"Outlet" malls contain a number of individual stores, any of which might or might not offer good values (that the sign says "Outlet" does not mean anything). Your Mileage May Vary. Try the one on Las Vegas Blvd & Warm Springs near the rent-a-car center.

Quick Q from a non-american:

Are there any recommended beers in Casinos ? (say Venetian, if it makes a difference)

I generally dislike Miller/Bud/Coors and i guess looking for any good american beers i'm not familiar with (or maybe a secret stash of trappist beers u can just ask for).

To be clear, i mean beers you can ask from a cocktail waitress, not the best draft beer in town.

Depending on what country you're from, expect to be disappointed by almost every beer available to you

Hello... my first vegas trip is coming up.. so figured i'd post here.

So I love poker, I mean I really love poker.. I am no pro, I am no semi pro.. just someone who loves the game and plays many times in the week... I don't get to play for much money.. just some small house games and the occasional 1/2 at the Casino as I really don't have the roll to play anything more.

Starting out just to get a feel for the game I started playing little sit n gos in my local pub league and last year my first full year playing poker I did well enough (with some big luck on my side at final table) to win one of the two finals where first prize was a 700 dollar voucher for Flight and Hotel to a trip to Vegas for this years World Series.

Well today was confirmed I'm leaving on the 1st of June flying out of Vancouver

I'm able to stay at any hotel of my choice but I obliviously have to cover anything past the 600 so that kind of probably takes out places like the Aria.

Been suggested I stay at Ballys or Paris or Mirage.

Just want to get some feedback from some Vegas vets

Stay somewhere cheap like Orleans or gold coast free shuttles from either one. Rooms are fine and avg $40 a day.

Do you get to keep any of the surplus if you spend less than $600?

If so, do what chainsaw did.

If not, stay at Mirage, Bally's, Flamingo, or treasure Island would be my guess.

Avoid the quad IMO, just not worth saving a few bucks.

I think a key piece of info we need is: how long is the trip? Then we can give better suggestions on where you can stay for $600 total.

I'll be leaving on the 1st, returning on the 4th.

I do not get to keep any unused funds.

Doubt I'll be playing any WSOP events (Never know though).. but might watch for a bit... will play some smaller games around town though

It's his first trip to Vegas, he probably doesn't want to stay at an off strip property, have to shuttle back and forth and be over run with the blue haired retirement/bingo playing crowd.

so that's $200/night? you've got lots of options.

venetian would be my personal choice and their website says $597 for those nights

you could get a petite suite at TI that would be pretty nice. it's listed at $483.

MGM Grand premier view room at $576

i wonder if they'd let you charge meals to the room to be included in that $600... if they would, i'd prolly stay somewhere cheaper like bally's and charge all my meals to the room.

I saw a small print ad in I think Poker Player Magazine this week that the LVH has $30/night rooms for poker players throughout the WSOP, it had a url and I can't find it. Can anyone confirm?

The M Resort is 7 miles south of town, but you can order any of 100 beers from the cocktail waitress. (It's a special trip for her, so tip well.) Main St. in downtown LV has draft microbrews.

I've only been to the premium outlets up off Charleston, and I thought it was fine. My understanding is that it's a bit higher class than the one that's south on LV Blvd. Those are your two local ones, and there's one out in Primm 40 miles away. Can't imagine any reason to go there.

The non-swill domestic beers you'll get at a casino will generally be Samuel Adams (pretty much always), and here or there a Fat Tire or something similar. Just ask the cocktail waitress what they have that isn't domestic swill. Most places it won't be a long list.

the table game? or the HULHE machine?

basically no to both. unless you're a really really good LHE player. then you can likely break even or run good and win a bit.

The table game. You can 3x or 4x pre at Caesars. Only downside is the bonus bet or whatever it is must match your original bet.

Another thing was that you can pretty much know what everyone else has too. Everyone was doing the other bonus bet (trip bet) I think it was called, and just playing horribly.

It depends on how into poker he is, but i would say for a short first trip for a poker enthusiast, rio>the strip during the WSOP. Also, rio will have everything he wants/needs poker-wise.

I don't think LVH has a poker room, so that would be kind of weird. Also, for weekday nights, $30/night at LVH isnt that big a deal unless something happens to be going on at the CC

They don't have a poker room, but were offering that price every day of the week during the entire WSOP.
