One of the major differences in Vegas is the complimentary alcohol, why would anyone bring their own keg?

I won't care if someone brings one drink in, but anything more and we are losing tips on the comped drinks. If I was a cocktail girl in the poker room I would feel the same as they can usually pull $1/drink. As to food Id say its the floors call.

Can you successful play one resort/casino against another in looking for the best deal on a room?

Well I guess if they won't let me eat food at the table for whatever reason I can just eat it outside or in the lobby while on breaking for an orbit, but that's a bit less optimal probably.

I expect even if they didn't like it at first, if I explained to them that I planned to be a regular and was going to give them plenty of money in rake (and perhaps even imply that I might spend it elsewhere on BJ, or slots, or roulette, which I never would, but they don't know that,) then they would probably come around on it.

Not that I can't eat their food, but just that I prefer to A. save money and B. eat healthy.

I want to be able to have things like nuts/granola and fruit and the like not be ordering full on heavy meals from the casino to eat at the table.

how do you plan on doing this? you prolly can play casino hosts against each other if you're a whale, but at that point your rooms should be comped anyway.

you and everyone else. including the dealer. ugh. now i'm creeped out. i hate finger foods at the table.

quick story. i was at bellagio about two years ago and this older asian guy is picking his nose. not even trying to hide it. guy sees him and calls him out. asks him to go wash his hands. asian guy ignores him or acts like he doesn't speak english. doesn't budge. other guy calls the floor and explains what happened. floor asks the guy to please go to the restroom and wash his hands. asian guy sits stone faced for about 30 seconds while the floor repeats his request. finally the dude just picked up his chips and walked away.

^seen it... it's such bad etiquette.

we had an old asian dude at our table the other day that just kept burping... and I mean loudly as if nothing was wrong. he would burp out loud about every 30 seconds or so. I am not easily grossed out so I was just laughing out loud, but some of the other players were leaving the table... someone finally felted his arse and he left.

I think these guys do this as a tilt mechanism.

Well thankfully you wouldn't have to worry about this with me, the types of finger foods I am talking about eating don't leave a mess on the chips I touch. Of course I suppose you might have meant I might not want to eat after having touched chips and gotten germs and such on my hands. That's a fair point.

Maybe I would do better just to take an orbit off here and there and go eat in the lobby or outside, and then wash my hands both before and after eating. Might be more sanitary that way.

Btw, how long can you leave your chips at a seat before they take them away. Is it down to a science or does it vary?

I'd guess 2 or 3 orbits, I hope more then just one orbit.

it varies from room to room and even varies between dealers that do/don't enforce it. and also it sometimes depends on whether or not a player complains about the empty seat.

in my room they give you a missed blind button for each round you miss. they pick you up on the third. you should have a solid 15-20 minutes in most rooms.

Pro tip: Theory outlets (including the one at the LV Premium Outlet mall) offer all original merchandise at reduced prices -- they don't manufacture separate outlet clothes.

Clerk told me that last time I was there...

There are a couple stores worth it at the North outlet mall -- Theory, Ferragamo, Tory Burch for women. Stay away from mass-market mall store outlets (Gap, J Crew, Banana Republic, etc.)

^ sorry to inform you... that is not entirely true. I worked as a designer in the apparel industry directly for more than a decade and in related markets for another decade or so.

Retail robots(and even some merchandisers) don't know what they are talking about when it comes to manufacturing.

I am not saying don't shop there at the outlet at all, heck I buy there SOMETIMES... I am saying be informed. As manufacturers you need to find margins where you can, and this means either in craftsmanship or in materials... usually both.

next time take a CLOSE look at the stitching, material weight and adornments, informed eyes can tell the difference.

Yeah, yeah, I agree. I was just talking specifically about "Theory" outlets. Most of the other outlets there are crap.

In my experience, the actual value in outlets are the premium retailers' outlets (Barney's outlet, Saks Off-Fifth, Neiman Marcus Last Call), which offer "first-run" (but older) items. Agree that the manufacturers' outlets are largely worthless (with some exceptions). Unfortunately, I don't think Vegas has any decent retailer outlets.

And thus ends the most I'd ever thought I'd say about outlets.

You will have no problem with bringing such food items to the table. I do it all the time. Just cleanup after yourself.

I asked this in Other Gambling Games to no response, but this might be a good place for the question as well:

Does anybody know what the restrictions are for use of Venetian Table Match Play chips / coupons? I'm getting them with the room offer package.

Are they limited to even money bets? How about things that sometimes pay more, such as the Field bet? How about an even money bet made mid-game (with information), such as in 3 Card Poker?

Thanks.

I guess Ill have about 100 hours of play at Aria soon. Can I get a meal or a room or something for that? Who do I speak to, the poker floor or that Mlife desk in the casino? Thx.

meal fo sho... just talk to the dealer, he'll have a runner come over and set you up.

FYI, the M comps are room dependent, you can not use hours logged at another M property for Aria etc.

Pleas don't lick your fingers then shuffle your chips

Poker floor. They won't give you a room though, you would just get the poker rate for 5 hours a day. And you certainly don't need to pile up 100 hours to get a meal, unless you're planning one hell of a meal.

lol... I would be interested in seeing what I could get for that many hours.

does anyone know if the hours are reset every month or are they accrued over the year?

They're never reset. And I know for a fact that you can get anything you want that you have the hours for.

Let's say $2hr/comps avg (assuming he plays during the triple comps hours reasonably often) = $200 food comp no problem.

At Bellagio a few days ago, I ordered a beer and a shot of jack together, and the waitress was fine with it, she brought both at the same time.

At Venitian I ordered two waters together, once again no problem, waitress brought both.

Last night at MGM, I ordered a beer and a jack and coke together, waitress said 'either or' can only order one drink at a time.

I understand that ordering two waters might be different then two alcoholic drinks, but as I said at Bellagio the waitress brought me two alcoholic drinks together, no problem.

Overall, would you say the waitress at the Bellagio bringing me both at the same time is rare, or was the waitress at MGM that would only do one or the other not both together, kind of out of line?

Which reaction do you think I'll run into more often in Vegas?

Anytime I've seen someone try to order two at a time they had to get one or the guy next to them ordered for them. That said let us know no harm in trying.
