Any suggestions, either on those games, or on what section I should ask this in? Thanks!
The real answer is you never know so just try'em out and if you hit a bad table go and find another one.

I guess I was also looking for a combo of:

decent food, good dealers, good amount of games going, smartly managed waiting list

Is MGM still sort of top of the class for 1/2 when you factor that in? I think B will be too snootie for them.

Where can you currently get out on the roof of one of the major towers? Mix on Mandalay Bay?

Is this a good idea? Wondering if the wind will be ridiculous on a lot of days.
Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay. Or for a wind-free experience, the Stratosphere Tower (try the bar during happy hour)

Or get a high-floor room at Cosmopolitan

I usually stay at one place, play all over, and eat all over.

I arrive this Saturday at around 10:22pm and staying a week at the Quad.

Starting Wednesday. I'm in conference all day and so can only poker in the evenings.

I plan this time to play one (around $100) tournament a day if I can.

I find research through poker atlas difficult at best, because they don't provide a summary
table listing all the tournaments. Instead you have to slog through each one to find the details. So I am asking for your opinion here. And opinions are often more useful than the provided facts any way.

I assume that the best tournaments are still the Venetian and/or Aria ($125) .
I am best at 30-40 player tournaments and have never played against a field of over 150,
but I have won some around 120 players. I like tournaments where the structure induces players to play poorly, such as unlimited re-buy tournaments or ones with deceptive fast structures.

What is the better Saturday (Afternoon or Evening, around $100) tournament?

What is the better Sunday tournament? Harrah's ($100) or Mirage (The stack)?

Also is there a mixed game this Sunday?

Aria is the best daily and nightly tournament by far. Good turnouts and best structure. I have changed my plans. I arrive Monday the 20th and stay through the following Monday. I won't play at Venetian because of Adelson's horrid campaign against online poker. The Wynn Is having a tournament series starting today I see. Might check that out as well. Otherwise If any 2p2ers wanna meet up lets hook up at Aria.

Whats the easy way to walk to the Aria poker room from say the Quad direction?

I once walked the long up hill way from the strip. It wasn't fun. There must be a better way!

I don't know if there is a easy way. Across the street and to the Bellagio and then take the monorail to the Monte Carlo exit and you'll come out right near the poker room. To me, its still a long walk even to get to the monorail.

The other choice, obviously, is to walk in front of Bellagio to Aria but somehow it may be easier than going to the monorail ?? Let us know; if there is another I'd also like to know.

Going straight down past Bally's and crossing in front of Aria is another route; I've done this but it doesn't seem any better.

Sorry i can't help any more than this; cabbing it doesn't seem to be worth it.

Thanks, I found by searching (of all things) and earlier discussion about this.
It seems there really isn't a very good way for walking, and perhaps the tram from B to MC is the best I can hope for. I just may not play the $125 tournament and just stick at V, H and W.

If you are coming from the street, taking the tram from B to MC won't really save you much, if any, time or walking. Tram is way in the back of B and not super quick anyway. Not really even sure why they built the thing. It could actually be useful if it and the tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay were connected into one long line for 6 MGM properties. As it is I don't think they're worth much except riding once as a novelty.

I kinda like taking the tram. You can also walk thru crystals and instead of walking south on lv blvd and dealing with that mess just walk to the aria casino side entrance follow the signs is a bit easier than coming right off the strip.

Aria charges 97+28. The wynn dailies are a better deal by far. Better structure less juice. Especially the Fri Sat wynn dailies.

Ignore anyone who says to take the tram. Just walk through Bellagio, through Vdara, outside for about 30 seconds and bam you're in Aria.

Guys, quick question:

I'm heading to Vegas for 3-4 nights from 30th April next year (Cinco de Mayo weekend). We've previously stayed at the Elara in a 2 bedroom suite, which was pretty F'ing sweet (bathroom with hot-tub, projector that you can use when you put the blinds down, full kitchen etc etc). I think we got a pretty good deal as we were there at a pretty quiet time and actually changed at the front desk from a much smaller room and bartered the rate down as clearly the place wasn't busy.

Obviously for Cinco de Mayo it's gonna be crazy busy and the rates listed on the Elara website for that kinda room are a bit steep (c. $700 per night between us). I imagine we've just got crazy expectations on price as we were lucky last time but do any of you guys think that there's anywhere in Vegas with similar setups (there's 3 of us so ideally 2 bedroom + sofa bed, kitchen, nice bathroom...) for suites in Vegas at cheaper prices? I'm not sure where to look... most hotels I look at just have insanely expensive baller suites or single rooms! Any method for getting a cheaper price than the one listed on the Elara website?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Apologies for the double post... just checked the Elara website again and it looks like a 1 bedroom suite, which is pretty much identical but with one bedroom + one bathroom rather than two of each, is like 1/3 of the price (c. $250 per night). I find that kinda weird, anyone got any ideas why it's so much cheaper? I'd be tempted to book that and then see if we can upgrade to one with an extra room when we get there, but this might be a bit of a gamble on such a busy weekend I guess?

You could book 2 of those and try to get them side-by-side.

Well I'd call it Derby weekend anyway, Cinco de Mayo is on a Tuesday and nobody cares about it that much. Or just call it a weekend, since weekends are always busy in Vegas.

That did not answer your question.
