unless there is some way that this looks natural/not like smuggling that i can't think of, youre lucky you didnt have the money siezed and or you weren't detained.

Would it make sense to go to BMO or some bank, buy Travelers Cheques, and then mail them to my home address? That way I wouldn’t have to declare anything at the border. I understand I’m probably good to go with just declaring it. But as you said, I’m sweating the possibility of confiscation.
The rules are the same in the mail as they are in person. Over 10K you have to declare it. For mail, im not sure how you do that. If you don't, its subject to seizure in either country's customs if they discover it. International mail is checked pretty regularly if it seems suspicious, but i don't know how they decide what is suspicious. For example, SWIM buys a lot of overseas drugs and getting stuff siezed at customs is part of the cost of doing business.

IMO, if youre honest when you declare it for mailing, youre more likely to have it siezed (because why are you mailing yourself 30k) and also more likely to get hassled when you cross in person (hey, aren't you the guy that mailed himself 30k)... again, im not sure what the standards are for whats suspicious. but it seems to me that mailing 30K across the border right before you cross is going to buy you a cavity search at least 25% of the time.

Pretty standard for tourists to keep passport and/or cash hanging around the neck.

I was unfamiliar with this... i guess its like the sophisticated euro version of a fanny pack.

Regardless, i was picturing something considerably more stealth.... though i still think that keeping a ton of money in something like that then wearing it around your neck but under your shirt is an invitation to trouble,

I was planning to degen my way up to Diamond early next year, but I really don't like CET properties and spend almost no time in them these days. Which system would you all recommend instead? Obv MGM has a ton of properties and I play most of my poker at Bellagio and usually stay at Vdara, so I'm thinking Noir might be the logical play. But there are also the programs at Cosmopolitan, Wynn, and Venetian. Could anyone with experience at higher levels of any of these programs discuss your experiences?

First of all, if it's comped, you tip based on the value of whatever it is that you were comped.

Buffet servers do more work compared to the tips they get, IMO, than most other casino employees. Could you imagine toking the buffet server $1/drink like you do the cocktail waitress? The typical buffet server refills my drink 4-5 times, brings A-1 sauce, extra napkins, takes away dirty dishes, etc. I typically leave 10% (in chips from some other casino )

Well it's like anywhere, your tier level doesn't automatically mean you get all kinds of free stuffz, it's still based on your play and you can go up in tiers without really going up in play. I'm platinum at MLife and it doesn't really mean dick since I don't have the action to back it up. You get a higher rate of return on machines, first-up valet/cab, buffet line pass, VIP check-in, etc. It does not mean I have a host. Noir is likely another story because I doubt you can get there without serious action.

Noir is invite only now, you will need A LOT of play to reach it.

When you go thru cab lines, do they ever ask for ID to verify?

Was only ever asked for ID for the Diamond lounge with CET, never for any line jumps. Unsure what the policy is with mlife

99.9999% of the time no. Also, front of line for valet pickup and when their valet has a sign that says "valet full" they automatically have room for your car when you show the noir card. 99.999% of the time the valet guys aren't asking for ID either.

As a young looking asian guy, if I come across a noir card to use, I assume 5$ tip would work too amirite?

Maybe I should do a LVL noir card giveaway. At least 10 LVL'ers already have one of my cards anyway.

Someone come up with a good way for me to give one away.

Where and what time are the best games running.... it so hot and miserable driving around game selecting can make for a ****ty day so please post here some of the softer games around Any stake, game or limit as well as the atmosphere and service/food etc.......

Ill go first there is an amazing 2-6/no limit plo hi game at Texas Station that runs sundays at 6 only for now but what makes its so great is it offers whats is called a over button meaning if everyone has the button in front of their stack the limit goes from 2-6 spread to no limit omaha which is amazing especially with the players who consistently show up for this game.... depending on the mood the game can go all night or end by 1 massive pot big issue is lack of interest the 9 guys who show up are regs that are absolutely atrocious.....the poker room manager said the game would run more often if there was a bigger interest some of the visitors are intimated away by the regs but if more players show up a great low variance omaha spot may emerge.....
food at texas station poker room is good and very cheap 7$ or so for large portions plus you receive a free breakfast for 2 hrs of play starting after 1 am
Atmosphere: its not too smokey or noisy tvs are close by rating a 7stars

Please list your hotspots here,,, thank you
