How big is the entertainment venue at CP compared to MGM's Grand Garden Arena? Possibly going to a show at CP and just wondering how the view of the stage might be. Have only seen a show at MGM which is why I wondered how the two compare.

The Colosseum is a (very large) theatre, Grand Garden Arena is a sports stadium comparable to an NBA/NHL arena. I'd think Grand Garden Arena's capacity is at least 4x?

Have you been to O at Bellagio? Think of the Colosseum as an ancient roman version of that, prolly double the size.

Colosseum is about 3000 seats in three levels. Everything is fairly close to the stage.

Considering some of the people that post here, this guy temporarily being in jail should be a relief.

Thanks for the info as this will help when I buy tickets for the show we want to see.

As we will be staying at Vdara and taking a taxi to CP, it will be interesting to see if we get scowls from the driver for such a short trip.

I hope the suspect's stay in jail is NOT temporary considering he likely committed premeditated murder upon two defenseless, vulnerable people. I hope Metro and the DA can convict him.

To be fair, Hafen lost his re-election bid anyway, and I can't imagine he would have been able to win if he had run again. This is really just him making it official that he won't seek the bench in the future.

Ease of use as not sure when we will go from CP to Vdara and back. I figure taxis will be more of a captive audience.

I'd bet I could get from VDara to CP walking faster than a taxi driving in traffic.

You are right, but we are going in summer so walking is not an option for us.

Regardless of the time it takes there are still reasons to take a taxi/uber/lyft rather than walking. Ie if someone is dressed up and/or wearing heels as an example.

You take the indoor walkway that connects Vdara and Bellagio, walk through Bellagio, get out on the north side, and are basically right in front of CP. The bridge over Flamingo is the only time you are outside.

If there's a medical reason to not get into any direct contact with the sun, you better take a taxi. If you want to save a couple of minutes and prolly around $10 (including tip), take the walk.

Thanks.

That is the problem with google directions. It doesn't show routes through buildings.

Hey Mr. Alternate Identity

For some people there is still a lot of walking because both the B and CP are big properties so door to door service may be your best bet.

What show are you going to?

I always go lower section but looking around when there it seems that there is not a bad seat in the house. It is a large theater as opposed to a large arena so it is relatively small and captive.

We have been walking in New York during cool weather so the amount of walking inside won't be a problem. It was the thought of walking a lot in the Vegas heat made me think of taking a taxi.

We are going to see Jeff Dunham.

Going to be in Vegas for March Madness, GGG fighting Jacobs on HBO PPV that Saturday night (In New York not Vegas). Any ideas on where I could catch this fight at?

I'd contact Lagasse's Stadium at the Palazzo and see if they are showing it. They show UFC events and it's a great place to watch sporting events.

Sup Vegas people I'm looking head over in May for 3 months.

Was wondering if anyone can advise what my best options are for accommodation within walking distance to the strip on a budget of $1k ish per month.

I've never been to Vegas before and i have head mixed reviews of places like Budget Suites and Emerald Suites so thinking maybe I'd be better off trying to rent a place privately for the 3 months but no idea what websites are best, if anyone has any info I'd appreciate it cheers.

Since you are asking about summer in Vegas, "walking distance" is a very personal thing. If you are used to walking a lot and don't mind the heat, 2 miles might be fine. Other people think everything over 1000 feet away is a far distance.

Example: When we stayed at MGM Signature for the 2011 WSOP, I always walked to the Bellagio poker room which might be a little under a mile away. Other people at the Signature thought I was crazy and always took a taxi.

A good point, I like walking and 2 miles or so would be fine so long as I can walk slow enough to not start sweating lol

I'm thinking I'd like to stay somewhere around Mandalay Bay / The Orleans area as The Orleans is so far the only place I've seen on Bravo that spreads Omaha H/L which is the game I've had most success with online so keen to play live.

you will start sweating immediately after going outside so i'd plan accordingly.
