They do have city buses here, they are reasonably cost-effective, and Google Maps will plan your trip.

Just bookmark rtcsnv.com in your smartphone’s browser, and the mobile site (the new Ride Tracker city bus app) will appear automatically. RTC Ride Tracker uses GPS and “predictive scheduling” to determine a bus’ arrival time. The mobile site is built on Google Maps, and it presents the buses in their exact positions on the streets. You can refresh the site to watch them “move.” I would have been thrilled with an app that simply produces updated arrival times, but actually seeing your bus on the map and knowing that it’s two blocks away is pretty damn cool.

This says 6.9 miles, 14 minutes, between $22 and $29 depending on traffic.

Is there still a 50c/$1 game anywhere on the Strip? I seem to remember hearing or reading that Bill's had one - if so, what's it like and is it a legit alternative sometimes to 1/2 or 1/3 for those on a budget?

Bill's still does 50cent/dollar, yes. The play is ridiculously bad, but usually everybody has a very small stack so you're winning $40 a crack when you get someone all-in.

That said, I've averaged $115/hr at Bill's so far this year. Very small sample size, obviously.

Sounds like it might be an option if finances get tight, or in anticipation fo them getting tight.

What's the min/max buyin? Only interested in the min to know how short people could buy in, I'm not planning on shortstacking it (although it sounds like effective stacks might be relatively short anyway from what you're saying).

$20-$200. Yes, effective stacks are usually double-digits. Now and then you get crazy games there where people will buy in full and build stacks, so it's not impossible to have several people sitting on $300-$600, but it's not normal in my very limited personal experience.

Fair enough, thanks for the info, will probably have a look at some point in the trip, especially as we'll be staying in the Flamingo, so it's right there.

I was talked into taking a 4 nights trip to Laughlin, flight and hotel comped, still not worth it based on what I heard about Laughlin. I plan to take a shuttle bus to Vegas and spend two nights at Vegas, as you can see I like free transportation as well. What is my best option here? I heard there is a shuttle from Riverside Laughlin to Vegas airport, is this free for everyone? What is the schedule? I will be staying at Harrah's Laughlin. Thanks for any advice.

I seem to recall seeing multiple times/places that V comps work at noodle asia.

However, when i tried to use my comps there, the lady looked at me like i was offering to pay her with dead rats and venereal disease and informed me they don't take comps. Is my memory just completely faulty?

is there some kind of trick to this?

haven't been there since they remodeled, but you used to get them at the desk next to the doors that lead to the strip. just ask any floor guy

poker comps are kept separately from the pit comps

Might be a question for B&M or M&B, but as there's a quick Q thread here, thought I'd ask.

What is the etiquette/process for getting a table change in a cash game in Vegas? I am aware of the concept of main game(s) and must move games, but outside of being at a must move table (where i can't move until a main game seat opens and then I am obliged to move if I'm next on the list), if I want to change table, how should I go about it?

Do I just ask the dealer, call a floor over and ask, go to the poker room desk and request it? Do I get any say in what game I move to, or is it just dependent on balancing tables and where they want to put me? If a move becomes available for me, can I decline it if I've changed my mind?

As an aside, how is it indicated that a game is "must move"? I've played in Vegas a few times and have once or twice been moved from the wait list to a new table just started, but no-one's ever mentioned that it was a must move game or not - any tips?

Sorry for being such a noob, I should know these things by now, but living in the UK and a fair distance from a casino which spreads poker, I don't get to play live often and even if I did, many things are run differently (usually badly) here compared to the US.

Thanks in advance!

If a room is large enough or receives enough traffic to have tables where you can have a choice of tables to sit at , then they do not need to have a must move game and usually they don't, but alas sometimes they do. In all my trips to Las Vegas I have never sat in a must move game, but I would guess there is one somewhere. If you want a table change for example at the Venetian, just go up to the brush (poker room desk) and ask to be put on the list for the table you desire. If the floor is nearby you can also ask them. I would not bother the dealer, they have enough to do. They can call the floor for you. Even better just walk next door to the next casino and get a new table.

The beauty of Las Vegas poker is if you don't like where you are you can always go next door.

Incidentally when you first enter say the Venetian poker room you could look at the monitors find all the 1/2 games (say) walk around make some observation and ask to be put on the lists for those tables you prefer. I never do this I just sit at the first table I'm given. If then I'm not happy I'll move to another game or to another casino.

Actually during the day I plan a route: a sequence of poker rooms playing in each for a few hours and finally ending up where I'll stay for a longer evening session.

Ask the dealer or the floor for a table change(floors discretion)... that is the etiquette.

Getting to Vegas on Monday afternoon for 8 nights, looking for a standup comedy recommendation for me and my fiancée. Cheap as possible is preferred, but open to suggestions.

Have been to the Comedy Stop @ Trop about 5 years ago, as well as some standup thing at Harrahs and both were ok - looking for something where we can see a few comedians in one show for not too much money, not bothered about big names, just looking for laughs!

Thanks in advance!
