I ended up staying at the palace tower and didn't have any walking issues. Check out their floor plan and see what to expect. It was more convenient/quicker to self park than using the front valet.

Mini fridge was not standard but was able to get one for free. Not sure if I got it by asking nicely or because of the diamond tier.

I was out there Weds - Monday the first weekend with my sports-loving girlfriend. Thursday we rented a table at Blondies. There was only 4 tops available by the time we reserved the table, about 2 weeks prior. We sold two of our spots to two people that wanted a table but couldn't get one...they ended up paying about 75% of the table cost. We did both the early and late session. The late session was not full. Good food, cost was applied to the bill, so if you're gonna spend the day eating and drinking there's nothing wrong with the price. Downside, as many have said, it's not easy locating a betting kiosk. Upside, we used the william hill app and although people complain about the cell connection in the mall, we didn't have any problem.

Fri - Sun we were at PH. We won the trip so cannot comment on the price. The food buffets were ok. The food was plentiful and the drinks were strong, plenty of beer choices also. They set up BJ and Craps tables right there. The TVs were plentiful and large, and it was not crowded. Tables were just long card tables with padded seating...definitely NOT comfy or cool. The atmosphere was a lot of fun, like a sportsbook atmosphere. You can spring for the man-cave areas and get a "private" seating area with fairly nice couches and chairs and your own TVs. I would do this if I had a group of 6-8 to go with to defray the cost.

Vegas during MM is a blast. I go to Vegas about 4-6 times a year, this was the first MM and it was a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

Thanks but that covered everything other than poker lol. I have no interest in actual college basketball just going there for potential action . Will make some casual NBA bets hpwever, kiosks are very rare in the casinos??

They have tables but basically no cash games. They run a small series schedule during the WSOP and they have the occasional daily/nightly that were basically shove-fests from what I saw (only entered once of them since I was staying downtown).

Go across the street and play the games at Nugget...

Go to any of those Mexican joints on east side. It's in the ghetto but it's super cheap and they do a good job. So if crackheads running around doesn't bother you then there's a place on Swenson and twain across the 711 that charges $13 for men's hair cut. The lady that smokes does the best job imo. She cuts the sides most evenly lol.

Really considering "skyline hotel" in Henderson for a few weeks. Property looks like a nice smaller version of persay an Eastside cannery as far as amentities and room quality. Building is not as nice but seems really good by reviews so far, also no resort fees here. Has anyone been in or around the skyline area of Henderson? Only about 12 miles from strip via 515 and flamingo etc

Yah I've been on Boulder by Sam's town, cannery but not that far south. Just wondering if area down there is any different. Surprised how many good reviews they have for rooms but then when I read poor reviews it's saying rooms are old, dirty etc, thought this was a pretty new property but the pros seems to outweigh the cons, and those few comments make me a bit apprehensive

it isn't other than there is maybe a little more open space/less congested (until you get to Lake Mead Parkway).

Alright, so guys would the consensus be that March Madness is probably best time for poker to be out there outside of wsop?

Does anyone know when Aria/Vdara refresh their mattresses? Recently stayed at Vdara this last week and the mattress was really worn out, same could have been said at Aria this summer. 3-4 years ago felt like their mattresses were wildly comfortable. It's possible I've whined about this in the past.. but also curious what the standard is for refreshing.

I live in Henderson, although not downtown .... I recommend you do not plan a trip to the Strip/Las Vegas around staying at the Skyline, period. Go there for breakfast specials maybe.

Boulder Highway is a road, not a destination, and the road does not even lead to the Strip. (There are some very nice residential areas just off the highway and excellent park/athletic fields in Henderson, but it is not a vacation spot.)

Downtown Henderson is nothing like the Strip or even Fremont Street. It has a definite feel to it of "small Western town" and discount living. The city puts on events periodically that are worth attending, but Boulder/downtown just is not a place to stay for a few weeks unless you have business in the area.

If you are dead set on avoiding resort fees, but want Strip access rent a house or a condo/timeshare.

The hotel in Skyline is brand new and getting great reviews. Friend just spent a night there and was very happy with the room. That said there is nothing within walking distance so you would need a car or Uber to do anything outside of their small, smoky casino.

Looked at NHL tickets for January 1st.
Cheapest was $105. Is that due to the date? Or are they just normally that price?

I think that’s around the standard weekend price. For weekday games you usually find tickets in the $60-80 range, sometimes cheaper.

I will have a car so it's not a problem. I known it's not a "destination" but I won't be cooking so I don't need kitchen etc from a B&B. Not staying in Henderson for activities, however I do like there's plenty of good places to eat around there without driving up towards the strip.

That’s actually cheaper than I’ve seen for many dates I’ve looked at. But then again I wouldn’t sit in the cheapest seats just because my eyes aren’t that good. I usually budget around $200 and will sit somewhere pretty decent, either first level, or very front of the second level right at center ice

The Skyline hotel is new. The area is not that bad down there. It's not developed. Lots of vacant or industrial land. I wouldn't walk around Boulder Highway near there but the Skyline property is safe IMO.

If you play video poker, they have 10-coin full pay deuces for quarters. And when I say quarters, I mean they dispense them when you cash out.

If someone is selling Knights v Kings tickets for $105/each, they ****ed up big time. Should be at least $150.
