I have my diamond card from last year but did not make diamond status this year. Will I be able to use it to skip the march madness sportsbook lines or do the bookies actually check to see if I am diamond level.

especially when there's a line, yes, they do often actually examine your card or scan it.

At BURGR in January, I tried to skip the line with an expired Platinum card, and they said it was expired and that I needed to get a new one if I wanted to skip the line.

Just an FYI.

Caesar's might have a sports betting mobile app you can use to avoid the lines. I know M Life definitely has one.

I believe Caesars is the largest line originator operating in Vegas that does not offer an app.

It's not true that you need to show proof of where you're staying the whole time, I said I'd be staying at The Linq for one week whilst searching for a cheaper long term place and wasn't really questioned futher. I didn't need to provide proof of how much money I had either, although I was asked.

CBP gets more annoying by the day, almost as if they don't want to have visitors in the country. Even as US citizen or permanent resident you have to jump through hoops just to get home these days.
Most foreigners I've met staying here for two months + recommend this method, Norwegian Air will probably be able to provide what you're looking for.

There is no answer set in stone on this one, depends where you touch down first (in the US) and the agent that handles your entry. And probably your overall appearance. It's always best to try to land directly in Vegas if you can, as the CBP are way more relaxed there than say like Newark or SF.

This. I'm always in trouble at LAX, lots of silly questions asked, I had to open my luggage and they went through everything. Whenever I can find a flight directly to Vegas I don't mind paying more to avoid the arrogant idiots at LAX.

I agree, LAX is the worst, together with ATL. Huge lines at immigration because of endless stupid questions. Chicago is very hit and miss in my experience.

But to add something 'positive' for foreign visitors to the US: It's not that much better for US citizens. When we arrived back from our Christmas vacation to Germany, the officer asked me what I did over there. "Visit family and friends, let my parents play with their grandson". Next questions, to my wife who is American: "why did you travel to Germany?" and "where did you stay over there?". All of that was preceded by me and another officer trying for close to 5 minutes to hold an infant at the right angle for the camera at the automated counters. I was close to asking her if she is going to deport a baby (who is a US citizen) for failing to follow her instructions.

I haven't landed in ATL or Chicago so far, but 2x SF and 2x Newark, all times horrible and long lines. I missed my Vegas flight once in SF, even tho I had almost a 4 hour layover.

If you're coming from the east I highly rec Air Canada from either Beijing or Seoul-Incheon, via Vancouver. Very nice overall at a very decent price.

It won't be dead, but it won't be as busy as previous years mainly because it's later in the calendar year this year and doesn't line up with spring break for many.

Best places to see the sunset in Vegas? I've heard about Red Rock Overlook and the Highpoint Overlook inside the Red Rock scenic loop. Is one better than the other? Are they both good? Both bad? More question marks????

Howdy, I'm staying at flamingo and going to need to get to ph at a set time. Looking at the map I assume walking is probably convenient and fast. What about in a situation where I wake up late, hung over, and need to get there quick as possible? Looks like a cab doesn't need to take the strip, is that my best way? Thanks

It's hard to imagine that a taxi will save you significant time over the 10 minute walk. If you don't want to take the Strip, the taxi has to go Flamingo, Koval, Harmon. Even without any significant traffic, that's going to take a couple minutes. Add that to getting a cab from the stand at Flamingo and paying/getting out in the end, I don't see that taking way less time. Maybe if you need to get to a South entrance at PH instead of the North one you'd take when walking?

But yes, the cab can take you from Flamingo to PH without taking the Strip.

Also what's the best way to get a ride to the strip club? I read here before about the kick back to the cabbie and took it as the club offsets it by upping your cover, and the it could 3x the cover. Are the free rides offered by the club really free, any kind of requirements? Never used uber, would it be worth signing up?

Thanks, kinda hard to tell without being familiar with the walk n distance from flamingo to ph

Haven't been to a strip club in years but when we still went it was usually free ride, no cover. The only times we paid anything to get in was $20/person for two drink vouchers each, which was still a pretty decent deal. We usually went to OGs or Treasures though and not to the high end places like Rhino or Sapphire. We also only went totally hammered, at which point I couldn't tell a 7 from a 9 anyway.

I'm sure you could take a taxi out the back of Flamingo and take Koval to get around rather than hit the strip and get stuck.

Gonna be at a work thing at Red Rocks next week. What is the closest poker room to there? They don't appear to have one.

Red Rock casino has a poker room. It's one of the busier ones in town, and they are on Bravo.
