I wish I had known this...I was there yesterday to check out the car show and made the mistake of not getting validated,

He means if you stay at the red roof inn instead you'll have a budget for bottles.

And as far as room choices I've stayed at both the Venetian and Caesars ( not those exact room types) and I liked my Caesars room more overall. But I say just stay at the cheaper room, a standard Venetian room is still nice and very spacious.

Oh good point lol but think we will book the cheaper room at venetian. We are both 22 so dont want to be in a club with alot of 30+ year olds. Could we have a good night in the clubs for something like $150-$200 each?

Quick Question. I'm visiting LV for the first time and I'm staying at Harrah's for 11 days in August and want to sign up to their reward card system cos I plan on playing a lot of poker at their casinos. When I get the card, do I just hand it to the dealer when I arrive and then hand it to him when I leave to accumulate the points?

Thanks.

Depends on the room ur playing in, but most places have a place to swipe u in on the tables, so u hand it to the dealer when u sit down and then u dont have to worry about it again. once u leave the dealers will remove u from the tracking system(u dont have to give ur card when u leave if the play is tracked through this system). rinse and repeat

I appreciate the help before.

I'm staying at MGM for 3 nights and IP for 3 nights. I'm going to be playing low limit craps & blackjack average bet ~20-25 blackjack ~20 craps was wondering where I should play for getting comps? I think I should concentrate my play. And I know I'm not expecting much (maybe food?). Any answers would be appreciated.

Question about snus. This is kinda like cheewing tobacco. Is it allowed in most poker rooms?

I was told at MGM couple of years ago that it was banned as they considered it as ordinary tobacco (smoking) by the floor manager.

Banned at MGM for sure... probably at most rooms also, but it may be room by room as I played with someone chewing the other day at ARIA. perhaps it was just that the floor didn't see him. most dealers won't say anything as long as you keep it low profile.

chewing tobacco is not allowed, and thank god, because nobody wants to watch you spit

I did the same thing in March for 4 days at Caesar's, and now I'm getting comped 3 nights there Labor Day weekend, and was offered longer comp periods at their lower level hotels. It's a part of Total Rewards, which has lots of casinos in LV (check the TR thread).

If you keep it low profile (spit through a straw in a cup), you can pull it off at any casino i've found.

Snus isn't messy like that.. it stays in bags (http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/...s_1481910c.jpg ) don't think it would be any diferent to chewing gum.. people couldn't tell anyway.

That's not the way snus'ing works, you put the bag inbetween your upper lip and teeth, and take it out again when the effect of the nicotine has worn off. If you don't apply it openly nobody will ever know you've taken the stuff.

Trying to find a cheap flight to Vegas these last few days and the cheapest economy roundtrip I'm coming up with thru Travelocity, Priceline, Expedia, etc is $460 plus taxes and fees... so basically just over $500. I remember searching back for Vegas flights in February and it was close to $450 total back then for the cheapest flight. Granted, I'm trying to book a week in advance and not a month in advance, but I dont have the luxury of booking dates THAT far ahead with my current situation.

However, I was always under the impression that flights to Vegas were, in general, pretty cheap. I remember when I went in 2009 in late July it was only like $260 total roundtrip, and I only booked a week in advance. Have prices just risen that much in the last two years? FWIW, I'd be leaving from Newark, La Guardia, or JFK. Are the days of $200 flights gone, or am I just searching in the wrong places? FWIW, I'm also a AAA member, dont know if that would help any.

Any advice or tips on getting a cheaper flight are appreciated. FWIW, I've also heard of people going to airports and "piggybacking" on last minute flights when there are still seats available and paying significantly less, but I've never done that myself and dont know if that actually works. I just feel like such a sucker for having to pay $500 for a Vegas flight when just a few years ago they were getting advertised for $99+ for weekend roundtrip flights on certain airlines.

They can spot it when you insert the shet in your mouthings. Or a skilled mofo can tell by looking at your upper lip. In MGM the guy caught me just as I was about to have one, and told me that this is banned from the poker room.

$500 is a cheap flight. For example the best I can get from Marquette Michigan is $470. I don't belive AAA can help, but try through the AAA travel agent. I don't think "standby" gets you cheaper flights anymore.

I'm driving out to LV from San Luis Obispo on Thursday. Google maps gives two potential routes, with estimated times within 30 minutes of each other. Route one is taking 101N to 58E to 15N. The other is taking 101S to 134E to 210E to 15N. I'll be leaving SLO around 6pm, so based on my experience driving to SD regularly, traffic in Santa Barbara and LA won't be a factor if I choose route 2.

Anyone have experience with driving from SLO and have a preferred route?
