Since this is the first time with the wife, take her some place romantic and you cannot get much more romantic imo than Yellow Tail at Bellagio which looks out onto the fountains. For the low end of your budget, you can each get a salad, a soup, share a warm plate, and each of you get a dessert at the end. That's what the fiancee and I did.

In all fairness, I must admit that we have only been to Vegas a limited number of times and Yellow Tail holds a special place in our hearts as that was where we ate the night we got engaged.

Also: Best/cheapest/convenient place to get show tickets? She wants to see a Cirq show. I'll see any of them besides LOVE. Should I get them online now, or wait till we're in Vegas?

You're not doing so good on your food advice today, dude.

I've been to the Del Frisco's a couple of times (didn't have a choice). It's pretty much exactly the same price as any regular old steakhouse, which is exactly what it is. Only steakhouse it's significantly cheaper than might be Cut. And it's pretty ordinary, and completely not worth going off-strip for when there are eleventy billion comparable steakhouses on the strip. If good but ordinary chain steakhouse is what you're after, Capital Grille is more convenient.

All the big casino hotels have several really nice restaurants you should be able to pick while there.

How busy is the pool at MGM Grand? I'm looking for a hotel that has a nice pool but isn't too crowded or party'd up. Was going to go with lomitHE's Planet Hollywood Westgate suggestion but the price shifted. So now it's between Mirage, Palazzo and MGM Signature.

A friend just got back and both he and his wife loved Olives. Specifically, the butternut squash tortelli hit them something wonderful. Another friend had great things to say about Joe's in Caesar's Palace (try the Stone Crab) as well as Scarpetta in The Cosmopolitan.

MGM pool is crowded and partied up at weekends. But the Signature has it's own three pools that are relatively quiet.

I'm just curious about this. When food is delivered in the poker room, (for me namely Venetian since that's where I mostly play) I'm told that gratuity is already added at like 18 or 20 percent so I don't tip any more on top of that. It seems that others on here do tip extra.

Is this standard practice and I am the oddball? It doesn't really matter much but I was just wondering what you guys do.

ive never heard that before -- and i tip a couple bucks when i get food (and afaik most people do)

But its not like ive got the green visor and adding machine there at the table -- its entirely possible that they tack on a grat and ive been double tipping all this time

Venetian adds 18% gratuity onto the bill when you order food in the poker room. I am not sure if this all goes to the person who serves you though. I eat at the grand lux instead of at the table. Much better choice imo.

I do look at the receipts but I was just wondering if anyone was in the know and who actually received the gratuity. I figure its probably spread between a few people so I'm not too worried about it.

When playing at the V, I usually opt to eat at Grand Luxe but if the game is really good I'll just be a degen and eat at the table. Plus I really like to eat at the table.

Only seen Mystere otherwise. That was how I envision Cirque- cool acrobatic ****. Love was light on that, heavy on what was basically interpretive dance.
