Hi guys, I am looking for a map of the LV strip that include:

1) updated Hotel/Casino names (no Aladdin maps)
2) shows monorail
3) fits into a wallet as a printout

Thanks a lot for your help.

I am moving to Vegas in about 4 weeks. I use U.S. Bank here at home. What are some banks you guys use/prefer and why?

I will be working full time and poker when I can, so I will be on the strip at times, if that helps with anything.

I figured it was because you're paying a tax for having a dealer with their tits hanging out.

Is Flamingo (much) better than The Quad?

I stayed at IP once in the past but don´t know how much newer The Quad is nowadays...

I would avoid the Quad unless your staying in one of the renovated rooms. I dont think those rooms are ready yet.

Get in to town around 7pm tonight and on my own for a couple of days before meeting the gf. Any lowish stakes donkaments that I can just have fun in and get smashed that start around 9pm or so? Later is fine too. Staying at Harrahs while on my own so somewhere near there would be ideal. Gonna semi grind tomorrow and probably play Aria if anyone is around. Can't take the pokerz seriously tonight!

Thanks Have looked at all vegas poker before but not since it became poker atlas. Ended up playing the tourney at treasure island. Was $65 with either 1k or 1.5k gtd and got about 30 players. Was a total all in fest by the final table (bust 8th and avg. Stack was ~ 9 bbs lol) but actually pretty fun and enjoyed it for a low stakes donkament.

Happy with the gf who I meet in San.Fran. tomorrow so not looking for any action but in town solo tonight if anybody wants to get a few beers later or has any recommendations for fun bars that it wouldn't be creepy at to be there on my own!

It looks like my rooming / living options are in Mountain's Edge neighborhood or Spring Valley. Both SW Las Vegas, both about 13 miles from the strip.

Thoughts on the locations? General consensus about those areas?

I was in Southern Highlands, which appears to be a couple of miles south of ME on Rainbow. SH is a nicer quiet area, feels very safe and there are plenty of food options. Limited party area though if you are into that. It is very quick to the strip and you will learn the backroads pretty quickly to avoid traffic. It was less than 15 mins for me to the Aria on a friday night.

ME might be a bit more lively as it appears to be right on Blue Diamond/Rainbow. Again there are plenty of food options, a lot of stores will be open 24/7 too.

Not a party guy and the stores and other signs of life is awesome on top of I-15 being close and easy. I may just luck into a better than average arrangement

I live in Mountains Edge. It's ridiculously far away from everything. There are no stores or businesses here, you'll have to drive 10 miles round trip to go to a gas station, grocery store or 7-11. The roads suck, there are speed traps but no traffic signals, if you commute there are hellacious waits to get through the 4-way stop signs. I've never lived in a place that had so few (none, actually) stores, businesses, or public services.

OTOH there is very little crime here; if you like sushi you aren't that far from Oyshi.

Damn, I was just starting to lean that way...I may inquire a little further into the one in Spring Valley and Craig Ranch Villas.

Anyone with info on the ones above ^, feel free.

Are there any sportsbooks or bars that will show the golf this weekend with sound? Going to be in town and want to watch the final round of the PGA Championship somewhere but I like to be able to hear the announcers.

Look at Gold Coast. Should be similar price, nice rooms, right next to the rio and located a similar distance from the middle of the strip.

Hi guys/girls, need help with one thing.

Part of my family is thinking about coming to Vegas during the same days I'm there. I can get better deal on hotels for them by booking through my MLife account.

Is it just possible for me to book it on the MLife site, on their name and credit card?

Or do I need to/should I just book it on my name, my card and then just check in myself and hand them the keys to the room?

Hotel in question is either Vdara/Mirage if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for any help

Is it possible to beat the games in Vegas with the rake? I'm talking microstakes. 1/1$ or 1/2$ games. How high is the rake/cap at the most popular casinos. And how juicy are the games!

I've played alot of 1/2$-2.5/5$ and i'm playing NL50$ online.

Here in Sweden the rake is 10% with cap 10bb per pot so basicly meaningless to play.

Yes they are beatable. Much lower rake than that. Max is $5+1 at Caesars I believe.

The rake is generally lower in Las Vegas than anywhere else in the country, maybe the world. In the bigger strip rooms it's $4 max per hand.

I read the FAQ and not sure if I'm allowed to make a shameless plug for one of my biggest hobbies here in Las Vegas so here goes...

If anyone of any skill level at indoor inline roller hockey wants to play, send me a pm and I'll get you set up with a tour where I play. Also they are expanding their kid's leagues which are great for the youngsters looking to learn a great sport. I've played there for over two years now and the owner is so passionate about hockey it's hard not to love going back every week. All the prices are straightforward and out in the open and I'm not getting any compensation whatsoever for doing this. I just like the direction the place is heading and want to see it grow even faster!
