Just caught Tom Green at Ballys. He started a residency there a few weeks ago in a small room. Stand up comedy with a couple very good opening acts. Had a great time.

Show is now dark for the holidays and starts back up again in January.

Hi guys, just wanted to say thank you all for the tips about going to Vegas alone and the different 1/3 games available.

I played 11 sessions total during my 5 day stay here and 8 were at the bellagio.

I won all 11 sessions and profited 2649 in 1/3 games.

The Wynn game for future reference was easily the toughest game I played in.

Thank you all!!

I know LV will be crazy NYE weekend, but how will it be the following the weekend - like the weekend of Friday 1/5? You'll have the college championship game Monday night, NFL playoffs before that. A good weekend for poker?

You'll hit the back end of a tournament series at the Venetian, with buyins in the $200-400 range.

Hey all. I’ll be in Vegas Jan 12-15, weekend of NFL division playoffs. What is current state of the sportsbooks as far as being able to get a seat and possibility of free drinks? I know this was possible back in the day. You could just grab a seat in Bellagio or Mirage and have a waitress come around. These days it seems like many of the sportsbooks are charging for seats from what I hear?

You can still grab a seat at Bellagio and have a waitress come around to get you drinks. For those you either have to pay or use drink tickets that you get for placing large enough wagers.

What’s the drink ticket status at the various big books these days?

What on earth is going on January 18? Just at the Orleans website and they're charging $600+ for a random Thursday. Thought it was CES, but that's the week prior.

$300/drink is pretty standard and that's cash at the window. Nothing for bets on the app. At stations you can get drinks for basically anything afaict but at least at palace they make you redeem at the bar- waitresses only for horse racing last time I was in there

Last edited by Wyman; 12-22-2017 at 11:45 PM. Reason: I think 300 was Wynn last time I was there

That's the giant consumer electronics show. It's a huge deal in Vegas, close to 200,000 people every year.

Thanks True. Good to know, I guess. Me and a buddy are planning on attending an NCAA hockey tournament on The WE before. Trying to decide on MGM or Aria. MGM (much) cheaper & closer to T-Mobile Arena, so will probably end up there.

Going to be in Vegas for long weekend over MLK, would love to play some MTTs I don’t really care about trying to go for a big score, but would love a fun experience and the excitement of potentially cashing in something. Any recommendations in $70-200 range?

Aria 125's, venetian 150's, Wynn $140's and Orleans, day dependent. Log on to the sites and check their schedules, prices go up on weekends.

If you're here on a Saturday, the Binions noon or 1p (can't remember) $170 is super soft and usually 3-4k up top. It is a super slow structure though, you'll be there for 12-13 hours if you ship it. If you sign up a half hour ahead of time, they give you a $10 food voucher.

If you're here on a Friday you could do the Orleans Friday night tournament that starts at like 7. I think it's $130 and usually gets around 3k for first.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendations. Any suggestions as far as some of the cheaper ones? Looks like Planet Hollywood may have a good option?

All the cheaper ones are pretty much the same imo. They are really bad value with the rake, fast structures, and often only get 30 runners or less. The only one I've played is the Flamingo midnight tournament, just a complete **** show, but blinds go up really fast. If you can make it to Red Rock, their dailies seem to get a better turn out, but the rake is equally bad.

Check out Spike McAwesome's thread in here and look for his posts. He plays a lot of these smaller tourneys.

Hello, sorry for the long post

Me & my girlfiend are going to Vegas for the 2nd time, end of April for 5 nights.

1) Which hotel would you recommend? Preference: central strip location - i want an easy access to Bellagio to play poker, nice view. Last time we went to PH, which was really awesome (booked the cheapest room and got upgraded to an awesome room with fountain view 2 floors under the roof for free) but would prefer something little cheaper this time. I was looking at Flamingo, seems about $350 less for strip-view standard room then PH for 5 nights. Is Flamingo ok? I also looked at Linq and Bally's but they seem to be in the same price range as PH.

Maybe better to book rooms later?

2) We will be renting a car in San Francisco to drive to Vegas and want to check out Yosemite park for 2 days camping/hiking, possibly also 1 day tour in Sequoia park/death valley. Are they interesting? Anything else along the way worthy to check out? We have about 4 days to spend between SF and LV

Thanks
