Since I have a ton of Hilton Honors Rewards Points I am thinking about booking a few nights there in January. Free parking there on the Strip is nice, too.
Does anyone know what the rooms are comparable to, since I've never stayed there. Are they recently renovated? I'm not expecting a 4 star resort, but are they a solid 3, 3 1/2 star property with clean rooms?
Thanks for any info about the Tropicana rooms and the property..
A business associate and I were in town for a trade show and stayed there in Oct 2015 in run of the house rooms. Full disclosure - it was my 4th visit and I've never stayed at a 4 star property in LV; always went low end on the prior 3 - first visit Circus, second IP (smiling as I type the "I" and the "P") and third PH. I was told the entire hotel was renovated over the 20140-15 time frame and I was impressed by how clean the room was ( and was kept) and that it was much larger than I expected. Bright, no worn spots or funky stains on the furniture or carpet, nice quality towels and sheets, good water pressure on a high floor, hot water was HOT, comfy bed and quiet. Don't remember size or quality of TV. Casino was surprisingly small and craps tables were cold and cruel. My next trip was this past Sept for another trade show and was a little disappointed the Trop wasn't on the list of available hotels. I stayed at MGM Grand this time. MGM had much smaller rooms than I remember at the Trop but better appointed. I also remember it was a very long walk from Trop lobby to the elevator tower. I also thought the restaurant did a very nice job for breakfast - choices, quality and execution. Didn't eat any other meals there. Overall, MGM isn't my idea of a 4 star property and I'd rate Trop at a close one half star below MGM.
