Mgm parking fees also likely part of Caesars 2016 growth plan.

Hmm, if they start charging for self-park, wouldn't they start charging for valet also? One of the commenters seems to assume they would not. If not, it would likely result in valet parking being overwhelmed. I might even start using it myself, without tipping, as protest, though I generally hate using valet.

Some commenters in thread were comparing it with Atlantic City, but it is much different there, for two reasons; first, a parking fee is actually charged by the state. If a gambler doesn't pay for parking, the casino has to eat the cost.

Second, while the fees can get higher to non-cardholders, I have always seen it be no more than $5 for people who have even the basic, entry-level card. It is typically not that difficult to get to the card level that gives free parking. Poker players at some venues are given free parking passes regardless. Maybe they would end up doing something like that in Las Vegas for poker-playing locals in their major rooms like Bellagio and Aria.

I find it annoying parking downtown because of parking fees, even when I can get it validated.

This is a really bad sign...

I do get it, but blahhhhhh.

Last week's trip was the first time I rented a car. I loved it so much I decided I would rent one from now on. So this figures lol.

If anyone has a local real estate attorney they'd recommend, could you PM me? It's a (I hope) simple "could you review a contract and talk me through the FIRPTA implications of purchasing a house from a foreign owner" thing -- nothing insane, just a quick CYA.

Thanks.

While it will surely rain cash down on MGM shareholders and buy Murren a little more time in the CEO seat, it is an anti-visitor policy. Resort fees are a way to reclaim hotel room proceeds from 3rd party retailers as well as a tax dodge and a way to monetize the availability of seldom used hotel services. If I'm driving up to Aria and am faced with parking fees, I'll go park at Cosmopolitan, I'll probably end up eating there and gambling there too.
as a local, pretty much this. I can't believe they are seriously considering this. I guess they don't care about locals business anymore? what people would spend at restaurants/shows/etc. is going to be a lot more than any parking charge on average. Having to pay for parking will ensure I never go there. F that hassle and ripoff. I guessing many others will feel the same way?

LV casinos and their corporate "maximize profit by nickel and diming everyone for everything" philosophy have gotten way too greedy for their own good and cheapening the value of their product. Keep it up and soon enough no one will want to come here anymore.

I was hoping that would happen with stupid resort fees yet folks still come and pay it, so lets gouge em some more.

I can see a case for implementing it during events in the new arena but not all the time.

That's an area of law I don't have anyone off the top of my head. I can ask around at the office tomorrow if you still need a recommendation.

Now if someone wants to get divorced or wants some custody of some children...

Sure, I'll take custody of your children. How much?

Which strip poker rooms are consistently running 2/4 or 4/8 limit games these days? I seem to remember Bellagio running 4/8 but not 2/4

I am going to be in Vegas for a week in November, staying at the Mirage. I will have days free and had been planning to hit the Venetian daily noon tournament a few times but I just realized they have their DeepStack Extravaganza going on while we are there so that tourney will not be available. I have commitments starting by 7:30 or 8pm at the latest each evening. Read a bunch in this forum before posting and plan to hit Picasso, Kabuto, Love, Absinthe based on various LVL posters. Thanks!

From what I can gather it appears that the Aria 1pm and the Wynn 12pm daily tourneys are the closest things to the Venetian daily.

1) Is my above presumption accurate or are there other tourneys I should be considering? (closer to Mirage the better)

2) Does anyone know what time each of those tourneys generally wrap up? I assume a deep run (haha) in the Aria daily would put me over my available time.

3) Does anyone know how long a 7pm $200 DeepStack event is generally expected to run for?

4) Venetian $1/$2 NLHE is generally good during the DeepStack events?

5) Are all the 10/11am-ish poorly structured insanely raked daily tournaments moreorless the same or am I missing any gems? (again, nearer Mirage the better)

6) How many questions am I allowed to ask at once in here?

Haven't played in over a year so I'm really just planning where to go donate my tourist money I suppose.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

should answer most of your questions. As for 4) probably yes. Judging by your post alone I doubt you'll be much of a donator against the average skill level of 1/2 so maybe you should generally consider cash as an alternative if you have to meet certain time constraints?

Thanks, that is the main site I used in conjunction with searches here to narrow the options to Aria and Wynn. It looked to me like most other dailies were kinda junk. Just wanted to make sure I was not misreading or had not dug far enough.

Cash games do probably make the most sense, I just wanted to slip in two or three little tourneys along the way. I think I'll be able to rejig things to free up one night and hit a 7pm DeepStack event and that will give me 24 hours from start time to recover. Maybe that will satisfy my tourney urge all its own. I am a better cash game player than I am a tourney player but I fear I'll be a bit of a donator in either format. Tourneys limit my losses a bit more...Bankroll nit!

Just wanted to say the Wynn has some of the rudest staff. Last 2 times I have stayed there I have had all rude blackjack dealers and 2 really bad/unprofessional pit bosses.

It's ok with regards to the Wynn, Aria has always been good to me; and I will be using this host I met at PH. It seems as if Caesars hooks you up way more than any other place. It is unreal the offers I've received.
