While it will surely rain cash down on MGM shareholders and buy Murren a little more time in the CEO seat, it is an anti-visitor policy. Resort fees are a way to reclaim hotel room proceeds from 3rd party retailers as well as a tax dodge and a way to monetize the availability of seldom used hotel services. If I'm driving up to Aria and am faced with parking fees, I'll go park at Cosmopolitan, I'll probably end up eating there and gambling there too.
as a local, pretty much this. I can't believe they are seriously considering this. I guess they don't care about locals business anymore? what people would spend at restaurants/shows/etc. is going to be a lot more than any parking charge on average. Having to pay for parking will ensure I never go there. F that hassle and ripoff. I guessing many others will feel the same way?
LV casinos and their corporate "maximize profit by nickel and diming everyone for everything" philosophy have gotten way too greedy for their own good and cheapening the value of their product. Keep it up and soon enough no one will want to come here anymore.
