Two years ago I actually went out of my way to get a TR credit card, just because they got a Platinum card, and Platinum cardholders didn't have to pay the resort fee. Then before I even used the benefit, they took it away. Probably won't be long before it is gone for Diamond card holders as well.

It would be nice if even 10% of the replies to my question were actually something even trying to be helpful though (especially the comments from moderators).

I did find some private rooms in houses on airbnb.com for $25-$30 per night total including weekends, might try one of those. Also a hostel downtown for $11 a night, sharing a room with 7 other people, probably will not try that.

Did you try Hotwire? Or do you have any Penn Gaming near where your live? M resort is about 10 miles from the strip so that may work. Also you can sign up for email from various properties and on Fb.

I don't even know what Penn Gaming is, but I live in southern CA.

Is Hotwire like Priceline, you have to commit to something without knowing exactly which place it is? I never liked Priceline much for that reason; it would be even worse in Vegas where you wouldn't even knoe how much you were actually paying because of the various resort fees. They already make it tough to compare prices on Orbitz and Expedia, you can't really do a proper sorting by price.

Yeah. Hotwire you have to commit without, seeing the exact hotel or resort fees, but you can in many cases figure it out. Worst case, just calculate the resort fee as $32 which I believe is the current highest fee and if it's less, then that is a little something.

The Hotwire Hotrate is sometimes a scam after they add in their service fee. In a Chicago Suburb I visited a while back it was easy to compare the Hotrate hotels to the regular listings and figure out which hotel was offered for the Hotrate. The regular listing was a bit cheaper than the total cost of the Hotrate.

Anyone know if TI has moved to 4+1 now that they have gone lighter on the promos?

Or are they just rebuilding their reserve?

How are games at the Mirage? Having a vision quest for the past few days of making a trip out west, hotel looks really nice and that will heavily influence getting the old lady to bite on this road trip.

Thanks dudes

The last time I played at the Mirage (1/2NL, about 2 months ago), it was me and 9 other locals at the table. Nittiest and probably the worst game on the Strip ever.
If tourneys are your thing, the nightly 7pm is pretty much a turbo crapshoot.

That being said, The Mirage used to be my personal favorite fish tank. The games used to be super-soft and touristy. They'd actually be playing at the table with their suitcases behind them. So maybe I just went on a bad day or whatever, but this was during the summer when it seemed there were good games everywhere else.

Thanks, I looked through live venues right after posting and didn't see one through July so I figured not the best games.(search can be useless on the app)

I'm interested in 1/2,1/3 nlhe and 1/2 plo, preferably where I can just take an elevator down in the middle of the night and hop into a game. The search continues!

Mirage is an ok small room and like everywhere else each, day, table etc. can have a different cross-section of players. Also, for other poker rooms, The Venetian is directly across the road, Caesars is next door, Flamingo, Harrahs, and the Trooper97's Linq are a short walk across the road.

You have two months of comped rooms? What did you do to get this?

He means he can get comped rooms every weekend except that one. Say he has an offer for 3 days at a calendar rate. That rate is free every weekend except that. Don't think too hard please.

My guess would be the PH dailies. I'm thinking the Aria ones are a bit too serious and deep of a structure.

Will any of the MMJ delivery services meet near the strip? The wife will be looking to take advantage of Nevada's reciprocity while we're out there.

last time I was out there (April) I played the Shoot to Win a/k/a bubble craps at Flamingo and Harrah's, I think there was one at Bally's, and I am pretty sure there were none at CP or PH

Most crap machines I've seen don't give any "points." Make pass bets with odds and you're already +EV just on the free drinks.
