staying at the Mirage for 4 nights this week, I would like to bring my laptop, but not if there is a chance of it getting stolen from the room...would also have to leave it at the bell desk for almost an entire day as checkout time is 11am and my flight is not til late in the evening...

should I be concerned?

If you want to be real careful just take your valuables for a walk with you when you are getting your room made up but I really don't think you have to.

I'm going to vegas tomorrow and will probably be playing either some 4/8 or 6/12 limit or some 1/2 NL (1/3 too if they have it)

Where is the spot for fish? I will be staying at the Venetian, thanks.

Every 4/8 game (Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn) is full of fish, and I don't think there's 6/12 on the Strip any more, or at least, not regularly.

What poker rooms have rude rakes? With all these players coming into town the rooms that have a decent rake should be rewarded and the ones with rude rakes should be punished. Speak with our wallets...and spread the word.

This. Pretty much every trip I go on anywhere, I only want/need them in the room every second or third day. I put out the DND sign and I have never had a maid enter the room that I can tell.

Of course it doesn't stop them from entering exclusively to steal ****, but I've never had anything like that happen.

There will def be some of those but people heard, recognized the importance of, and acted on Caesars BS policy of taking out a ME seat for their Mega-Stack series. Venetian was crushing them so bad they just changed that...now no ME seat just a straight up cash tourney.

Vegas virgin here. I'm flying in this saturday (13th) and staying for 10 days . Say hi if you see a tall, good-looking english guy raping PLO cash (he's a friend

My question is about buying in for tournaments. I'm playing the $5k PLO at the Rio, and my method for buying in will be to use my neteller card, but it has a daily point-of-sale limit of $3k. How will I be able to buy in? Will I be able to go to the cashier and put down $2.5k one day on the card and the rest the next? Will I be able to pay half by cash and the rest by card? Or will I have to find someone out there who has $5k and wants $ on stars or full tilt (pm me)?

There was also a break-in to somebody's room safe last year that was posted, so that may be an issue. And I do know that there is a master unlock for at least the room safes in the Rio that security has access to.

Most casinos have safe deposit boxes at the cage which is probably your best bet. Rio had some big big issues with these two years ago (people given the wrong keys, etc), but seemed to have straighten things out last year.
