Guys, need some expert advise on a bachelor party plan. 8 of us, ranging from doctors, engineers, to accountants and worse.

In the off season (mid December) so hoping for some really good deals on some really nice places.

Were there 3 nights, bachelor really wants the Penthouse B at Palms. When I contacted them and got a 2k a night quote, I thought it seems good, but its just a bit out of a few of the guys' league. Is there a way to get that price negotiated through a host if we buy bottles at a Palms club? Or is there a better option for our group. Plunge pool not necessary, but a serious plus.

Where would you send us?

Palms sucks these days.

Get a wraparound at Cosmo + a room or two.

If you are staying in an MGM property then Aria imo. If you are not staying in an MGM property then Venetian as it is free

off of the top of my head I've seen OFC at the Venetian and the Palms since the WSOP ended. it is popular enough nowdays I'm sure other rooms have it also.

Random rambling:
Saw Zarkana at Aria as the first Cirque show for me/us ever. Had some good acts, but a very random story and the main character who was singing in Italian was very meh.

KA: Liked it alot, almost everything was great. Some scenes like the waterscene was incredibly beautiful.
As Zarkana, KA had also some big mousewheels with the same guys as Zarkana I think. I did not see the meaning of it in Zarkana and the same in KA. It`s cool, and maybe I`m just missing something, but I just found it very random.
Either way, big step up from Zarkana.

Doing a shortish trip with my fiance for the first time in August. I already got feedback about shows, and really appreciate it.

As far as budget goes...we'll honestly be hanging by the pool, walking around and 'seeing' everything, and going out to eat. How much would you budget (not including poker br) for arriving Monday afternoon and leaving Friday afternoon?

How many fine dining spot meals vs splitting a sub at subway type of meal?

All your cost sounds like its coming from food and drinks

YMMV but when I go with the gf I either spend around $800 per day on food or we have a day where we get secret pizza and EoS and spend $40

So...who the f knows. Look up prices at place you want to eat and add up numbers

Couple of questions here:

1. Anybody seen the Penn and Teller show at the Rio? Tempted by it. Believe I saw tickets online for ~$50. Is this a good deal? We're staying at Harrah's so wondered if they'd have any special deals for it? (or on any other shows)

2. Seen a lot of things about helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon but seems to be hundreds of different companies and offers online. Anybody able to recommend one of them? Kinda no idea where to start! Money's not a big deal within reason but prices seem to vary wildly so what's the 'average'?

Thanks to everybody who's helped out in this thread btw. Heading to Vegas for the first time on Friday and already got a lot of good info from this thread!

Thanks

I loved the Penn and Teller show. I grabbed tickets at the Tix4Tonight booth for half off day of show. There's a booth near the M&M's world and I believe another over by Ballys

Saw Penn and Teller show last week and was honestly a little disappointed. They are still doing several of their old illusions from previous versions of the show and their Broadway runs so several of them I had already seen as they are available on youtube.

I am a fan of Penn and even listen to his podcast but it also felt weird and forced how they kept pushing how they a liberatarians and got a little political, just seemed out of place.

Show was still decent but did not meet expectations. If you are going I recommend trying to get good seats, we were on the floor level which was good but I have had friends see it from the upper levels and they had a hard time clearly seeing some of the illusions since the theater is so large.

I still have stretch marks from laughing at absinthe, so that's my number one. Then pretty much any cirque show. I'd prolly rather go to brad Garrett's comedy club before P+T

Criss Angel was horrendous and Zumanity was just meh. Absinthe is still my favorite show and will check out the comedy club in the future.

Just got back from Vegas and we did the tour thru Papillon. Your google results will come up with a lot of 3rd party websites. I prefer to deal direct with the operator so if there is a problem, it can be handled with much less hassle.

Another reason you are seeing such a variance in the amounts quoted online is because of the duration of the tour. There was a Hoover Dam tour that took off close to there from the Hacienda Casino for $29. I asked them how long the flight lasted, and they said about 3 minutes. LOL.

We did this tour. They pick you up from your hotel and drop you back off after the tour. Total time from pickup to drop off was about 4 1/2 hours. The flight itself was a little over 2 hours.

I also went with Papillon because you can pay extra to sit in the front seats. It is worth every penny. If you get stuck in the back of the helicopter in the middle seats, you will not be happy when you get back. 180 degrees of glass from up front.

You see Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and land in the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Then on the way back you get downtown and a kick ass view of the strip.

Total for 2 people was ~$800.00. Again, worth every penny and one of the funnest things I have done in my life.

This makes me think about asking what you guys think is the best place for standup comedy in Vegas? Is it Garrett's club?
