I'm looking for a place to live within walking distance of the MGM.

-MGM Signature
-Budget Suites
-Hooters Hotel?
-Twin Towers?
-City Center?

Anyone have an experience with the above options or have other suggestions? Looking for a 1 year lease max. Studio, 1 bedroom or even a 2 bedroom is okay.

Hey guys, coming to vegas on the 23rd, gonna be staying at venetian with 2 others. My q's:
- will the 20$ trick work at venetain, should I offer 50 since its 3 people?
-best plo games? I heard venetian runs a good 1-2 plo game
-best place to pickup chicks while balling on a budget? We are all in our early 20's
-good place to rent a car, is it even worth renting a car?
Thx in adv..

Dude if ur in Vegas for general debauchery there is NO reason to rent a car.

You can meet girls anywhere.

I think price range would help get you a better answer.. you seem to be all over the place pricewise

  3. Go to Wal-mart, buy a DVR (or VCR). Carefully open the box and save all the packing material and your receipt. Return the DVR (or VCR) to Wal-mart as unwanted and get your money back. Sleazy yes, but people do this.
im sure it would be trivially easy (though technically illegal) to find this on isohunt and download it and watch it on your computer.

Price wise, under $1,400 for 2 bedroom. I've stayed at budget suites before, can get as low as $189 a week sometimes, but its kind of a shady walk to the strip and not very nice.

Check out this link http://luxuryinlasvegas.com and the highrise thread. But I'd think you could get a MGM Sig studio for $1400/mo or do the Meridian for about the same. Otherwise you might want to check out apartments on Tropicana, Flamingo, I'd go out to I215 or S LV Blvd and bus it over.

Don't rent a car. It's much easier to take a cab or walk.

Are you going off strip? If not, I don't think you need a car. You can do cab, walk, or the monorail.

The other questions I cannot help you with.

I'd get one if you have planned stuff that requires travel. It saves money over cabs usually.

It saves time as well, which is often a more valuable commodity when traveling.

Yeah, if you're going to be at the Rio much, rent a car. Either from Enterprise closest to the Venetian (to avoid airport fees), or any major rental company and pick it up at the airport consolidated facility.

edit: oops, early 20's. Search for "renting while under 25" posts on the best way to rent.

There's also an Enterprise place just west of the palms on Flamingo. And I guess they'll pick you up too. I think cabbing it probably easiest might be a bit more expensive.

I'm not sure how much time a rented car is going to save you over a cab. It's hard to get around Vegas quickly if you're not familiar with it. Plus around the strip there are cab stands everywhere.

It's incredibly crowded. I mean totally flooded with scantily clothed babes. Way to much trouble. I suggest staying home.

It's not a horribly complex town, especially around the Strip.

Yeah there are cab stands. On a busy weekend, there are lines at those stands, sometimes a half-hour wait or more.

General consensus, which is better: Vdara or The Cosmopolitan?

In terms of room quality, atmosphere, location, pool?

Going to Vegas with the girlfriend and was curious what Hotel to choose from between Trump, Mirage, Planet Hollywood Westgate, and Vdara. Looking for a nice room and a good pool. There will be little to no gambling. Just looking to have 2-3 quality meals, see a show and chill at the pool with cool drinks.

Scanning various threads here it seems Trump is a bit north but has nice rooms, but I don't know anything about the pool. Mirage sounds to be a tier lower, though still nice, and has a great pool. PH Westgate and Vdara I know nothing about aside from having nice rooms.

Any recommendations of one over another, or opinions on the pools and rooms themselves would be greatly appreciated.
