio and only Uber/lyft this time. Is there/what is the best way to get decent bananas at that time of night? Thanks

Anyone ever receive extra "screening" by the TSA due to having cash on them? Was told they have a rule that anyone over 10k needs to have additional information gathered on them even for domestic travel.

Basically I had to wait for a supervisor who took me aside to his desk in a walled off area, while he made a phone call and gave someone every piece of info he could on me. (Where I came through TSA, my flight number, physcal appearance, clothing I was wearing, DL #, birthdate, etc). He claimed it was a rule specific to LV, and they do it in case there was a reported robbery or other criminal activities. Funny because in the literal exact same situation three weeks ago they just made sure nothing was hidden inside the wad and let me right through.

I’ve been fortunate to never have been stopped.
Someone posted on Twitter in May that they’d be questioning everyone with $10k plus

First I've heard of this type of rule for a domestic flight. Unless there's been some new guidance on CTRs in the last year or two.

Never heard of a rule regarding that but I’ve been selected for extra screening after stepping out of the body scanner with a pretty big wad of cash in my hand. Wasn’t even 10k but might have looked more because I had 5k in 20s with 100s wrapped around. Rest of the experience was exactly like yours and also included an awkward moment when the guy moved a step in my direction to eyeball my watch while he was on the phone. I was already prepared for some annoying questioning about my immigration status but that topic never came up, not even during his phone call.

Doubt it has anything to do with CTRs. They never counted the money or asked for my SSN/Occupation and there's no transaction to speak of.

Very odd though and I wonder what would have happened if I asked if it was voluntary although I think it's usually a bad idea to be anything but very cooperative in these situations even if it is a violation of privacy.
