Also significantly easier to lose. But we had that conversation in the other thread.

Here's what I use when traveling with a passport. It's great - don't even realize I'm wearing it, easy to get your stuff out without undressing. Only slight catch is you need to be wearing a belt.

I think the fact that you'll be wearing a fanny pack is the problem.

There was a (large) thread where tax implications/stuff for WSOP winnings (or maybe US tournaments winnnings/payouts in general) for non-US residents was discussed. IIRC not in this subforum but somewhere else. Anyway I cant seem to find it, I used the search function, advanced search etc. Anyone knows what I am talking about? Thank you

I am not sure about the thread, but I think it’s still pretty simple. First you make sure there’s a tax treaty between your home country and the US and if that’s the case and you cash for $5k+, you can ask the WSOP to assist you with obtaining an ITIN.

Thanks, but I moved to a territory with no tax treaty with the US and that is where things get complicated and I wanted to find that thread. Upon further research you are subject to 30% withholding tax but the question is can you do anything about it, such as claim your expenses like other tourney entries and travel expenses and get assessed by the actual profit? In that case it may still be acceptable, if it is just a flat 30% on the winnings above 5k minus the buyin and you cannot deduct anything, it is pretty unattractive.

Found $30 in chips to The D in downtown Vegas from a trip years ago. I don’t live in Vegas and realistically won’t ever use them. Happy to mail them to someone who will. All I ask is that you make at least one bet and post short TR.

Any low-rolling Euros who want to a currency exchange this summer on their way out of town, feel free to DM me. I have (up to) €1600 I'm looking to trade for USD at the prevailing rate and will be at the WSOP almost every weekend. Maybe we can save each other the conversion fees, which always seem to be exorbitant.

IANAL but it sounds to me like the answer to your question depends specifically on your country’s tax laws.

If you need an additional exchange resource, these folks are the best and cheapest in town...

Foreign Money Exchange
101 Convention Center Dr, Tower #101,
Las Vegas, NV 89109
(702) 791-3301
https://maps.app.goo.gl/sgXZySH3PiWvcN4X6

I had a nice win last time I played in Canada and they beat my bank by a wide margin converting to US dollars.

Thanks for the heads up! Yeah bank rates are absurd, Wells Fargo wanted to give me $1.05 when the prevailing rate was $1.12

Jotha -- I'll DM you. Leaving Sunday the 23rd so timing might not be perfect, but I'll be in touch.

Dear internet

Can someone give me the low down on the Palms Place to Rio walk i am coming for a few weeks to Vegas pretty much only for tournaments and most will be at the RIO at the end of the series. I don't particularly want to hire a car and was wondering how far the walk is from Palms Place to Rio and are there any tips/shortcuts i know its pretty near and have been to Vegas few times before just never at Palms. I presume its safe to walk from Rio to Palms 24/7.

Thanks a lot

Short, the only issue is crossing about 8 lanes of traffic. There's a light but it's slow to change.

You didn't map it all the way to convention center, so even farther.

How much should I tip at the big buffets or for roomservice? 15-20% seems too much in these cases. Or am I just cheap?

Up to you, but most room service orders already include both a delivery charge and forced gratuity.
