Hi everyone! Was wondering what your thoughts are on the Mirage...will be traveling with the wife, we are in our late 20s. Older crowd here? Is it nice? Can get a deal for like 120/night in late April. Thanks for the repsonse

you can find better deals- Venetian is going for around 130-$140/night and is significantly nicer than Mirage imo.

If you had to choose a hotel downtown to stay at, where would you stay?

Going to Vegas in March, Dads dying of Cancer and wants to stay downtown...

as long as the cigarette smoke won't make him die faster, i'd say the golden nugget.

good food, good location, nice pool area.

I'm gonna be in vegas for the spring break/first weed of march madness and planning o seeing a cirque show, should I book tickets in advance online from the hotel/cirque or is it easy to get decent seats a few days in advance in person when I arrive?

you'd definitely be safer just booking in advance.

i don't think you'll have a problem, but i also don't see any downside to booking early.

If it was just me I would stay at someplace cheap like Binions. With the circumstance with your dad, I would stay someplace nicer like the golden Nugget. I have never stayed there but heard that Main Street Station is decent as well if expense is an issue

can someone explain the exact play of the $20 trick, i've heard a couple different interpretations of it, and i'm wondering what you guys think is the best way to go about it.

if it matters at all, i'll be staying at the TI 2nd week of March

I was told the water that comes out of my sink is recycled water here in vegas. Does anyone drink the tap water in las vegas or is it straight up bottled water for my Kool-aid

Most of the time it doesn't bother me, but I'm used to high mineral content. Sometimes it's pretty vile. Get yourself a water filter though, instead of dealing with bottled water. It's not the expense that's bothersome, it's the constant trips to the store and the humping back and forth of all that water that will get tiresome in a hurry.

I just use a simple Brita pitcher.

What is there to do in Vegas midweek as far as nightlife... Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, where do people go to party? I'm going with a group of my buddies in March and we are staying midweek, we have all been before and done the clubs and stuff, however, what is there to do mon-wed? Are the clubs still open? If not, where to party?

When booking from sites as vegas.com it's cheaper (incl. service fee) than booking from the hotel's webpage. Why is this and are there any drawbacks booking from these sites?

Question about the Alliante Casino

What is around the casino? I know with the Suncoast there are tons of restaurants and shopping. What is it like at the Alliante?

Yes but it is non refundable and you pay the full amount in adavnce. When you book at the Hotels site you only prepay the first night and have 24 hours prior to cancel. Have you tried calling the Hotel and saying I can get this rate at orbitz can you match

I'm planning on staying on Ti 1 week and Ballys 1 week. I just called Ti and asked for prices and if they could offer any discounts. All she said is that the prices are the same as online and only discounts they can offer are those that eventually are on the webpage. Is this normal?

Booking from vegas.com I can get a room for two person at Ballys for $75 AVG and on Bally's webpage it's $93. You think they will lower it if I call them?
