No need to pay for an extra person. Get another key. They won't ask you questions.

The plan is that we are going to be 3 staying in the suite. But we're only 2 people right now. But we have like 4-5 guys being like "yeah, i'm up for vegas but dont want to book this far in advance".. you know... lazy poker players.

So we are going to find the third person.

But what do we do with the room. Can we just book it for 2 persons and then just let the third person stay with us (give us cash for the room later on). Or do we have to pay extra to the casino or something?

You should disclose how many people are staying in the room and see what they say.

Never do that.

First of all, it will say on the website how many people are allowed and at what point they start charging for extra people. If they allow 3, put all 3 names on the room. If they don't, just don't tell them. They will only care if you tell them.

Yeah, but we dont know if we'll end up being 2 or 3 persons.
Me and a friend are ready to book now, and we'll take the panoramic suite.

But we book through expedia so we can only book the room for 2 persons. But we might get a third guy with us that will book later on.

Will there be any hassle? Or can that guy just go to Aria meanwhile we're checking in and then join us later.

Just book the room for two and ask for three keys when checking in. They won't care.

My brother and his gf are going to to vegas this week. He plays table games but thats not her thing so he is wondering if they play penny slots will they be able to get comped drinks? And is there a spot to buy discounted tickets for shows in town or just expect to pay full price. Any thoughts or advice would be helpful for them thanks.

Yes you can get drinks at penny slots, just have to be aware of waitress in the area and flag down if they aren't walking up to you directly.

I've never used them but Tix4Tonight is a pretty popular discount show ticket company. They are all over on the strip: http://www.tix4tonight.com/

Also, you might want to ask for discount coupons/books at the registration desk of your hotel. Sometimes they have some. And discount coupon books are on special racks everywhere, or at least so it seems. Lots of discounts available for most shows.

I intend on moving to LV within the next 6 weeks. I'm interesting in hearing recommendations on best places/areas to live. Also, another concern is knowing which casinos allow unestablished poker players the opportunity to attain safety deposit boxes.

What requirements are we ranking it on? Just the room? Location? Access to certain poker rooms? For example, I am a LHE player, so I never want to be stuck somewhere like Mandalay Bay, since the only place I can play is Bellagio.

So I've stayed at Bally's a lot because of that.

This Thread has some good info on places/areas to live.

Can't help you with the safety deposit box. My bankroll has never been big enough to need one.

Flamingo - tier 1 for your list
Monte Carlo tier 2
Linq tier 3
Tropicana tier 5- there is no 4.
Luxor tier 6
Luxor and Trop get worse or better depending on where your conference is?

I am more interested in the restaurants in the facility for meetings with clients (college kids and their families) and I guess ease of getting my car in and out.

I will be primarily at Thomas and Mack with some nights at MGM and/or The Orleans.

The Linq is where some teams are staying, which is the only reason it was really on the list to begin with.

OK, so that's good clarification. Based on restaurants, Monte Carlo is the clear winner since it has a few decent ones and its under the same roof as Aria, near Bellagio, Cosmo, etc. Flamingo and Linq would be ok but you're probably not eating at either place. But there is plenty in the area. Forget about Trop or Luxor, those are islands.

As far as access to T&M or ease of egress, it's all about the same. Not enough differences to make it meaningful. Trop would actually be the easiest of the bunch though.

for this at least, it's Luxor no contest - 2 level garage is as easy as it gets to get in and out of. and the parking garage is right by Hacienda Ave which you can take as a back way shortcut to the Orleans (5 min drive) or to the MGM and even as a semi-short cut to Tropicana to get to the T&M. the Luxor is also connected to Mandalay Bay & Mandalay Place so that gives u a bigger selection of close-by restaurants.

otoh, Luxor is part of MGM and they blow ass so there's that for a negative.

Luxor is a terrible location and a worst casino. Monte Carlo doesn't have wifi in the rooms and is getting rundown but the location is good with good access to the Aria. Linq is central strip and probably the best location and the rooms and casino have been updated recently but I have never actually stayed there. There are also a good variety of casual restaurants in the Linq area.

My money would probably be on the Tropicana which is across the road and an overhead walkway from the MGM which has quite a few good restaurants. Most of the good restaurants lean on the upscale side.

Based on your meetings etc. the Linq may not be too bad a choice.

Ah yes, the old blow ass negative. Probably staying away from Luxor based on this and other posts.

Appreciate this feedback, Trop being a walkway from MGM is appealing as it seems like an easy walk from the Pac-12 games and Linq seems like a good casual atmosphere with a recent remodeling.

I can always drive/uber/cab to a nicer restaurant with a family/player/coach if that's what they want.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I was watching a news report about discrimination and this reminded me of something that occurred on our last visit to Las Vegas (Sept, '15).

I use a wheelchair and play blackjack on occasion. While at Aria on this trip, my wife and I were scoping out tables (3:2 or 6:5, demeanor at the table, etc.) and a guy that we had talked with earlier, during our stay at craps, told us not to play at the two low wheelchair accessible tables because they both were paid 6:5 but there were high tables (same stakes and rules, except 6:5 vs. 3:2) close by. He had mumbled something about discrimination and I wasn't sure how to respond, so I didn't.

Is this a case of discrimination or no?

I think it would take a lawyer well-versed in ADA compliance to answer that question. I can see both sides of the argument. I'm like 60/40 though in thinking that if you brought it up to management, they would fix it rather than open themselves up to a potential problem. Even MGM management.

Going to be in Vegas for March Madness. What are some good poker rooms that will have the games on, and watchable from the tables?

Played at PH 3 weeks ago, and didn't even see a tv nearby.

Vegas is really bad for watching sports while playing. Palms used to have a room in their sportsbook and Harrah's used to also have a decent room for watching sports, but again that is long gone.

I really don't know off the top of my head. All the rooms I can think of have like Bellagio have a handful of small TVs up high along the walls.

Then again I am insanely spoiled at my home poker room:
