They give it away free at poker tables.

In the convenient 3 oz size. With a dollar tip, you're probably paying about $30 a gallon for it.

Google Maps shows 8.3 miles.

This site gives the fare rate: http://taxi.state.nv.us/FaresFees.htm.

Folks,

I'm going with a group of 7 + myself and we'd like the travel/accommodation costs to stay cheap.(most of them are relatively broke college girls.) So I came up with this amazing plan where I don't have to compromise and stay at something that isn't 5 star yet still keep costs low.
My question is will packing 8 people into 2 hotel rooms that were each booked for only 1 be a problem?

You won't be able to get 8 keys, but there are no hallway monitors so just have one person check in and the rest go straight to the room. You might also have to share towels or tip the cleaning staff for a 2nd extra set.

If you're smart, you'll accidentally get one king bed and have to share it with the college girls. Oops ... did I do that?

Unless I'm mistaken, the rates don't usually change for 2 people as opposed to 1, so you might as well book 2 in each room.

is booking only the flight and then showing up at the hotel you want to go and ask for a room give you a better deal than booking in advance?

It depends on how much you play in the pit and who you ask for a room.

Seriously though, 99% of the time the travel sites will get you better rates than the front desk will give you.

Nope, damn near never, and you then have to run the risk of them not having rooms at all.

We booked it last night. I told them all my idea and first there was silence, then the general consensus was that it was too risky, they felt safer spending almost twice the amount to book the same # of rooms in a worse hotel. Ah well, I wasn't going to push it. But it looks like I've locked myself into a vegas trip with a bunch of life nits. I mentioned the twenty dollar trick to one of the other two guys and he looked at me like I was making a joke that wasn't funny. My favorite part though(after booking) was when one of the girls told me their master plan on cutting costs...bringing food from home and not gambling. This will be hilarious.

bellagio would be better for 30/60 but mirage will treat you better.

I Need to rent a 30" monitor while in Vegas.

Does anyone know a business or individual who can do this for me? I am willing to pay $150 to rent from July 2-10.

I Will pay security deposit to known 2+2'r or business.

I don't wanna hassle with packing mine up and checking it with the airline ($150 roundtrip), I dont have the original packing or a safe way to secure it.

I can't purchase one in Vegas and return it because I dont have an extra $1200 right now.

Thanks

Yes. Note though that a Harrahs Total Rewards card is what you need, in case you already have one.
