There's a bunch of Uber cars waiting for passengers, and a bunch of passengers waiting for their car to arrive. What if Uber just put a line of Uber cars and you could walk right into the first one? It would be just like a taxi line! I guess my point is the airport/taxis solved this problem already.

I went to the WasteManagement open this year and this is exactly how it was done

The lack of March Madness TR's is disturbing.

This. Sports betting in random states is going to be really bad for Vegas.

"Charlotte Lifestyle"

I think there's plenty of people in Vegas. Maybe not as many 2+2ers? I'm going next week. Gave up on live TRs as taking me out of the moment on short trips. Maybe a post-trip report.

Question about having luggage with no hotel room to put it:

- Might fly in around 7 am. Can't check in til afternoon, plan to play poker.
- Also, exiting: might check out noon-ish, but then flight won't leave til 5 am next morning (play poker all night).

If I'm able, I'll cram everything into a backpack. Problem solved.

If not, and I have a little roller mini-suitcase, too.... are there safe places to keep these in poker rooms? Will hotel lobby's hold them (for a tip, I assume)?

I've seen some travelers just set them off to the side when it's only an hour or two, but for me it'd be 6/8/maybe even 12 hours.

Thanks

You can store luggage at the bell desk of your hotel.

Thanks, but how about at the bell desk of the poker room I want to play in? i.e. not a paying 'guest' in the hotel?

I'd prefer to have my bag with me so I can go straight to the airport instead of back to 'my' hotel.

From googling, 'people say' Vegas casinos will gladly check your bags even if not staying there, as you'll be spending $$ in their casino. Makes sense, just confirming, if anyone knows for sure.

I don’t know about any official policies. But just based on personal experience, I’ve never been asked if I was a hotel guest when dropping off luggage at the bell desk. The people working there depend on tips and never look super busy, so they are probably happy about everyone giving them business.

Probably a good idea to dress well/look rich when you do it. That lets you get away with anything.

they might ask whether you are checking in or out, but only so that they can deliver it to your room later in case you are checking in. just say you are checking out, that's it. they won't know or care.

the only thing is I never know what/when to tip. are you supposed to tip twice with these things (same with valet for example)? I really want to tip at dropoff so that they won't be pissed and not treat my stuff well, not sure about pickup though.

You can check a bag at any hotel, never been asked. Tip a couple $ at drop off and again on pickup.

As a general rule, etiquette says you are supposed to tip after you received a service to show you were happy with it. In many cultures it’s actually frowned upon to tip in the beginning of a service and basically considered a “bribe”. Or, as you put it, you don’t trust them to treat your stuff well without getting paid in advance. In Vegas, everybody wants to be tipped all the time, so doing it twice certainly doesn’t hurt. But if you want to tip only once, do it in the end. $2 per item is still standard I think.

Planning to come into town from ~July 1-8th. What is the general advice on staying in a hotel on the strip vs. other options (airbnb)? What's the cheapest/best strip hotel?

For rates search Trivago or Hotwire. Where to stay depends if you want the stay in a casino experience or uber/rental car to the strip experience. There may be garage costs to factor in if you rent a car.

You will be there for the 4th of July holiday so if you want to be on the Strip for the fireworks get a room there.

Thanks for the tips. I don't really care about fireworks, I'll check those sites though.

Hey guys,

I'm sure you get this question a lot, but I am in the midst of planning a bachelor party in Vegas for a friend of mine (none of the people going know much about Vegas except for me), and we were looking at booking a loft/suite for the 6 of us. We think that this person would like a more "upscale" place like Aria/Cosmo/Vdara (I particularly think that the later may be the best fit) and I was wondering if anyone had any particular thoughts regarding potential options.

Have any of you experienced or have any info regarding the two bedroom loft/hospitality suites at Vdara or know of any particularly good suite setups in the area?

Again, I'm sure that this is a fairly generic question, but I wouldn't ever want to do anything Vegas related without seeking advice from you guys.

Have been in a Vdara Hospitality Suite and thought it was pretty cool but was glad that I didn’t have to pay the $1k+/night for it. I think it’s one of the cheaper 2BR luxury hotel options on the Strip, but still not very much bang for your buck compared to getting 2 regular rooms where nobody has to share the sleeper sofa.

I've stayed in some v nice 2 bedroom suites... even 3 bedroom at Polo Towers. It's a pretty nice location just south of Planet Hollywood.

Assuming it's cheaper than the super-nice casino suites.

Going out to Vegas for a week or two...I am Diamond through card matching. I don't really plan on playing at CET properties just gonna be playing PLO at Aria and maybe some tourneys depending on what's going on while I'm there.

Which CET property should I stay at? I'm just going to be visiting friends that live in LV and grinding so I'm mostly just looking for somewhere cheap and reasonably nice to stay that is walking distance to Aria. Bally's is the play right?

Bally's Jubilee tower works fine for me on solo trips. Cheap (usually free) and easy access to all the casinos you will want to play at. Bellagio and Caesars super super easy to get to, with Aria Venetian and Wynn not bad at all.

I had a kid a year and half ago and haven't been recently, but they were good for donking around in late at night and having a nightcap.

Jaman Burton has a bunch of vlogs there and enjoys playing there.
