I think most places would price math, but you need to call them and have the exact website and prices right in front of you and ready to go. I still think booking directly with the hotel is going to end up better just because of the added flexibility it offers if the prices change down the road. If you do not care to watch that sort of stuff and are happy with the 3rd party cost, go for it..

Harrah's hotels used to have a price guarantee. If you found the same room cheaper elsewhere, they gave you something like double the difference. But it was a PITA to go through the hoops to collect. Dunno if they still do that.

As folks have stated, you get ENORMOUSLY more flexibility by booking directly with the hotel. And if you book with the hotel and prices fall in the next weeks prior to your trip (and they often do), you get to rebook at the lower rate, or even change hotels if suddenly a great deal appears elsewhere. If you booked with hotels.com/orbitz/expedia/etc, you're SOL. Unless the savings is substantial, book through the hotel.

You can find clubs or etc to party at every nite with no problem. Monday might be harder. But may places will still be open. I've had some of my best times on Wed nites.

I have a question about MGM Grand Queen Bungalow Suites............

I am going with two friends this weekend. I tried to be a cheapo and booked Flamingo at $59 each Friday and Saturday night. For those prices, I was prepared to sleep on the floor. My friends overruled my decision and we are staying at MGM in a Queen Bungalow Suite. The price is over twice as much($43 each at Flamingo after taxes, $108 at the MGM room), but whatever...it seems to be a much nicer room.

So my questions are.............

-I see that there is a min fridge in the KING Bungalow Suites. Is that also the case in the Queens, which are a different layout?

-Is the couch large enough to sleep on? I'm 5'8 and it seems like its big enough to sleep comfortably on. If it is big enough to me, will I be able to roshambo my friends for one of the beds?....one of my friends is 6'1 and one is 6'4.

-The restrooms seem quite large and separated from the rest of the room by a hallway. Is that correct? It's kinda important because one of my friends is 300lb+ and has IBS and I don't really want to hear him.

-The only other similiar size room I've stayed at is Palazzo(720 sq ft vs MGM 640 sq ft). We're going out with a couple lady friends of mine on Saturday night and wanted to chill in the room for a bit with Patron and Grey Goose. Will we all be comfortable? We had five people over when I was staying at Palazzo and were just fine.

-Any tips on a nice, but not expensive dinner for Saturday night. I notice that Kokomo's at Mirage has a decent fixed price menu for $29 and I'd be happy with that. Anything that price or cheaper? MGM's eateries on the low end seem to leave a lot to be desired.

So I've stayed in one of these.

1) I don't remember one, and I'm pretty sure we used one of the sinks to hold ice+beer. Could be wrong though.

2) Definitely. One of my friends is 6'2" and did fine.

3) They are well separated from the living/sleeping area. Don't worry.

4) You could easily party with 8-10 people in the room.

5) I don't have much experience in that range. Most of my meals in Vegas are $10 or $60.

Thanks for an awesome answer. Helped out a lot.

Now for the dinner....Mirage was offering that at 4 restaurants(Stack also but only M-TH). Kokomos and Fin did not have reservations available for Saturday night for a party of 5. Onda had several times available, but when I searched reviews on Trip Advisor, Onda has like the worst reviews of all time.

If i book a trip on Priceline for a 5-star hotel WITH a casino on the property, what are the hotels i might end up in? Venetian, Caesars, Palazzo, Wynn, MGM, Bellagio?

I want to make sure to not end up a) in a dump or b) at the Trump.

Priceline says there IS a casino? I know hotwire does that....

MGM is not 5*. The others all are, but I don't think they all have deals with PL. The V and Caesars are the most likely.

Interesting thing happened to me today ...

Got a VIP offer from Monte Carlo. Three free nights with VIP check-in, $200 in promo chips, $50 in resort credit (non-gaming).

I haven't walked into the Monte Carlo since 2005, and even then it was to get a souvenir chip and walk out. Haven't gambled there since 2000.

Obv it's an offer I should take them up on, but I wonder how they got my name. And, if I did pass up the offer, do you think I'd hear from them again? This is the first time I've received an offer for comped rooms (I do get offers for discounted rooms from the major properties, but nothing this gratuitous).

Thx.

So I'm starting to plan my WSOP stuff, anyone have a good realtor who could help me find either a decent 2br condo or a reasonably sized house for June/July?

PMs please. Would be much obliged and tip if a realtor actually found me something I like.

You would be surpised at the offers popping up. We stayed at Palazzo last year and my friend reserved the room, but did not gamble one dime beyond their promo money. Today he got 2 night free room offer and free slot play including weekends.

my understanding is that 5 star hotels at both priceline and hotwire are trump, venetian, and wynn. i also didn't know that priceline will tell you if there's a casino or not, but if they did then i think that narrows you down to wynn/venetian.

i just got wynn for 125 a night on a weekend during march madness by using hotwire. score!

1) Get to Trader Vic's early. I believe that their Happy hour 4-6 is valid on Sat. Load up on $1 pork sliders (awesome) and 1/2 off calamari. Order other food to taste. Drink up. Party on.

2) Firefly on Paradise. You can check the tapas menu online. Good choices. Great sangria.

3) Diego's in MGM might hit your price point and their moles and margaritas are quite good. The rest of MGM looks to be over budget.

4) Cafe Ba Ba Reeba in the Miracle Mile Mall (Planet Hollywood).

So with either 1) or 2) good food and booze to start the night. But given the size of some of your travel mates - you might want look for a buffet deal or just give up and head to Ellis Island for the $7 steak deal, which is quite good and includes a home brew beer.

First time to vegas for me and a buddy from March 13 - March 23. What are five things we shouldn't miss while in town? Any seasonal events, shows, clubs, etc that we should def. hit up? We're college students, and recreational card players ready for some carpe diem.

yeah i'm actually amazed at how honest most maids are. i regularly leave laptops, small bills, etc lying around and have never had any problems. i assume its just an issue of job security for them, as i'm guessing that if a guest reported a theft it would be pretty easy to track down which maid cleaned the room and fire them if they have a decent case.

also, please don't make your safe combos 1234 or 2580 (which is going right down the middle column). my friends who were staying in another room had that as their combo and we guessed it and took all their stuff out as a joke. same goes for an iphone password, haha.

So I'm heading off to Vegas for Spring break (March 16th-20th) and was wondering what some awesome things for my girlfriend and I to do are. We're staying at the Venetian fwiw.

EDIT: Also where are some good tournaments and omaha games during this time?

Does anyone have any contacts or anything for a host or someone that can setup a good price for me and my group for a night at PURE or Tao? I'm going to Vegas with about 5-9 others (still waiting for confirmation) in April (will be between 1 guy per1 girl or 1 guy per 1.5 girls) and was just hoping to hit up one of the two for one night at a booth.

And does anyone have any newer updates on prices per bottle?
